I will post here good apps compatible with A8

To increase the responsiveness of our touch screen this is a must have app, though the dev suggests it only for SGS, I have used it on our device and it works like a charm. I got real responsiveness boost in the games like Fruit Ninja, Temple run, Agent Dash, etc.

thanks. Please could someone help me with switching between internal and external memory in A8? As the internal memory is low, I want to install the apps/games in external card.
Also, is anyone aware if I use a 32gb, will it properly? would the cellfone be slow?
to move apps to external memory Goto settings app Manager and then in the sdcard tab select the apps that are not ticked. Now click on move to sdcard and the app will be automatically moved to sdcard. You can use 32gb with your phone. I am using 16gb and it's running great.

thanks bro. but I was thinking of a method whereby the apps/games install directly on sd-card instead of this moving process. I also want to install some gameloft games and it installs the data files in internal memory. Any way around that?

If your device is rooted, you may opt for Link2SD perhaps. There are heaps of threads on implementation of Link2SD.

I did not write this. I got this idea from ssserpentine and used it for the Galaxy Tab. Wanted to see if it worked for the MT4G and the Droid Charge, and it does. I use it to play Fruit Ninja.
Many thanks to ChainFire for writing this awsome program...... Chainfire3d
visit thread here...., Don't forget to hit HIS THANKS button while there.
What you need.....
To be ROOTED!!!! YEP thats pretty much it.
Go to the Market and download "[ROOT] ChainFire 3D". You can use the Free version, or just go ahead and chalk up the $4 for the paid version.
Download the Nividia Lib from the bottom of this post. Put on /sdcard/
Install CF3D Driver by clicking Install/upgrade/ uninstall CF3D driver.
Then Set the CF3D as the Driver. It will run a script and reboot.
Open Chainfire3D:
Install Plugin
(will search your /sdcard/ and show
Install Plugin
libGLEMU_NVIDIA.zip
/
Click the Nivida Plug-in. It will install it. When you see plug-in install complete. Press back button, and select
Default OpenGL Settings.
Click: Use plugin. Select Nvidia. Exit !
Now go to the Market and Search for Tegra Zone.
Install Tegra Zone from market.
Now you can download and play Tegra2 Zone games on your Droid Charge without "Hardware not supported error"
I have downloaded and playing games I payed for while on another phone (i.e. fruit ninja) So I can confirm that downloading games from the Tegra Zone and playing them on the Droid Charge works. There were some that said when we tested this out on the MT4G that they couldn't get games to download. As far as not being able to pay for games. I payed using my Google account. I have heard that for some reason people could not pay for full games.
NOTE: NOT ALL GAMES WILL WORK AS THEY ACTUALLY NEED THE TEGRA2 TO RUN. MOST JUST RUN OFF THE NVIDIA HD DRIVER.
DO NOT PURCHASE BANG BANG RACING!!!!!! It needs specific hardware that cannot be emulated at this point.
Confirmed working:
Samauri II
Riptide
Pinball thd
Fruit ninja thd
Backbreaker thd
The PowerVR Driver is included. The default driver for the Droid Charge is the PowerVR SGX 540. If you want to play Madden. Sometime the SGX 540 does not work. (I can't verify this as i don't play Madden and do not have it. Just what i've gotten back from research)
Reserved Space.
I can play Fruit Ninja without this mod. But I didn't purchase it from Market - I got it from the Amazon appstore since it was cheaper there. Maybe that's the difference?
The graphics seem to be subpar, though (not high res).

Thats because it's not the THD version of the game. You are playing regular Fruit Ninja.
I followed the directions in this thread and was able to download and install CF3d, the plugins and Tegra Zone app. However, I'm getting a "Non-Tegra device detected" error any time I try to download anything from the Tegra Zone app. If I try to search from the android market, the games don't show up.

The tegra games will not show up in the regular android market. And make sure you have Nvidia set as your default driver. You may not have selected it.

How do you buy Tegra games if you can't download them from the android market?
As mentioned. this seemed to hit and miss for some reason. I never had any problems downloading tegra 2 games or downloading them. Only game i could never get to work right was Madden. I also have a credit card connected to my tmobile and google accounts, so my purchases were 1 click purchases.

I wonder if is this new market that is in the Humble ROM?
Edit: Eureka! I used TB to wipe the data from the Market. Downloading Riptide now
Maybe update the OP with the Market wipe in case things don't show up?
What is the best way to get applications for the Tab Plus? The one thing that continues to be a thorn in my side is the limited selection of apps for this tablet. I'll see an application recommended or advertised, and hit Google Play and nothing, I'll check on my PC and see the app isn't available for my device.
I also have this problem with magazines on Amazon. The magazine works on the Fire but not the Tab Plus?
This is clearly a major problem for Android. Couldn't the apps just have an "intended for 7 inch screens" label or "intended for honeycomb"? If it works great, if not get your refund.
Sent from my GT-P6210 using XDA Premium HD app
I have had that problem on some apps but when I installed it "in another way", it works perfectly. The "way" though is kind of illegal for some apps, but not for free ones.
Last version of Ustream app don't work, always show server error when try to watch a video.
Also last stumpleupon app is kind of buggy.
Wat abt apps if we install as apk. Does tat work for backward compatible appa??

ok you must root your tablet if havent so; look for the details of tablet that has similar properties as the tab+ such as the tab 7.7 or the galaxy s2; and change the following (if using the 7.7)
ro.product.model=GT-P6800
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=GT-P6800
ro.product.device=GT-P6800
btw order& chaos game shows as purchasable.... not sure what would happen if you switch back i haven't; don't see the need.

