HTC Fuze (AT&T Plans)

I was curious of those of you using AT&T's service and have Fuze's. What plans do you have? What do you think is the best overall plan? for unlimited text messaging and unlimited data plan, i dont need many minutes. thanks

Unlimited text and media net = $50.00
Maybe the 59.99 plan?

Did you already buy the fuze? Or are you going to get it from ATT with the rebate? Cause if you get it from them there going to put you on the PDA plan... which cost more that the $15 unlimited media net... you supposed to have the PDA plan for the FUZE but ONE way around it is if you bought the phone without contract and just added the $15 media net unlimited... but theres other ways around it..

no i already have the fuze, but no service. i need service and i want to know what i should do? i want the cheapest possible plan, but i need unlimited data and text messaging. should i act like im going to buy a motorola razer? and get the unlimited internet package on it? I mean will it work on my fuze? thanks

MEdia Max Unlimited (Text & Web) - $35
that'll give you 450 minutes talk time along with unlimited data and unlimited messaging. since you already have the phone it should be no problem getting the non-PDA data plan.
just go in and sign up for a plan and get a sim card.

Is it really possible to use Media Max with a PDA phone?
I thought AT&T didn't alllow this?

if you want media max for $15, sign up for it using a regular phone such as a razr. the plan will be $39.99 (voice) + $15 (data). After you sign up for the service, just take out the sim card and put it in your fuze at home. Note that this is against the agreement you signed with AT&T. All PDA phones (yes Fuze is a PDA phone) are only allowed to have PDA data ($35 stand alone or $30 if you tie it to a voice plan). By having media max for $15 you're essentially involved in fraud. Some people obviously have no problem doing that, but if you have a conscience you might want to just sign up for a voice + data plan for Fuze ($39.99 + $30)
and yes ATT does charge extra for roaming.

1. Cheapest will be Nation 450 @ 39.99
2. Best value is Nation 450 or Nation 900 w/ early N&W (extra 60 hours a month of unlimited talking)
3. AT&T DOES NOT charge for roaming. If you are flagged as an excessive off-network roamer, the only consequence is a pushed back upgrade date. Anyone who tells you different is wrong.
4. If you DO sign up for MediaNet or MediaMax and use the IMEI from a RAZR or what have you, note that you will be faced with the following:
- It will be counted as fraud and violate AT&Ts Terms and Conditions leaving you open for legal action or service cancellation
- You WILL NOT receive insurance replacements
- You WILL NOT get the instant $100 Data Phone discount and $50 MIR meaning you will pay $450 for the phone. And no, you can't ask for it. And it's going to look fishy going into a store buying the phone outright and not getting the IMEI activated onto your account. You might get investigated.
- You CAN NOT call customer service or tech support with issues regarding your phone. They will investigate your account, notice the IMEI discrepancy and put the correct smart phone plan on your account.

AT&T doesnt charge extra for international roaming?
I thought they charge extra if you receive data when you're in, say, Canada. Same goes with phone calls. could you please clarify? thanks

No. To be clear, the plan separation is ATT's way of charging per use. Basically they use different plans for different phones that are more data intensive (iPhone, Blackberry, PDA phones). The phones all use the same data network (PDA phones get assigned a publicly addressable IP, there is that one difference) and get the same data throughput. They don't really monitor data usage (except for crazy high amounts), and the infrastructure's not really there to have everything separated out, so they just sign you up with a data plan that's priced to the phone you buy. Then they put some legalese in the account agreement to try to enforce that. I've never heard of them actually enforcing it.

I work for ATT and i have to agree. like he said, its in the contract but as far as enforcing it, there is no worry, unless for crazy data usage. i do it all the time for friends that dont wana pay 30 a/mo. $75 a month is the best possible price you can get unless you work for a company that provides a discount. ie Best Buy is a 21% discount, USPS is 28%...

what about att recognising your imei and changing the plan to match? a friend of mine said that att recognized and changed her plan to a pda plan and her phone as the blackjack she used. anyone hear of this happening?

[[T-Mobile]] 3G Questions

So i recently was on T-Mobiles site purposely seeking for a cheap plan.
My intention during plan custimizaition was to get a cheap plan, a free phone, and to just take the SIM for use on something else.
So i concocted a plan of 300 minutes (29.99), with "Unlimited Web + Unlimited Messages for phones" (19.99) *what A Steal!*. Of which comes to a total of $49.97 Monthly
Now heres the part were i start asking questions. While i know its feasibly possible to just use any carriers SIM on any unlocked GSM Device, what i want to make sure of is that this plan with the "Unlimited Web + Unlimited Messages for phones" would work on just about any Unlocked GSM Device.
The reason for my paranoia, is because of my attention to the "For Phones" on the data plans detail. Am i going to be limited on web browsing, and/or are they using some proxy to route data to only websites? is it strictly cellphone browser limited? My point is... Can i use this "data plan" on any 3G Capable GSM Phone and/or device? And not be bogged/limited to only special "service requirements"?

yea i think its for only reg phones..... i have tmobile and my data plan is 19.99 + 14.99 for unlimited messages and i had just set this up not to long ago for my wing.

Alright so i went back to the site, and there's an option for the "T-Mobile Total Internet" Plan, that if its the only plan selected, you must get it with the T-Mobile Dash.
Well the 3G SIM card in this one be usable on just about any 3G GSM Capable Device so i can use T-Mobiles data with?

Hmm, How confusing. It would seem t-mobile has special data plans for almost all there phones. Some come with $10 data plans (The T-Mobile Shadow WM Phone) and some more expensive. So its really hard to decide whether or not either of these Data plans, would work on any other unlocked GSM device, or just on there specified Phone there coming with.
*sigh* Why cant the US just have a Carrier that provides only 3G Data SIM Cards like the UK?

