cwm rom manager

rom manager has an option to install rom from sd, anyone tried this? maybe we don't need to wait for cwm recovery?
It still involves rebooting into cwr though
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
it shows the external sd card though and a message pops up when i try to it says, "installing a rom with a recovery other than cwm may not work properly." so it does NOT involve cwm recovery
Tommorrow ill build a cwm for us no time today

I will be anxiously awaiting a CWM recovery as well as an Odin TAR. I think I've experimented my phone to death and need to just start fresh again.

Can someone help? I can't get into clockworkmod recovery mode.

Make sure you have newest version by flashing through ROM manager.

He can't boot, therefor can't use ROM manager. Flash recovery.img from fastboot. You can find CWM recovery images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686
If you don't know how to use fastboot and flash from it, just search xda, and you'll find many guides ...
Good luck!

Flash it with fastboot, of course. There are plenty of posts here and on the net in general that explain how.
or you could use flashimagegui. its a paid app in the play store, & its also posted here by the dev

Or install the ROM Manager app, which can flash CWM for you.
Use my Root post

Stuck in CWM Recovery

When booting up (by pressing power button, and when I connect it to charger it boots up by itself) the phone goes straight to CWM Recovery. I've tried everything, nothing works.
When in CWM everything seems to work fine: I can flash the ROM or do backup/restore.
I tried going back to stock - same problem. Can Not boot to OS.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Just to clarify on understanding your issue, when you boot up the phone by pressing only the power button your phone goes into cwm instead? While in cwm when you select reboot does is just stay in cwm? What version of cwm are you using? If I were in your shoes, I would reflash cwm with nvflash and go from there.

Sounds like you need to NVFlash CWM.
Did you use ROM Manager to flash CWM?
Appears you flashed CWM to the boot partition, not the recovery partition, which can happen when you use ROM manager.

The answer to all of these questions is "Yes"
The CWM Recovery I used is 5.0.2.0, but I tried other versions too, same results: reboot to Recovery just by pressing power or "reboot' from CWM.

I would next than suggest using the scrubber/nullifier, followed by NV flashing the stock rescue package, than follow back up with NV flashing CWM and than your ROM.
This should rebuild all partitions and than rebuild from scratch.
This is the procedure I follow when I brick my phone. I can provide you with links if needed.
This is the only thing I would think to do if my device.

Just use nvflash to push stock with CWM. Should work.

No worries, but to re-partition right after a healthy dose of nullification is an overkill IMHO .

I found and used the nullifier, but it didn't help either. I used the file manager that comes with the nullifier, and for some reason the boot folder is empty even after I flash the ROM, and I also tried copy/paste the boot image from my backup folder to the root/boot folder.
I'm frustrated. Please HELP. any other suggestions.
Lets try pushing back to completely stock and see if the phone works correctly under stock conditions.

Did NV Flash run with no errors and it still boots to CWM?
Last idea I have is Волк's suggestion, I multi quoted this thread so the link is right above this text.
Or try running LGs official update tool and see if it will run.

I tried to reboot the phone, and now its in boot loop.
Is it safe to flash CWM Recovery(v5.0.2.7) now ? And then restore from my backup?
If you made the backup with a different version of CWM the backup will not restore. You have to use the same version to restore the ROM as you did to make the backup.
Yey!!! It worked! :victory::victory::laugh:
Flashed NV Flash----->Flashed CWM 5.0.2.7----> and then restored from my backup. Now my phone is as it was before.
Thanks so much everyone!!!