Thanks, i dealt with this problem easier. Went to gameloft site and bought O&C there (is it cheaper to buy it there anyway) and just chose P6800 as my device. Installed the game, runs without problems. Just in case anyone wants to buy O&C.
has anyone found a reliable legal way to get EA games working in cm9/10?
they require extra data on the sd card, but the EA servers never allow me to download the right data.
this is a problem I've always had with Wi-Fi tablets.
my current "solution" is to use the data from my phone and fixing compatibility problems with chainfire 3D and the nvidia plugin, but that won't work with cm10.

which mode you use 3g or wifi?use wifi to download it works for me...
as mentioned before, mine is wifi-only.
if you can download fine over wifi while running cyanogenmod that must mean you need a 3g capable device for ea games.

yes, the US version of galaxy tab 2 doesn't have sim card slot, but have infrared blaster port.
The International version have sim card slot, and can make phone call, but doesn't have infrared port.

Did you change your DPI on your tab 2 7"? I think that was my problem, I've since reverted back to 160 dpi and I have no problems downloading EA games extra data over my wifi. I assume you were getting the NaN on your download bar.
i never touched the dpi settings.
and the exact error varies.
some games get the nan problem you mentioned, i think nfs shift tells me to contact ea support, and nfs hot pursuit's updating popup keeps opening and closing.

I get that same error on NFS when I change the dpi to 133, but it works on 160.
strangely nfs hp now works fine.
nfs shift and worms however still can't download anything, with their download status displaying as NaN

Not A Number -error for me too for that pair. I got Worms working though by downloading the files with a another device. Shift files i downloaded as files from the internet and it was a graphical mess, probably wrong chipset files.
I can play fifa 12 and mass effect (downloaded from google play) on my p3100, im running cm9. Just edit your build prop to p1000 (i didnt know if this will work for tab 2 wifi version).
I use an app called device spoofer that allows you to easily edit your build.prop file. I found that changing between old galaxy tab and galaxy s2 or galaxy nexus would bring up different games in the app store. Make sure you clear google play store data in settings --> apps every time you edit your build.prop or use device spoofer.
I got worms and real racing 2 to work by using device spoofer to change to p1000 (old galaxy tab). Still got the NaN for Shift and cant get madden nfl 12 to work either
On june 14th the devs of ark publicly released ark mobile on google play and apple store. I have noticed that ark does not show up on google play with this device and when using a internet browser and logging into google it shows that my device is incompatible. It is stated in the description of the app that it needs atleast 3gb of ram but it can run lower than that and my next question is how low can it go without becoming unplayable? It also requires the latest vulkan software or whatever. If anyone finds that the app won't install it may be because it requires an arm64 processor but i need proof. i don't want to waste nearly 2gb of a download just for it to not work.

Hi there,
I would like to use this tablet for my kids (mainly to watch videos, netflix - including download - youtube and some kids games). What's in your view the most efficient, simple and stable Rom for this? (stock doesn't work with most apps and some lineages are not working well with Netflix from what I tried).
Many thanks!

It's hard to say. Let me tell you right off the bat, I don't have a Netflix subscription, so there's not much to suggest with that. But still.
I'm using LOS 16 + the new kernel 3.4. I consider it the most stable choice at the moment.
My complete device configuration:
OS: LOS16 (link);
Kernel: 3.4 (link);
Magisk: 25.2;
Google Apps: microG magisk module (link);
Netflix
The latest version of the app requires Android 7 or higher, so stock Android is unlikely to help. Another problem is that Netflix uses a thing called "App Check with Play Integrity." This means that it will be even harder to run Netflix on modified firmware. Nevertheless, I was able to run it on LOS 16, though I don't have a subscription.
Maybe this module for hiding root and re-signing the device might help with Netflix.
YouTube
There were no problems at all. 720p at x1.25 plays fine. Better - no, the device is too old.
I don't use the official client as I haven't installed GAPPS. I use YouTube ReVanced instead. It has a lot of features, but I'd rather not give a direct link to it for ethical reasons. You can always find the latest builds in the Telegram feeds if you want.
Games
All light games that support Android 9 (in my case) and above are likely to run.
Of course, it's hard to call them childish, but it will give some idea of what the device can do now. Here's what I was able to run and it's playable:
Can knockdown;
Carmageddon;
CS1.6 port;
Delta Touch (Doom ports);
Quad Touch (Quake ports);
GTA: SA;
KOTOR (50/50);
Smash Hit;
Terraria (50/50);
XCOM.
I think anything easier than that should work.
The only thing better to keep all the data on the SD card, 16Gb internal memory runs out quickly. I have Link2SD works great for that.
