[Q] "Low Res" contact pics? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello fellow RAZR'S,
I am new to the RAZR series from OG HTC Evo 4g. And let me tell you this phone makes me feel as giddy and amazed as I did moving from the OG iPhone to my Droid2....
anywho...
I am wondering if there is a fix for my contacts pics. They are blurry, fuzzy, LOW RES....and it has become an eyesore when going from HD res to .......that.
Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to development and fun with you all!!!

Download haxsync app from play store, it'll give you high res images

Captivate to Inspire to atrix to Inspire!

Well, after 2 weeks 'away' to an Atrix, today I came back to the Inspire. Although the Atrix is smaller, higher resolution, has better sound and video, and an excellent battery, the inspire is simply a better all round experience IMHO. It's Sense that does it.

just wish one company can make a high capacity battery for Inspire, then the phone will be perfect.
I agree. I went from the inspire to the atrix, and then back to the inspire.

I sold my Atrix and nexus One, then kept my Inspire, but battery goes fast.
did the same today... i wanted to keep the atrix, but the "customization limitations" were wearing on me. i bricked 2 of them along the way... i'll wait for the next dual-core device (do you hear me HTC??)..
Interestingly this Inspire has much better sound on both speaker and ear than my first one. Not so tinny.

Firmware could be different, I've already done so much to this phone and don't have the issues that some are reporting here and there.
Best to leave well enough alone.
Glad I never returned this unit and went with the atrix myself just for some more battery life.

I tried the atrix for a couple of days. Yeah the battery is good and the phone is fast. But Damn its so ugly. Doesn't feel like a high end.piece of hardware. Screen res is good but to be honest to my eyes the Inspire screen is real good anyway. My buddy works at AT&T and he says the atrix just isn't selling anywhere close to what they hoped. I will stick with my rooted inspire and keep my captivate as a backup.

I started with the Atrix and didnt like it. I hated how dull and washed out the screen looked.
After rooting my Inspire, flashing Coredroid, and overclocking to 1,6ghz, I love my Inspire,

Here is my story, I was eligible for upgrade this Februray (had a iphone 3GS since last two years), wanted to try android phone and was waiting for Atrix, once Atrix become available I went to AT&T to try it, played with it for few mins, next to the Atrix was Inspire and I got a chance to play with that also, really liked the big screen and how smooth everything felt, didn't like Atrix that much.
That night I went to RadioShack to buy Inspire, paid 39.99 for the phone (I traded an old nokia and got 50 dollars off and used 10 of 40 coupon).
Remember I wanted to buy Atrix and was reading mostly about it, Inspire was like an impulse buy and I was really enjoying it but wanted to try Atrix also, so I went to Radioshack again and got Atrix off the contract, told salesman that if I like it I will buy it on contract and will return Inspire.
Got home and started using Atrix, the scrolling was not as smooth as Inspire, I noticed that sometimes I had to flick my fingers couple of times on the screen before it register it, next I tried a 2hr 720P MP4 video file (this worked flawlessly on Inspire), with Atrix I got the error that Video is not supported, I downloaded RockPlayer Lite and open the file with that, the video was choppy on Atrix ( Video was choppy on Inspire also if I played with RockPlayer).
Next morning I took both Atrix and Inspire with me after fully charging it, used my wife's sim card in Inspire, setup yahoo mail, gmail, hotmail, exchange on both the phones with push settings. Next was to test GPS, started google navigation with Satellite Images on both the devices, didn't connect either of them to the charger, the GPS worked flawlessly on both without any issue but Atrix it seemed used a lot more battery than Inspire, when I started my drive both phones were almost fully charged, after my 30 mins drive Atrix was at 60% while Inspire was at 70%, after reaching office I didn't play much with both the phones I just let them sit except for few 4-5 mins calls and 10-15 mins of browsing, by afternoon, Atrix was down to 40% battery whereas Inspire was about 60%. I made up my mind, took Atrix to Radioshack and returned it.
I have inspire with me since last 4 days now and battery performance is not an issue at all, I generally unplug it 6:00am in the morning and by the time I go to bed (11:00pm) it is down to 20-25%, this is with the moderate use of phone.
Few things which I noticed.
Browsing is much better on Inspire than on Atrix with the bigger screen and fonts.
The video format support is not very good on both the devices, I was able to play an MP4 and Xvid AVI on Inspire but it didn't play any mkv file, Atrix was able to play xVid AVI but there was no audio, also no luck playing MP4/MKV file.
I connected Atrix through HDMI to my Panasonic Plasma and played some video files which I recorded in 720p format in atrix, the quality was OK, I am not sure if it was HD though.
One more thing, I liked HTC sense much better than Moto Blur.

Same. Took the word out of my mouth.
BlackBerry Torch -> Inspire 4G -> ****rix -> Inspire 4G
So happy to have the Inspire back. Now I'm stuck with an Epik Case for the ****rix with no use
Captivate to Atrix to Inspire for me. I also have my Captivate on standby just in case.

Battery can be better of course...
Just bought a higher capacity aftermarket battery from a retailer here in the States.
It worked for my HTC Dream so we will see if it makes the Inspire better in battery life or blows it up seeing that its made in China (I knew this prior to purchasing)
Im ready to risk it all for the community as a whole.
Wish me luck, if I see an improvement Ill post up the link to the product.

