GoClever r83 rooting procedure
Hi folks,
Here is rooting procedure that worked for me. (PC OS used for this instruction is Windows 7 x64, Tablet GoClever R83).
A word of disclaim. I will not be held responsive for any bricked tablets, sad faces, or elephant tears...
You're doing this at your own risk. Because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for you. But on the other hand, i'm pretty sure it will :victory:
Let begin,
PC:
1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947147 and search for GoClever 7500 Root.zip. Download it.
Let me explain a bit why GoClever 7500... archive, to avoid possible confusion and raising questions. Before rooting you should install Google USB driver from Android SDK (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html) which can be downloaded from the net for free. Unfortunately our device doesn't get recognized with latest driver from latest ASDK, and that's the reason we're downloading drivers for another GoClever tablet which we'll use for our rooting.
2. Unpack the archive, and remember the location where you extracted. (e.g. c:\temp)
3. Install UnlockRoot Pro - http://www.unlockroot.com/download.html (free download)
Tablet:
4. Go to Settings->Developer options->Turn on Usb debugging
5. Go to Settings->Security->Turn on Unknown sources
6. Connect PC and Tablet via USB cable.
PC:
7. Go to Device Manager, and update device driver from: c:\temp\GoClever 7500 Root\Drivers
8. Start Unlockroot Pro. Click on large Root button, it will say that device is already rooted, but you confirm anyways. After a shortwhile it will ask if you want to reboot. Do reboot.
9. Please be patient, and wait for tablet to load up... and... congratulations! You're rooted!
You can check if you rooted successfully with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck&hl=en
Živeli! :highfive:

No need to use modified adb.exe from unknown sources. Regular adb from Android SDK can recognize your ADB driver if you append line with text
0x2270
to %USERPROFILE%/.android/adb_usb.ini file
0x2270 is vendor id of ‘Android ADB Interface’ USB Device.

Successfully rooted Beetel Magiq II!

Hi friends just rooted the Beetel Magiq II. Had asked beetel customer care for usb drivers they said they don't have drivers. I took it as challenge but with risk to root my device.at the outset let me say that do whatever with your own risk I am not responsible if your device bricks (hard or soft).
Steps for rooting
1) first you would require drivers for the tablet as beetel has not provided with any CD for drives. So you have to download the drivers for the same. Since you all know that it is Huawei Ideos s7 tablet,we will download the drivers from huawei website. it is ~13 mb file. download and extract the file at location. attach the ideos tablet to pc or laptop. it would ask for driver location so access the folder that you created and depending on your system XP, W7 or vista. Alternatively go to device manager and it would show drivers not installed for ideos tablet just right click and select update drivers it would ask for location and according update drivers. It is important to update drivers before rooting.
.
2)Then download Super One Click Root Appv.1.9.1 and save it on your desktop.)
3)Now go to phone settings and enable USB Debugging.
4) Once this is done, launch SuperOneClick.exe by double clicking. Now click on Universal tab on screen
5) Now simply click on Root tab and wait for the process to finish. It will take some time so hang in there. In between it would ask some options click on right options, which would be easy.
6)After the rooting is complete, click Allow Non Market Apps if you need to.
There you go! you now have a rooted handset ready to accept any custom ROM.
7) download root checker basic and check to confirm that your device is rooted on not.
Hope this would help you
regards

Hmm, tried updating/reinstalling drivers on win7 but didn't work. Mine XP PC is down at the moment. So couldn't try on it.
I requested a support ticket on iberry site for the adb drivers. May be if few more requests came they will provide the drivers.

Android Maxell Maxtab C8 MID Tablet Google Play Fix

So here's how I did it:
Basically, with an Cortex A8 processor, the Maxell C8 tablet seems to be a slightly upgraded Allwinner A10, which is a bit cheaper than the Maxell tablet but then again Maxell really did package theirs nicely in terms of casing. But it's no secret - when you plug in the Maxell C8 with Windows 7 it shows clearly that it's a MID tablet. So essentially, my theory is that this method should work on all similar tablets such as Allwinner A13,A10 etc (although many of those come with preinstalled google play, as China, like me, doesn't give a **** about copyright). For reference, my tablet is running Android 4.0.4
Step 1. Root your tablet.
This took me a few times to figure out but this program called "Android Root Unlock" finally did it for me. You can get it from Source Forge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidroot/
Enable USB debugging (settings > developer options > Usb debugging). Then just connect your tablet to your PC via USB, wait until Windows recognizes the device. It should read "MID" in the device manager screen. The unpack the zip file you downloaded above on your Windows machine and run "ICS_Root_Unlocker.bat" it while the tablet is still plugged into USB. A black terminal window will open, just follow the instructions from there. Your tablet will restart - that means it probably worked, don't close the program yet but follow what it says to the end until the terminal window closes. Now you can unplug your device.
Step 2. Install modded Google Play
Now you can go ahead and follow the instructions on xda-developers.com:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650116
That's it! Google play now works like a charm and I can download stuff directly from Google Play without problems
Here's my full blog post: http://truthtech0.blogspot.com/2013/03/android-maxell-maxtab-c8-tablet-market.html
Thanks for your efforts, I'll give it a try. I was going to try Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry, but as you've confirmed it works, I'll use Android Root Unlock.
I think it's running Jelly Bean, it's my dads tablet. I'll see him tomorrow.