Cheapest service options for the Nexus 5?

So I am getting a LG G2 paid for by my work on Verizon. I won't have unlimited talk & text but pretty much will (along with 2gb of data). I want to keep my nexus 5 and personal phone number (didn't want to port over my number).
Anyways I want to drop the service down to a cheaper plan that my current straight talk one. I was thinking maybe h20 wireless with the unlimited talk/text w/ 500mb of data for $27 with autopay. Or maybe the tmobile $30 plan.
What do you guys think? Any cheap plans suggestions?

It completely depends on your usage and what networks get decent coverage near you.
For AT&T's network, I don't think H2O gives you anywhere close to 4G speeds, but that may be old information. Aio is $35 a month with 500MB at 8Mbps and unlimited at 128kbps.
On T-Mobile's network, the $30 a month plan is good if you don't need a lot of talk.

I'm on the $30 a month t mobile plan currently, it is a great plan since I don't talk on the phone.
Sadly I live in an area where T mobile service just doesn't cut it. I get full LTE out doors but as soon as I step inside I am down to 1 bar of 'e' or '3g'.
I will be moving to Straight talk (AT&T) for $45 a month in a couple of weeks to compare, definitely worried about ST throttling my data though as I have read they do quite often.

My husband is on the $30 tmo plan. Don't think you can really beat that currently for service...as long as you don't need the minutes.

As long as the area you live in has good T-Mobile coverage, I'd say go with them. I'm paying $80 a month with them, which includes unlimited everything (LTE data as well) and insurance. If you can settle with slower data the $30 plan cannot be beat.

Anyone still using T-Mobile's $30 Plan?

For awhile, I was using my T-Mobile SIM on and off in my Shield Tablet on the $30 5GB plan. It is a phone plan, but T-Mobile had these tablets incorrectly classified as phones, so it was working great.
However, this recent time I put my SIM in, and it is asking me to sign up. My guess is that T-Mobile finally reclassified these devices as tablets, but I wanted to see if anyone was still able to use the $30 5GB plan on their Shield, or if they had to switch to a tablet plan. I'm annoyed because it looks like I might have wasted $30 on a refill.

It would be a lot better to get on Harbor Mobile's $15 5GB LTE Plan. Unlike your plan, it includes unlimited domestic (and even international) data roaming. Also includes unlimited music streaming and unlimited throttled data. Note that Harbor Mobile isn't an MVNO but a business reseller, so you'd still be using a T-Mobile SIM and can still access my.t-mobile.com (You'll need to buy a data SIM tho).

That looks like a pretty good price and plan. I am going to look further into it.
In the meantime, I do use my T-Mobile SIM in a phone most of the time. I liked the flexibility of putting it into my tablet every once in awhile. Does anyone else have any experience using the $30 T-Mobile plan in the Shield Tablet? Did they take away that ability from us?

If you do do decide to sign up with them, use that referral link! If you don't need that much data, another alternative is to get Red Pocket Mobile. You don't get roaming, but it's $5 for .5GB and $10 for 1GB pay as you go. But otherwise the Harbor Mobile plan is unbeatable.

I doesn't work with a regular plan either. I have a 4 line family plan that increases your data to 2.5GB from 1GB and an extra sim card lying around that's not being used in a phone. I tried to put it into the Shield Tablet and it requested me to sign up to a plan even though when I plug it into a phone, it works just fine. Simply ended up with a regular 200mb for life instead for emergencies on a spare t-mobile simcard I had lying around.

T-Mobile has definitely reclassified the NST as a tablet. Phone SIMs will no longer work, unfortunately. I originally had a phone sim in it and I had to swap it out. If you already have a post-paid service with a hotspot, T-Mobile will match your hotspot GBs with data for your tablet for $10.
Mind you .. the NST and T-Mobile don't work perfectly together. My phone gets way better reception than the tablet in certain areas. This is supposedly because the NST doesn't support all the LTE bands that T-Mobile uses. However, when you cross-reference T-Mobiles LTE bands with the NSTs (supposedly) supported bands ... they match. T-Mobile primarily uses band 4 for LTE.

Apparently, the North America LTE Model NST supports band 4 but not the 2100 MHZ part of band 4 ... which is what a large part of T-Mobile uses. I wonder if this can be enabled somehow ...

Hotspot on Verizon????

Hello I'm considering getting this phone. I researched and found that this phone model 1917 is the right one for Verizon it has all its LTE bands and I could give a **** about Wi-Fi calling or visual voicemail or video calling I have apps for that. My big question is about the hot spot for people using this phone on Verizon.
Do you have to do anything to get your hotspot to work properly the reason I don't buy phones from Verizon is I'm on the grandfathered unlimited data plan meaning I don't get throttled after using a certain amount of data it's only $10 more a month than their so-called unlimited plan offered now.
If I switch to a Verizon brand phone they will make me sign up with dere new data plan which only offers 30 gigabytes a month and I would burn through that inside of a couple days.
This is the reason I've been sticking with my HTC u12 plus. The native hotspot on this international phone works right out of the box since it's not Verizon limited software. I just wondered does the hotspot work flawlessly?

I have a 7 Pro but I am on the newest plans; Get More Unlimited.
I got rid of my grandfathered plan because there was no benefit for me and the new ones are cheaper.
There is a provisioning check on some phones. If you root you can bypass the check.

I have the original unlimited plan, like you, and hotspot worked just fine. It worked fine with T-Mobile firmware and global, so no worries at all.

No issues with Verizon hotspot here. Just got CDMA-less enabled on my line and haven't had any service issues whatsoever
