I have a Craig cmp745e and have rooted it and installed cwm. I have found a custom ROM that loads and runs quite nice, the only problem is my touchscreen doesn't work. My question is there a way to get the drivers for my screen off my tablet and make them work with a different rom?

This symptom is exhibited if you flash the wrong kernel for your device, thereby making the touchscreen not to respond. However the hardware buttons might respond. Flash the right kernel for your device.:good:
I'm pretty sure I got the right kernel, I found that the screen works its just off by several inches. I used the stock kernel posted somewhere on here. Before I used the stock kernel I couldn't even get it to load so I think its the right kernel.

Since you are on stock kernel and have found that the screen works then this won't be a kernel problem.:good:

This might be due to a wrong dpi setting of the rom that doesn't match your device's display hardware . You can use an app that changes the dpi setting back to its stock value. Since it is a custom rom, maybe it might have an option to change the dpi in settings.

Since it is off by several inches, it might be difficult to use an app to change the dpi. Its better to edit the rom package zip using a computer to change the dpi back to stock value and again flash this modified zip in CWM.
Follow these steps to edit the custom rom zip file
1. Copy the zip file to the computer and open it using winrar (no need to extract)
2. Navigate to System folder
3. Open the file name build.prop using notepad.
4. Scroll down and under 'Additional_build_properties' look for the line ro.sf.lcd_density = xxx
Replace xxx with stock value and save it.
5. Save the zip for the changes made to be merged.
6. Transfer it to your sd card and flash it.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks! I can't wait to try it. The wireless keyboard I have works great so I'll try to set it from the device.. ..do you think an LCD density app would help of there is no option within the rom?

A wrong dpi setting makes the displayed objects to appear shifted and not all objects will be visible. Hence ensure that you have the stock dpi value.
I tried it with a LCD density app, no matter what I set it to the touch was way off and always by the same amount. I could see the coins and keyboard change size but the screen was off by the same amount each time.

This might be a bug in the custom rom you have used. Ckeck to see if this is a known issue from the site you have downloaded the rom. Perhaps they might provide a fix or an update.

Have you found any solution yet? Im having the same problem with the screen being off by several inches even with the stock image from the craig website flashed back on it.
same with me it started after i flashed the kernal from the craig website.
I never flashed the kernel from the Craig website. I used a rom I had found here. Before I flashed a new rom I used the online nandroid backup app. After I flashed the new rom had the same screen problems. The cwm recovery was installed with the rom and with the help of a cheap wireless keyboard I was able to use my nandroid backup to restore my backup. After it was restored my tab was working fine and I have cwm. Now I'm just trying different things hoping to find a cm rom that will work.

Here is the Nexus s boot animation. It will work with any rom or kernel. Has your favorite kernel or rom change your boot animation well just down load this and flash using clockwork and youll have the stock boot animation back. Alternatively you can unpack the zip and copy bootanimation.zip over to the system/media folder on your phone.

I'll never quite understand why, but it's always bothered me having a different boot screen.. Thank you

Isn't there a way to just restore it? I thought I remember reading on here that you can override a kernel boot animation with whatever one the rom came with... be it stock, cm7, etc.
There is and i have just figured it out with upload the file in a minute

im loving this kernel, but is it possible in future versions to use cm7 built in oc controls instead of setcpu. netarchy kernel is able to use the build in cm7 controls and its nice not having to use an extra app, other than that great work!
I remembered the stupid easy way I was thinking about yesterday. I remembered after reading something that the boot animation is is /system/media. All I did was copy the animation I wanted (in my case the CM7, now using the 3D CM7 one I JUST found) and copied it over the bootanimation.zip that was currently residing in said folder.
Bam, back to stock or whatever boot animation without flashing anything
yes you can do that to. using root explorer. or you can even use adb if you want. the file resides in system/media/bootanimation.zip

My old sony laptop only has 256 mb of ram and 800 mhz processor so it is painfully slow trying to rebuild my linux setup. I have the stock firmwares downloaded to my phone but I'm trying to look at a few differences between stock and CM10 (stock charger doesn't even charge if I'm using the phone with screen on, and I think I may of tweaked some factory settings playing around too much before I installed CM10). I'll figure it out one way or the other but if somebody has that handy it will save me some time and effort.
Also I'm on CM10 with no access to a windows computer so that further limits my options.

Hello there,
I got a problem with installing Open Pdroid on my Galaxy s I9000. Its rooted and running on CM 10.1.0-RC2 and Android 4.2.2.
The thing is, I can't figure out what exactly I am doing wrong.
I used Kobik77's ApG to create the update.zip and restore.zip and had no further issues with it.
On my phone I entered CWM and installed the .zip without any error.
I installed PDroid Manager via Google Play.
So far so good. But now PDroid Manager says: "The PDroid Core has not been detected on your device."
As of now I am not sure whether the patching Process via ApG has been a failure, something went wrong
when installing it via CWM, the PDroid Manager has been buggy, or none of it and I just missed
some detail, like the version I am using is not supported (though I am pretty sure I read somewhere that 4.2.2 and CM 10.1 are supported).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit: my problem has slightly changed. PDroid manager now always asks me to configure it when i install a new app. But when i attempt to do so, it says: "PDroid Manager has been closed."
When i open PDroid manager via the apps icon it still tells me that open pdroid Installation cannot be detected.