Anyone managed to install either a recovery image or a custom rom on the maxtab?
I've rooted mine but cannot get fastboot to work and unable to load a recovery image. Adb is working OK. Tried clockworkmod but device is unsupported.
gadget19, what happened to yours, why do you need to recover or use custom rom?

I tried the google play fix but its not working for me. I wanted to use a custom rom so that I get google play to work correctly and also to try out 4,2 features.
Hi, thank you for your guide.
Unfortunately i'm unable to complete it because when i connect the maxtab c8 to a windows 7 system it doesn't find the MID driver so the root bat doesn't find the device.
Do you have any hint in how to complete the procedure?
Thank you.

Thanks for the hint; I was able to execute the bat file but i still have some problems.
The procedure looks like complete but if I open Root Explorer and try to do some changes in \system\app it just tell me that it's in read only mode.
Tried root check pro and it's all red...
superuser installed
sbin/su: permission denied
system/bin/su: no file
system/xbin/su: Setuid attribute present and root user ownership present. Root access is correctly configured for this file! Executing this file can grant root access!
system/xbin/sudo : no exsist
su binary not found or not operating correctly
Tried to run the su file in system/xbin/su as a script on the tablet and via adb without any changes. Checked a bit online but i'm a bit stucked since my other android device (lg p500) was much easier to root.
If you have any idea i't will be very helpful. Thank you.
Ok solved.
To easy root the maxtab c8 (android 4.1) i used the RK29 tab tolkit v1.3: easy and fast.
Now i have problem installing the play store...
I followed the guide but since i don't have any Vending.apk or phonesky.apk in system/app i just copied it without a backup, rebooted but nothing happened.
Need more testing.
Ok play store installed and working.
I didn't use the apk linked in the first post, i had to use this one instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934441
The method is the same (copy in system/app, set the permission as rw-r--r-- and then reboot) just use the apk i linked.
Hope this help someone.:victory:

[Q] Root for Asus Fonepad Note 6 FHD???

Asus Fonepad Note 6 is out there. I just got one and really happy with it. The only problem is ,because it is so new, that there is no root resource on line.
Can some almighty capable ones help us out? Thanks.
Here's Fonepad Note 6's official page:

I would also be very thankful if someone could help us root the Fonepad Note 6 since I guess that it would be the only possibility to run certain Apps in tablet mode.
Don't understand why the Fonepad 7 was in tablet mode and now the Fonepad 6 isn't :crying:
Thanks in advance!!!

Asus fonepad note 6 uses intel Z2580 CPU. There are a few devices which use the same CPU, have already had root access, such as Lenovo K900. I truely hope the all mighty developers in XDA can help us out. T_T

Thanks for replying. But I can't find USB drivers for fonepad note 6 in Asus website. I am not sure whether or not I can use the k900 drivers instead.
If the driver is wrong, there will be no consequences right? Like I won't brick my fonepad note 6, right? thanks.
Thanks for the advice but it doesn't work.
I just tried Kingo Root v1.1.4 but root fails.
Any other idea?
I think I kinda figure out the process. It's basically same as rooting Lenovo K900 or memopad fhd10.
First install the intel android device usb drivers.
Then flash a pre-rooted factory image with fastbood command or flashing tools.
Now all we need is a pre-rooted factory image.
Finally Root

Thanks so much for sharing. But I can't read Italian at all.
I tried google translation but still very confusing. Is the rooting process only achievable on Linux system?
I am sorry to ask so much. But, if it's possible to have an English version of step by step and in windows environment, It'll be helping so much.