I was considering whether to get the atrix or the inspire and went for the inspire.
Motorola blur is terrible not to mention the bootloader, the small screen, the cheap feel and all that nonsense.
I absolutely love the inspire.
It's not that loud but there but CM7 will release a rom enabling volume boost.
Display is fabulous. 4.3 inches of beauty.
I score almost 3300 on quadrant.
The dev community for the htc inspire/desire is fantastic.
They had the phone rooted, rommed, and overclocked the day it came out.
Some people have trouble with the gps.
I don't use it myself.
But i hear it's pretty good for those who got it to work. (theres a fix)
I play n64 games on it no problem. No lag.
Watch flash movies online.
Listen to music.
It feels as though it makes my cheap sony headphones sound like 100$ sennheisers.
It's very fast.
and it's built like a tank.
Have you held one?
You be the judge.
There's a story around the inspire general forum of some guy's inspire surviving being under a car.
and IMO the whole atrix thing is a scam.
Motorola release this "state of the art" dual core phone.
yet hardly anything for phones support it.
and with motoblur + all the motojunk on it, you won't be getting performance any better than a desire/inspire.
Go try it out!
Inspire. I've owned both phones since their release dates and I think the inspire is much better. I just couldn't bring myself to keep the atrix. Ditto on the low quality feeling, motoblur sucking, etc.
Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
FYI, Atrix price is dropping like flies.
Cartoys.com has it for $29 after rebate for new account.
They also have the Inspire for $0.
I was also looking at getting the atrix or the inspire as my first android phone. After playing around with both at the store, I decided on the Inspire.
*Did not feel plasticy like the atrix.
*UI was much better.
*The 4.3 screen which looks much nicer and crisper than the atrix.
I have had it for about a week now and I am loving it!
I owned both. Lots of reasons why Atrix is better (speed, battery, video and audio quality, camera quality etc) but im sticking with the inspire because its just a better overall experience.

Do you seriously think the Atrix camera is better than the Inspire's? The Inspire's camera blows the Atrix out of the water in terms of camera. Also I don't experience audio problems with my Inspire like others do. The Dolby Digital option when listening to music is amazing. Just my 2 cents. Ithink the Inspire is a much more enjoyable device

WTT HTC inspire 4g for Atrix 4g or iphone 4g

I am looking to trade my inspire for a moto atrix 4g because my dad is going to get the thunderbolt and i want a front facing camera to video call him.
I m looking for a almost new/ no scatches atrix. My HTC inspire is in a Otterbox from the beggining and has no scratches. Is used for 2 months now.
Don't do it. The front facing camera on the atrix sux...very poor quality to the point where its not worth it. And chances are, much like most atrix owners, you will find yourself trading it back in for an inspire. You might as well save yourself the trouble.

Ohh ok. So i may need to see if i can change it to an iphone or other android with ffc
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
You my friend are in a pickle. With att, at the moment, if u absolutely need a front facing camera, its either the iPhone or the atrix. I wouldn't go with either. Instead, if I were you, I would wait for the realease of the Samsung infuse and see how its ffc is, as well as the phone itself.

Yup, don't do it, just 'cause he sais so. Or just go in the att store take the atrix and open the camera app, switch to front cam and you'll be pretty pleased with the quality. Is more than enough for my atrix and especially for videocalling over att's 4G network.
Edit: btw, both iPhone and Atrix have same resolutions.

I would honestly get the iPhone over the atrix . Go use both for an extended period if you can. The lag of the atrix is annoying as hell and yet to be cracked. The iPhone runs smoother and you can jailbreak it, it also has amazing games and the battery lasts longer. Try them both and get what You like. also you will ne amazed at how much you DON'T use the facetime/videochat. At least most people I know don't use it.

why trade for sth worse?
Sounds like a good excuse to get a tablet lol but I have heard too many bad things about the atrix.

Verizon Galaxy S III love this phone.

Verizon Galaxy S III, i love this phone and have gone extra mile to fix the issues.
Yea. I traded in my Razr Maxx for this phone. Though I miss the battery life - this is an awesome phone. One difference that I wasn't expecting was that the wider screen on the S III compared to my previous phone would make such a huge difference but it does.

I was comparing the stock email app UI with my Droid Incredible the other week and the Galaxy S III display, speed, etc. made my Incredible look like a toy.
Without the Galaxy S III around for reference, my Incredible is absolutely cool and smooth looking+feeling. Bring the Samsung into the field of view and that impression gets thrown out the window . . . with the window and the wall that held the window.
- ooofest
About the Incredible - that phone is still probably the nicest phone to hold from a size/texture perspective.
I also got the white S3 and having a white border around the screen also made a much bigger difference than I thought.

Man I'm coming from the ORIGINAL Motorola Droid a couple years back. This has been my first upgrade since. Yea you know it... love this phone!
I got verizon to swap my Droid Razr ( Not maxx) for a S3 for FREE. This phone rocks, thanks verizon for giving me a phone that works with flash player again and has a working Wifi and GPS.
That with 4G that is not trash so far that's nice too. ( They fixed my 4G issue's with the ICS update on the razr, but WIFI,GPS and FLASH PLAYER all got shot + more.)
Edit: "Old Droid razr Video" in my sig shows why I started hating that phone. ( If you wanted to know, before taking up for the Razr.)

True HD wallpapers

Hey guys, just wanted to share this with you. I'm always searching for crisp wallpapers, and never can find good ones that I like. The apps never give you true HD ones that look good with this screen. This screen is beautiful and I want a wallpaper that shows that. I found this website and thought I'd share it. Its nothing but walls designed for the retina display on the iPad so they all look wonderful. Hope you enjoy. 2048px.com
