Phone enters recovery mode when I connect to DC charge - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi all,
I searched the forum but couldn't find a related problem.
My case happens like this:
I close (shut down) the phone properly. Then I connect it to DC Charge and it enters the recovery mode. Is there any reason and solution for this problem?
I'm using TheFrankestain Mod (on original DDLF2) + S3 Theme by Androman1507 + Bam bck kernel fix 14.
I have been using this rom for 1,5 weeks and unfortunately didn't realize if it was happening from the beggining.
I will be grateful to any help...
(Edit:Correction)

try remove battery atleast 1minute , then press all buttons .vol down, vol up, power, and home button. Atleast 5times each. .then try to put battery in your unit. Your problem was happened to me.

Sorry but this started to happen again. I realized that it happens just after I take a cwm backup... I'm using Bam kernel 14fix. Is there any permanent solution for this? I don't wanna remove the battery everytime...

try custom roms.

I dont think its related with rom, because i tried another alarm app and it worked fine. My problem is with stock alarm app..

[Q] Help me. Battery is not working after rom update.

My first rom is LGP920-V08i-APR25-2011. I upgraded it with V10b_00.kdz. However the O3D turned off after booting. If I connect with USB cable, it is working well. but battery level is zero. if I disconnect the cable, it turned off. It is impossible to charge. The level is zero and blinking. So I upgrade it with V10d with rom manager. However the result is same. I didn't back up my phone at first time Is there any solution?? Help me...
Did you try removing the battery for a while and then putting it back in?
Take out the battery and clean the contacts carefully by scraping with a penknife or similar. Do this to the phone connectors too. Sounds like bad/dirty contacts to me.

I have another battery. the result is same. If I work in the ClockworkMod Recovery, the battery works well. This problem is about system....
So, the battery charges when you are in clockwork recovery?
I can work in clockwork recovery without USB cable just with battery. That means lg rom system can not recognize the battery in S/W. actually battery is no problem.
You could try wiping your Dalvik Cache (just to be sure) and wiping your Battery Stats through Clockworkmod, maybe it helps.
I can wiped Dalvik Cache However it is impossible to wipe my Battery Stats through Clockworkmod. The result is same.... Do you have another idea to solve the problem??
Why my O3D can not wipe Battery Stats in the Clockworkmod? If I do this, there is no massage and retune to advanced menu. Every options except Wipe Battery Stats work very well... why?????
Nobody knows how to solve this problem?? Pls help me. Thanks
Are u using the original wall charger? LG charger that is. I have plenty phones that won't charge on computer USB when completely dead or even with aftermarket wall chargers. Also some phones are actually smart enough to tell if u are not using an OEM spec charger.

Thanks for your reply. I tested my battery in my friend's O3D. And it works very well. I
think I have to use another rom/firmware...
I decided to wait Cyanogenmod on O3D. Thanks everyone...
Good luck . Let me know what happens if u try the old rom or did u already.

Hey man.... i posted in other topic and i don´t think anybody tried.... try to get the batterystats.bin file with someone who has a normal file. Try to put it in the right directory, it sounds stupid, but perhaps it can work, tell me later!!!
Using Root Explorer: data>system>batterystats.bin see if the file is there and if not, put there a normal one

I tried it today, did not work. I tried also deleting the file, and restart the device, nothing!
I think this problem occurs with some specific versions of this model (not for sale), like mine. I don t believe that I spent $ 600 a paperweight: (

So i was running cm10 and i wanted to install a kernel. I when to install and kernel via rom manager.. When i tried to install in the screen went black and i havent been able to get the phone to turn on since,,,, i noticed when i try to put the phone into dload mode nothing happens... When i plug the phone into the wall charger the led light turns on as if it was charging but i dont have the battery in.. If i put the battery in and i push the volume down home and power nothing happens...can someone please help??? Please!!!!!!!!! I think the kernel was something like k74 something like that...
If you arent able to get into download mode, or even get a vibrate out of the phone, then sadly it may be hard bricked. I don't understand how flashing a kernel could hard brick the phone, though. At any rate, worst case scenario is you will have to send the unit in for a JTAG repair if you are unable to get it to boot in any way.