I think the root process is also available for Windows but in that case you need the official drivers from Asus that I do not know where to download.
If your Windows PC is able to communicate with the Fonepad I think that it is enough to run Cydia Impactor (also available for Windows) but I'can't try because i haven't Windows on my PC

What program did you try to root the Note 6 with?
I am asking because I trieg with Kingo root and my windows PC recognized the note 6.
Just the root failed because of Kingo root.
Thank you very much alessiof89 . I can confirm that this method works !!!! I am running Windows 7 64 bit machine and it's pretty easy just with a simple few clicks.
First of all i haven't downloaded any special driver for the Fonepad Note 6 on windows. I just connected the device for the first time to the computer and windows does the rest by installing some drivers from its archives. Then I turned on "USB debugging" in developers section on the phone and windows again starts downloading and installing some drivers for the device. On windows' device manager now you should see"SAMSUNG Android Phone" open that and it shows "ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface" (weird). I don't now why the first entry called "Samsung.." and the opened one called "ASUS.." but --anyway--- the "ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface" is the important driver without this ADB won't work and the device will not be recognized on ADB and rooting procedure will not happen.
After that go to Settings>Security and tick the box "Unknown Sources". As of security reasons after the rooting process untick this box and leave it as before.
Download the programm Cydia Impactor for windows (only one version to download for) alessiof89 posted in his link. It's a zip file. unzip it anywhere on your PC and open the unzipped folder. Run the file "Impactor.exe" by rightclicking it and choose "Run as administrator". There is no installation . A small window appears within a dropdown menu. Choose the first entry called "# drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su" and hit the "start" button. After a very short time (It feels less then a second) the rooting process is done.
On the phone there is no change in visuals there is no special app like "SuperSU" in the app drawer. It looks like before without root !
Now dowload the app "root checker" an play store to verify your root status. If the thing is round you should see a congrats message like on the screenshot alessiof89 postet in his link.
That's all.
Now i will check my normally installed apps wich needs root acces like on my other devices. But the first thing i want to do is to install the app "SuperSu" from play store and let's see if it can take control over the rooting admins.
and again many thanks to alessiof89 for this next step to our device.
Edit: I can confirm SuperSU from Chainfire works !! Now asking to grant su per app it needs.
Edit 2: After moments of thinking about the weird Samsung device thing i remember of the Asus Transformer TF300T i got at the beginning of the year and installed ADB driver for it from the official homepage of Asus also for my Samsung Galaxy Fit device. The idea is to install usb driver from another Asus product even if you don't have one ?
G mac_o
THANK YOU, alessiof89!!!
I've got it done, too. I simply install Ubuntu in my computer and have it rooted. It was quite easy after having had the Android SDK environment setup.
My computer instantly recognized the device, and Cydia impactor worked like a charm.
Now I have a rooted Fonepad note 6 as well. ^^
Still, it is quite a lot of work for ubuntu newbies like me. It'll be really great if someone can make a windows version of rooting process to help others to come.
Anyway, I got it done. Thanks! ^^

Hi, I don't know. I seriously don't know. The Device Manager only read my fonepad note as a "android device" with a yellow sign .
It refused to update to any drivers I installed. Quite depressing.
Eventually, I got it done in an UBUNTU OS.

Gosh! You make it sound so easy. My windows 7 just simply refused to cooperate, and I have no idea why. Sigh.
Anyway, we all get it done one way or the other. It's a good thing.
It works out just fine (I am using Windows 7 64bit).
I didn't install any special USB driver.
I just connected the Note 6 and let windows do the rest or maybe it was because I had an older ASUS USB driver installed? (I had a Padfone 2 and a Fonepad 7 before - so if you have trouble with the USB driver you might wanna try the Padfone usb driver?!)
After that I just downloaded CydiaImpactor and started it (enabling USB Debugging on the Note 6 first of course).
Device is rotted and everythings works out!
Thanks for the tip/hint with CydiaImpactor!!!

OK, this is so weird. But after I ghosted back my windows system. I decided to give it try again (Although I've had root).
Anyway, once I plugged in, my windows recognized my Fonepad note 6. I have "ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface" in my device manager.
So this is another confirmation. Simply plug it in. I don't know why I went all the trouble for Ubuntu. :~~
Will alessio method work on asus fonepad 7 ? I want to try but i am afraid i could break the device.
tried alessio metod on fonepad 7, NOT WORKING:crying:

[Guide] HKC P771A-P776A Root!

