Hello,
Is there any 2500 or 3000 mAh battery available for nexus 4? Or A power case?
Also, what does a power case do? Does it charge phone's battery or phone just uses power case's battery after its own battery charge diminishes? Simply, how does a power case work?
Thanx..
To answer your questions in order: just the external battery packs you can get generically, no, it wraps the phone in a protective skin with a battery in the plastic, it charges the phone battery until the power skin battery is dead then the internal battery takes over, see previous line.

I got this Galili 1570mAh battery for my Nexus One and I have run several tests to see how it compares to my stock battery. I could not find any reviews on this battery so I figured $15 is cheap enough to give it a shot and see.
Test setup:
N1 OEM battery used for 5 months or so.
Galili 1570mAh battery used for 2 full charge and discharge cycles (according to my research it is a myth that you have to do discharge/recharge cycle few times to get full capacity in lithium ion batteries)
I tested using following steps:
1. Fully charge the battery, give it an extra 30 minutes or so at 100% charged.
2. Hold the power and trackball button to go into Bootloader mode. This is great for battery testing as the power drain over time is identical each time, as only screen is using power and there are no power saving feature kicking in like screen timeout etc.
3. Unplug the power supply and start timer.
I used video camera to keep track of time as I didn’t feel like staring at my phone for over 3 HR’s.
The original battery tested out to around 3 Hrs 15 minutes before the screen went dark. The Galili time fluctuated around 2 Hrs 52 to 2 Hrs 54 minutes. I run the tests 3 times or so over span of 2 weeks with almost identical results.
Conclusion: Yet another battery that lies about its capacity. It seems to be the norm that all the aftermarket battery manufacturers are inflating the capacity information. I found this cool web site where there are bunch of them tested.

This is OK battery for a backup but I was counting on getting higher capacity in the same footprint. It looks like none of the batteries out there can beat the original N1 battery.
thanks for the review!! Shame its crap!
So the lesson here is to fork over a little more for a genuine Nexus One battery and don't go cheap with the generic batteries.
That's my recommendation after buying batteries from eBay that wouldn't power up my phones.
I have only ever bought batteries for all my phones off ebay and never had an issue with any of them. They have all performed about the same as the official OEM counterparts. Now SD cards is an story... lol
Lithium Polymer
Why aren't lithium polymer batteries used more? I remember my ooooollllddd sony ericson phone had one....I think it was model t-something...LoL! Isn't it supposed to be better than lithium ion?

I thought this might help some one awesome 5000mah battery just use some velcro and have extra power without an outlet possibly for 4 days.
Update:
a better solution might be more http://tinyurl.com/23q6k6m
Used the phone for 10 hours running GPS and taking some photos and the battery died. Not the 4 days of power that I hoped for. Unless you use it conservatively. After the battery died I still had fully charged cell battery which lasted me a little over 3 hours running gps.
damn!
nice find
I want to get an extended battery for my charge, but the 3500mah extended battery is too physically large. is there any battery that will give me a battery life boost, but not double the thickness of the phone? thanks.

I found the highest capacity without double the size - 1800mah. I purchased 2 with a wall charger. You just carry one with you and swap out when needed.
For both batteries and wall charger with USB charger build in (dual charger) only cost me 22$ on ebay. They're working fine with my charge. I suggest instead of killing yourself try to squeeze the life out of your current battery, just carry an extra one. I found the double size is too bulky to carry and noticeable heavier.
thats only 200mah more than the one that's in there already... how much more battery life will that give?
You aren't going to find anything better than that. You can only fit so many mAh in a battery package before you reach a critical/dangerous level, and after that, you have to make the size of the battery bigger. Aftermarket batteries work with two sizes, stock size, and extended battery size, as they usually don't make their own extended battery covers and just use the stock extended battery cover.

about 1hrs. See my above thread. Best bet is just carry an extra 1800mah battery. Don't buy bulky 3500mah. It's heavier and bulky. I bought them and now I'm not using them any more.
its called Anpower.. the only thing that pushes me away from the Anker 6440 MAH battery is the back cover being black (and the ZL battery is too heavy for me, i owned it for my s5 and its a brick..even though performance is amazing but it is too heavy)
, i want to have a white one on my black note 4 , here is the link

also, upon getting any extended battery , is fast charging damaging for the battery or not ?
Previously having owned the zerolemon case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 I knew what to expect from them and they didn't disappoint. The Pixel XL is a great phone but the battery life leaves something to be desired. Zerolemon to the rescue!
The case comes in the standard packaging with the bag and the box with the case inside. Installation is super simple, just slide the phone on to the USB C port on the battery/case and slide the rubber surround over it. The battery has an on off switch on the back and 4 LEDs for battery status.
I charged the battery for 12 hours as per the instructions and put the phone in. With a heavy load on the phone, lots of screen usage and the VPN running I got a little over 24 hours on the battery.
There are two ways to use the battery case you can either leave it on and trickle charge the phone constantly like I did or drain the phone down and turn it on each time to charge it.
The pixel XL has bottom firing speakers and zerolemon addressed this by diverting the sound through the front of the case. You don't lose any volume at all. The case charges via USB C and the port is linked straight through so you can charge/sync as needed.
Zerolemon is known for quality products and great value and this is no exception of you're looking for a way to extend your phones life when you're away from a charger this is it.
Case will not turn off until battery drains.
Any ideas on why this is happening or how to shut the case off? Even when I pull the phone out of the battery case it is still charging.

I have not had that issue. the phone doesn't sleep while in the case, even though it's off, but as soon as I take it out things return to normal