Welcome to AOKP/CM. lol Wouldn't use rom manager myself but hold on a few and Droidstyle or Annoying duck should chime in soon. I don't remember how bricked that means. Maybe able to leave battery out awhile and get it back.

i have never heard of jtag... can you give me more info just in case
JTAG is the only way to recover from a hard brick. It is a service that is performed by only one (or maybe a few) companies in the world for the S3 (and many many other devices). Heres a link to the service, which starts at $60, and a link to the video of the S3 being unbricked.

Try leaving the device plugged into the charger for a hour or so then try to get into odin mode...if still nothing then it sounds like you flashed a kernel that was for the international s3.

Did you install the 10/14 nightly? I noticed that when I installed the 10/14 nightly and then installed leankernel over that my phone would no longer boot. A simple flash back to M2 and leankernel fixed the issue. 10/14 had a lot of kernel updates so I think that's the problem.
VolUp+Home+Power to boot back into recovery I believe.
Do all of your flashing manually in the future. ROM Manager = no.

[Q] Sensation wont boot or charge

Hello
I have an s-off htc sensation with cm10 and recovery etc its been running great for ages with this setup.
The phone completely ran out of battery and shut down. I left it on charge overnight and in the morning it would not switch on.
I have read a LOT of threads on here and elsewhere about this issue and have tried the fixes you guys have suggested for similer issues (usb charging, new battery, battery pulls)
I dont think that the usb debugging mode was enabled on my phone so i cant use the commands to restart it etc
When charging, the orange light blinks for about 5 seconds, then is on constantly until the phone boots all on its own to the htc logo screen, then goes black with no orange light. (it did this with the old dead battery and the new one)
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Such a great problem you have :crying: well, you can try re-flashing the ROM again. If it is not working maybe it is the ROM weakness. AOKP (your ROM series) is more unstable than AOSP ROM (like Android Revolution HD, ViperS, JB MIUI, and other).
The most possible reason for your problem is your ROM, so if re-flashing the rom does not help you, you can try flash a AOSP ROM. May the force be with you
When my advice helps you, try the THANKS button

Very strange that a new battery didn't fix this... same thing happened to me but mine died while charging some how and I didn't even have a charging light! However, in my case a brand new battery fixed my issue instantly. You can try a new rom if you can somehow flash it and see if it helps.. one question, was the other battery you tired new? Just curious? Hope you can get this issue resolved. If the battery you tired wasn't new in last effort if nothing else works, try a new battery. Like I said, it worked for me.. I wish I could be of more help. Best of luck and keep us informed. I've read of this happening when battery is ran out before and I wish I knew what causes this.. very strange. Good luck

Yup the battery was brand new off amazon....
Any ideas of how I can flash a rom without being able to boot into recovery?
Some one else might know this answer but have you tried, pulling battery, putting battery back in, immediately press power and volume down and hold it... recovery should pop up after that. Then go to wipe and wipe data factory reset, then install rom, or you can go to backup restore and restore your nandroid back up. Try to get into recovery this way. Hope it helps let me know. Best wishes. If you did try, couldn't hurt to try again keep hold of volume down and power and see if recovery will boot. If not you might be able to do it though computer but I can't help with that. Maybe someone else can help with fast boot commands on the computer. But it would hurt to try to pull battery again. And give it a go. Good luck

i assume it stays on at least after booting
if yes then connect it to pc
go to the folder where you have adb and fastboot files and open a command window there
then do
adb
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
see if it works

No the phone screen just goes black after the HTC screen and sometimes randomly flashes grey!? So the computer cannot detect it when connected by usb .
Really need to get to recovery it seems
This happened to me the other day, I have a charger that came with the battery off amazon and I gave it a full charge on that. After I put it in fully charged my phone was fine. I was nearly fully through flashing when this happened. I got back to bootloader and flashed 4ext recover and flashed my rom.