(WORKING ON WINDOWS XP 100% WINDOWS 7 DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK, IF NEED USE A VIRTUAL MACHINE)
Seeing as it was REALLY hard to find out how to root a HKC Tablet, I'll make a simple yet clear guide for all P77 models ranging from P771A through P776A.
First you will need the rockchip drivers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1468367&d=1352441606) After you download them extract the folder, inside right click the files for your OS and click install.
After you install the correct one for your OS reboot your computer.
Once it has restarted on your tablet go to settings and on the left bar at the bottom click Developer options > on the top now click the sliding bar that says off until it says on and click the little check box next to usb debugging, now plug your device into your computer via the usb wire and set your tablet down.
Now install kingo root (http://download.cnet.com/Kingo-Android-Root/3000-2094_4-75996768.html) After it is installed open the program and follow the on screen directions, if all goes well your device will reboot and kingo will say it was rooted successfully, do NOT unplug your device during this phase.
Once it has rebooted and kingo says that it was rooted you may remove the device and now you have a fully rooted HKC tablet
didn't work

Once it has rebooted and kingo says that it was rooted you may remove the device and now you have a fully rooted HKC tablet

couldn't get driver to install. But first, what is the point of the Elijah drivers if my windows 7 of akready reccognizes the give as the p771a mobile device?
Can't install USB drivers with right click or with win7 device manager?

Then king application doesn't connect
I'm guessing that the driver is for the USB debug mode but I sure can't install it
The drivers were hard to install on windows 7 I've been hearing, you can try to install them via device manager and then click search online then have cd and navigate to the folder and choose the right driver.
This is how you do it

I appreciate your effort in providing this answer. Unfortunately, after
some web research, it's exactly what I tried to no avail. The
driver would just not load and I couldn't even remove whatever
driver it thought was there in usb debug mode. I tried vista also.
same no result. I bought this cheap tablet just to play around
with rooting. I'll just chalk it up ti a failed experiment. The tablet
isn't bad as is considering its cheap price. I have other better ones.
Agaun, thank you for The answer.

a final word. looking at the reply i didn''t do exactly what the responder recommended. I actually did a shorter version where i browsed the computer for drivers in just 4 steps. when i did exactly what the response recommended and arrived at step 6, hit next, i got a new screen listing rockchip device types, rk27, rk28, rk29, etc.. all double listed for some reason. I think the hkc p771a is a rockchip 29xx single core device so I tried the two rk29 listings. when those didn't work i tried all the others. none worked. always said driver was not for this device. Thank you bill gates for your incomprehensible os. but, really, than you again to the responder.
New RockUsb 3.7 Drivers Working
I too had no luck with the drivers offered with the guide short install or long i got no where so i went on a search and found these drivers do work just install with have disk,
now if i only can get kingo to connect any help would be great thx
nice try
Sounds like terrenInc is saying this driver will install but kingo still won't connect. Probably not the right driver for this function. Nice try though.
about this new driver

If that iis a correct adb driver (I couldn't get it to install), responder might try one of the other 1 click root apps out there like srss ti see if it will connect/work.
correct driver

I tried the default google driver that adb uses and I could install it but no luck with kingo attaching.
There are several sites where people discuss rooting from the pt of view of the chip set
rk29xx (rk2918 to be exact) and they had success with a few other tablets with same chip
Set. To be frank it was over my head.
I've been having personal issues, sorry for the late reply, drivers I provided have only been tested on windows xp and windows 8 using them along with kingo root was a simple process, I have not been able to get the drivers working on windows 7 after a fresh install, I'm not entirely sure why but the rockchip drivers don't allow the connection via debug on windows 7, I've tested this method 3 times and its worked 2 out of 3 windows 7 being the failure. installing the drivers on windows 8 was as simple as right click install reboot, windows xp were the same way, using the windows 7 method on fresh install however proved to be more complex, I've had it working on the old install of win7 but haven't been able to on my fresh install.
To make this simpler, I'll edit into the main post (KNOWN WORKING ON WINDOWS XP) if you can try windows xp it is a sure proof method I just tested on a new tablet since my last post using my guide, working 100% with the drivers I linked, on a side note if you can't get ahold on a windows xp computer use a virtual machine to install windows xp then just remove it once you're rooted
Cydia Impactor will root this device. Trying to install a custom recovery (CWM) right now. The tablet is not playing fair.
And I used Windows 7.

Won't install usb drivers
I have the hkc p776a tablet and I have done every thing this guide says and it won't work I have tried it on a Xp PC and a vista pc also and neither one works when I tried to install it on vista it says "this .inf file is not meant to be installed this way" and on Xp it does nothing. Could you do pics on how you went though the process of doing it. I know it is a lot to ask but if you did it would help me a lot. Thx and is there any other way of getting the usb drivers.
Finally! I got root! I realized my problem on XP. I need USB debugguing off to install tablet correctly, then turned on for rooting program to connect. Now kingo didn't work for me. It made screen go crazy until all I could do is reboot. But cydia impactor did it! Happy days. Good-bye Korean keyboard!
Sent from my cheapo Rooted P771A (Finally!)
Installing the drivers worked for me on the first try (with no problems) on Vista with the usb debugging turned off.
Now How do I go about installing cwm recovery ? I am kinda stuck at that point now ;(
