Hey y'all thought someone might be able to use these, not sure for what but what the hell My girlfriend smashed her MyTouch Q in the car door and upgraded to a new phone so I'm able to share these Tore it all down in about 15 minutes. She ended up smashing the glass front and punctured the digitizer ribbon.

Hey guys I dropped my SGH-I727R on my driveway. It still works fine but the band around the phone (the bezel?) got scratched and dented, the front and back are still perfect. I am coming over from blackberry and this is my first android. With blackberry you can get a new housing is it possible to do the same with the SGH-I727R. Sorry for the noob question. Thanks in advance.

i dont think so. It's probably better to just get a case that will cover up the blemish. I dropped it on to cement the 2nd day i owned the damn thing. Stupid ass slippery sides
I think I found the part
Hey I think they have replacement housing at globaldirectparts (.com). I can't post URL's yet. I am not sure how to install but I think I could take it to a cell repair shop. Hope this helps others. One caveat though, globaldirectparts does not sell to regular joes. Will get the repair shop to order the part, hopefully. Just search for SGH-I727 on globaldirectparts.
I'm trying to find somewhere decent that carrys parts for the skyrocket that isn't stupid expensive, i know these digitizer lcd combos aren't all 180+$
my lcd is fine, so what im wondering if anyone has torn one of these bad boys apart, or if they only make the combos.
Any suggestions for websites that have digitizers for the skyrocket would make my day!
Dropped my phone last night, cracked digitizer...derp
same situation on my old black skyrocket... just a digitizer would be nice
So, has anybody been able to find the outer glass only? I can't order the $200 digitizer+lcd... makes no sense...
Prices have gone down a little, they're at 150 now, Google mengtor

I have also been looking everywhere for just a glass/digitizer as I also cracked my glass from a drop after hours of looking around it seems they are still about $150 at the cheapest...

If you can't find a cheap digitizer, you could maybe part it out on eBay and then just buy a whole phone used.
Does anyone know where I can get a main rear camera for this?
Hey y'all. I dropped my white SR a while back and repaired the screen myself. I used http://www.cellphone-repair-shop.com/samsung-skyrocket-sgh-i727/
They have the best prices on parts that I could find. You can do it all yourself too. Just google instructions for replacing the parts.
To repair the LCD/digitizer, you have to replace the entire front, not just the glass. It's an all in one unit, that's why it's so expensive. I followed these instructions: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1758028-How-To-replace-I727-screen
Yup. The digitizer and its circuitry are attached to the screen (glass) with some wicked adhesive. Its an all-in-one piece that is also glued into the carriage. It comes out from the front. Just replaced mine last night lol.

I just bought a htc inspire 4g with a cracked digitizer from ebay for 76$
the thing is,I live in Romania, and we don't have inspire 4g here so I can't find a replacement for the screen
but I can find digitizers for the Desire HD around 25$
but would the digitizer be compatible 100%?
i need to be sure
thanks
Most likely not. If you were able to find the inspire on eBay there is no reason why you can't find the digitizer for it there as well.

that's why I asked this
cause some of the items names were like htc desire " hd/inspire 4g difitizer "
someone who knows for sure pelase answer
I recently purchased a digitizer for my inspire from ebay(I live in America, not sure if there is any difference in Ebays). It said desire HD/Inspire 4g (same phones built for different markets). Unfortunately when I got it the connector wire was cut too short, so make sure you read user reviews better than I did. I ended up buying both the screen and the digitizer together after that since in my frustration I broke my old LCD screen.
If you do end up switching out the screen be careful it is easy to mess up and keep the screws separated from each other because they aren't interchangeable.
I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I just bought and replaced the lcd/digi for my phone. Went to start it up and the digitizer wouldn't recognize my finger. Thank god for androidscreencast or I would have been screwed until the new phone showed up. (Ended up just buying a new Inspire)
Anyways, it would be nice to know if they sent me a faulty unit or if the digitizer isn't compatible.
graresf.... if you do go forth on this swap out, be careful. It really is easy to mess things up on this phone. Horror stories are all over the comments of videos on youtube that show how to do it.
Oh... and when it shows you separating the frame from the screen. Be careful not to mess that plastic trim peice up that is attached to the frame. I did and now you can see a silver rim around the edge of the screen and things dont mesh up quite as nicely as they used to...
same thing
The inspire4g is just a variant of the htc desire series! now the desire HD and the inspire4g are the same phone (hd)europe (4g)america. i just replaced my digitizer via eBay and yes the sellers item description said "Htc desireHd,Inspire4g digitizer replacement. but you also need the adhesive and don't forget about the light tubes on the old digitizer or your utility buttons on the bottom will NOT glow. good luck.. have patience!
I unfortunately dropped and broke the screen on my phone. Is this all I need to replace it? http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-htc-one-s-glass-lens.html
Unfortunately no. The screen and digitizer are fused together. I've seen some talk about ways of separating using heat but there's a high failure rate busting the digitizer too. I'm in the same boat. Actually deciding to bite the bullet or wait for Nexus 4 to come in stock.

Hello, well I drop my infuse last week and crack just the glass. A guy I know that works at a cell phone repair store sold me a $10 glass for my phone. Well I've started reading and they say that the glass and LCD are fuse together. Is there away to just repair the glass. I thought maybe taking my hot knife and carefully cutting just around the edge and then take a long thin boxcutter ( I've got one as long as the phone and it really thin) and heating up the blade and very carefully slide down while my girlfriend runs a hair blower up and down the screen.
I thought I take the blade and my hot gluegun and make some grips on the sides of the razor blade so I don't cut my hand. What do you guys think of this.
If you know of someone that has done it and can give me there names so I can PM them that be great. One thing thought I don't wont to mess the phone up. This is all I have until the SG4 comes out in the states. Which should be in a few days but I've got to wait until after the 3rd to be able to pay for it. Thanks for reading this.
By the way, could they do it at a cellphone store or would they also need to buy the LCD digitizer to fix it.
Google is your friend in this matter. There are several good sites and YouTube videos related to replacing a screen readily available online. Best of luck in replacing it

If you just cracked the glass and see no bleeding from the LCD you can just replace the glass but its a pain in the ass separating it from the LCD without cracking it. My suggestion is to use a really hot blow dryer or a heat gun preferably..separate them, then you'll have to re-adhere the new glass to the LCD. If you have super glue you can use it but use very very little or you'll ruin the screen. I would recommend buying an infuse specific glass replacement adhesive sticker thing on eBay. They're less than 5 bucks  if you need any help feel free to pm me.

What about using a real thin guitar string. You think that might be better to use since the string will give a little and with the razor it might nic the LCD. What do you guys think.