You are only flashing the update.zip file, and not the restore.zip as well?

I can't think of anything obvious that would cause this. Are you running the stock Kernel? I would suggest trying a totally clean install of CM with the .zip file you created by ApG. Don't install anything other than the pDroid Manager and test it again. If it's still not working then try with a newer version of CM, possibly the latest nightly for your device.

Actually i have no idea if i run the stock kernal, as I said, I am pretty new to smartphones.
"3.0.76-gc0a8d45

I will install the latest nightly build first and try it again. If possible i want to avoid to go through the trouble
of reinstalling all my apps. Seems like I have to find a good backup solution earlier than expected if I
want to keep as much of my data as possible >.<

The kernel sounds stock - if you don't remeber flashing a different kernel then you're fine. If you're that worried about losing your apps then just flash the latest nightly and use ApG on that version to try - but do a NanDroid backup of everything first, just in case.

OK i screwed and bricked my phone Anyway i managed to try a few things:
I flashed latest CM nightly and tried to get Open PDroid via the update zip from ApG --> failed
I did factory reset and wiped the cache / did a clean install of ONLY (I just tried randome stuff here) the update zip --> failed
I did factory reset and wiped cache / did a clean istall of latest CM nightly, rebooted and installed the ApG update zip --> failed
Each time the PDroid Manager wasn't able to detect a, in my case Open PDroid, installation.
I noticed that it took especially long to initiate the download of PDroid Manager, I mean the bar before the actual download starts. It took a few minutes until sth. happened. Though i doubt it has anything to do with, I just wondered if it may be conflicting with anything in the system. But probably just due to the reset.
I am getting desperate here
Well anyway.. I may have done a mistake, but realized it too late: Did u mean to install without the gapps? .. I did install CM with gapps...
If I was meant to install CM without gapps i will try that tomorrow!
If any different ideas come to mind.. I will try anthing else too.
thanks again..
Hey, my phone's fixed and my problem changed a little, but i dont know if i it is any
progress.
PDroid Manager still displays the same message, that Open PDroid core could not be
detected, but whenever i istall a app now, it asks me to configure it.
When i press the button in the status bar, where it appears, it just says: "PDroid Manager has
been closed".
So basically i can't do anything with it, but it sometimes tells me it's there
any suggestions?
Maybe anyone has the same issue?

For the first custom ROM for the Discover go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2673097
These are stock ROM's for the Samsung Disover SGH-S730M. The will work on the S730G also. I have uploaded these so you can either return to stock or use as a base for your custom development. If you use for custom, please give a mention or a thanks as it took hours upon hours to bring the first flashable ROM to this phone.
Option 1 is bone stock, no root, no busy box, no over clock. After flashing this option CWM will ask you if you want to fix root before you reboot from recovery. Select no. If you want root, download option 2 or 3.
Option 2 is stock, with root and busy box added.
Option 3 is stock, with root, busybox and overclocked to 1000mhz
No other changes have been made.
I have flashed and test all three to verify they are flashing and working properly
Option 1 Download: http://d-h.st/S2R
Option 2 Download: http://d-h.st/cI9
Option 3 Download: http://d-h.st/5FZ
Installation:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Flash
3. Wipe Dalvik
4. Reboot
Enjoy!
Waaoooo!, i download, try and come back you, great job
Edit: Install download Option 2, work

In the download option 3 you have set kernel with clock at 1000mhz, and he start at 122mhz too ? or it's 245mhz ?
I used option 2 with NoFrillsCPU for setting cpu at 122mhz. I listen music without problem with bluetooth too.
This rom is stable and no problem with battery. Again great job
Minimum is set at 122 max is 1000. It usually runs between 480 and 600, only boosts up to 800-1000 when needed. It's safe to run option 3, and use nofrills, cpu tuner, set cpu etc, and set the max to 800, then if your playing a game or watching you tube, and find your lagging a bit you at least have the option to bump it up to 1000. Then just set it back when your done. That's how I run it

I have no intentions of building an Odin flashable version as of right now. There's no real need for it as of yet, and the risk of hard bricking your device grows exponentially if you get one thing wrong in an Odin flashable tar.md5 vs a flashable zip. What do you need it for?

The only thing I have found is flashing the "M" to the "G" you have to manually transfer the apn data after the flash. Or you can't send or recieve mms messages. Other than that no problems.