[Q] AT&T bootloop or suddent reboot

Hi, i have been looking for answers on the forum, and i learn new things but not how to fix this or what is causing it.
I have buyed i997 from a reseller. He sayd it doesnt work because it have bootloop, but i thinks that is not too much problem getting it working again, so i started searching for the pc drivers n software, then i find here in the forum the stock rom with and without root, i tested them both with odin and the bootloop stills present. I wipe cache and do a factory reset but it keep bootlooping, then think maybe if i update to latest AT&T rom, but no luck.Sometimes the phone just start and theres no bootloop but its very rare and most of the time when i get to the lock screen or setup manager suddently a gapps or something crash and my phome freezes and reboot. I flashed the carbon-jb-v1.6 and suddently it worked fine, no more bootloop and everything smooth,no crashes etc.. then i installed Facebook app and when i was ttyping a message the phone froze up and then restarts, and the bootloop came again, and im stuck on it, and when i pass it, which is very rare, i start typing info in the startup manager and the phone freezes and reboot.. I wipe/format cache, dalvik, factory reset, formated system and data before and after flashing the carbon rom again and it keeps bootlooping. Somebody have similar problems or know how to fix it?
Thanks
P.d. sorry for my bad english.

Thanks man, but you think it can be the power button? When i unplug the battery and put it again the phone doesnt turn on or something, and when it boot up when i lock the screen with the power button it works fine. I set the cpu governor to conservative and since yesterday i didnt have any problem, but sometimes the phone reboots when typing, i think its someting with the processor or when the phone have little ram or something.
Thanks.

If you ran the phone on complete stock GB or FROYO and you are getting boot loops, it may be a hardware issue.
One of the few things that will give you boot loop with the samsung logo while using the phone is the power button.
Either way, it's no big deal to open it and clean it up to see if the problem goes away.

Bootlog Uptime will keep a record of all boots from an Android OS perspective ... It will also track crashes... It won't track events outside of a complete restart (i.e. power button bootloops.. But those are pretty obvious when they occur)
For hardware testing, try Z Device Test... That won't tell you about the buttons though... If your screen turns on without pressing power button or from any other standard event (like receiving a text or a phone call), or the phone restarts by itself, time to get cleaning..

Weird sudden death

Hi all.
I have searched this forum (I know it's very frowned upon to start a thread without doing so) but the symptoms don't completely match my issue so I've resorted to asking.
I have a Nexus 5, which I was using as a hotspot, tethering to an Amazon fire stick, when it switched itself off.
It hasn't booted since, I've tried all possible button combinations for up to 2 minutes and still nothing.
If connected to a charger I get the white battery icon with the lightning bolt for a few seconds then blank screen, this will loop until unplugged.
When I have the battery icon on screen I can hold power button and it will display "Google" and vibrate as if starting to boot, then go blank again.
Have reinstalled original battery and the symptoms remain the same.
Am on marshmallow 6.0.1 totally stock am also out of warranty.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try to boot in bootloader mode if it boots connect to it comp and then unlock the bootloader if not and install latest Twrp if not then flash a custom rom and boot it then flash factory images .. Done. Back to Stock!
Try booting in bootloader mod while connecting it do the charger. (Wall charger )

Thanks for the suggestion but can't get into bootloader mode, it's only alive for about 3-4 seconds if plugged in then it goes off and then back to the white battery.

Mother board problem or change try changing ur battery... Surely Mother Board problem! Coz while u were connected to a hotspot and then u switched off it.. The battery would suddenly undervolt ur motherboard... And Undervolting id Very Very bad even if u change it from software or hardware...This had happen to my Sis nexus 5. .. So given it a chance changing the battery! Coz that helped Me.. But also try booting in bootloader mod and flashing twrp it will save couple of Bucks and Time
Press the thanks button if this helps
I would replace the battery first. It seems like the battery was completely drained while hotspotting.
Are you using the original USB cable and charger that came with the phone?

Yes using the original charger, still does the same on power bank and old Samsung charger.
I'll give a battery swap another go.

If battery swap doesn't help is the motherboard easy to swap out? Providing I can find a replacement?
Motherboard is very easy to swap out.
Update, put original battery back in for the second time, first time didn't make a difference, possibly took longer this time. But all is good now.
Thanks to all
