Because that recovery is not for you. Presto is not HTC HD nor Inspire 4G. Your CWM file should read cwm-5.0.2.0-ace.img or use the touch version if you want to...
http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-ace.img
You canĀ“t fastboot flash from your sdcard. The file has to be in the PC. Put it in your desktop, boot the phone in fastboot usb and open a cmd as admin in the pc, navigate to your desktop folder and then type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-ace.img (when you get the OKAY in the session it is done)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then try recovery.

Flash the rom you want via clockwork, then when it's finished go to fastboot, connect the phone with usb to the computer and use ADB to flash the boot.img of the rom you just flashed

Flash boot.img from the ROM manually from fastboot.
Put the boot.img from the zip file to your adb folder.
Connect your phone in fastboot USB
Open a command window
cd to the adb folder
for example:
Code:
cd c:\android
Then type:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then type:
Code:
fastboot reboot

let me get this straight ..
when you connect the phone from bootloader to PC ..whats the phone is saying ?
HBOOT or FASTBOOT USB ?
if its saying HBOOT ..press power button once ..that will take you to FASTBOOT USB
if its FASTBOOT USB then you are onnected properly
now to test the connection
open command window from the adb/fastboot folder of your PC (if windows hold shift + right click -> open command window here)
and type this
fastboot devices
it should show your device ..and the rest you follow from the guide

[Q] stuck on juopunutbear screen

i have searched and have found many people with similar problems but none of the solutions have helped me, that said i apologise if ive missed the answer.
so ive used htcdev to unlock my bootloader which went fine then ive decided to "s-off" my phone which has gone fine, well im "s-off"ed however im stuck on the juopunutbear screen everytime i turn the phone on.
ive tried guide on the unlimited.io website - controlbear.exe -r, controlbear.exe -f. when i carry out the next point when i get to "fastboot flash recovery recovery_backup.img" i get a failed.
this i believe has happened because i started the process in kgs1992's aio app which crashed so i shut it and completed in controlbear, i cant think where else i went wrong, ive read loads of guides.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLPP........gotta ring my dad tomorrow which atm isnt gonna happen!

And are you still struck at the juopunutbear screen?
Then what error you got when you used fastboot command?
... wait why did you do juopunutbear when you are already soff?
Edit:
Got the point..
Try those fastboot commands again
Connect the phone properly .. you should connect the phone properly.. If connected properly the phone says FASTBOOT USB .. if it's just saying FASTBOOT then you didn't have drivers installed or the connection is not proper.
If it's saying HBOOT press power button once.. That should take you to required screen

If Struck on juopunutbear screen:
Well, there's an easy solution if you're struck on the juopunutbear boot screen on your phone. Follow the steps in order:
1.Open the folder where you've extracted the juopunutbear setup files.
2.There'll be a image file in the folder called "boot_backup".
3.Copy that file to the folder you've created during the bootloader unlocking process from HTCDev. The folder contains the fastboot.exe, AdbWinApi.dll etc files, and probably it is in your c:\Android.
4.Rename the copied boot_backup image file to "boot" only.
5.Take out your battery out, reinsert it and boot into the bootloader mode using volume down + power button.
6.You'll see a red writing " fastboot usb"
7.See your computer screen now, the current folder where you copied and renamed.
8.Holding "shift" button on your keyboard, right click inside the folder and select "open command promp window here".
9.Type the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and press enter.
10.Then type" fastboot reboot" and press enter.
11.Your phone should reboot normally now.
[****The above method is based on stock sensation rom. If you're struck in a custom rom, then in step 3, copy the boot.img file of the custom rom from where you've downloaded your rom and continue the steps******]
Make sure you unplug all usb devices when doing juopunutbear method, I couldn't do it for hours then I unplugged all devices and restarted PC. It worked on 1st try.

[Q] Stuck after installing ROMs while booting

Dear Friends,
I have HTC Sensation, I have just rooted my phone and whiped everything in ClockWorkMod then installed a custom ROM, then i rebooted the phone and it stucked at booting.
My HBOOT version is 1.27.0000
My S-ON
Then I again downloaded another ROM and installed it after whiping everything, again the phone stucked at booting.
I have tried 5 times with different ROMs but my phone stucked at booting.
Can anyone help me please.
Best Regards.
You have to install the 4ext recovery. And enable smartflash in it. So you can flash roms on s-on

Hi, do you have the Sensation bootloader drivers installed?
If you haven't, boot into the bootloader and turn your network connection off. Then open Device Manager, right click on "Android 1.0" and update the device drivers manually to the location of the Android SDK > Extras > Google > USB_Driver. (Making sure the SDK is installed already and the USB drivers downloaded from the menu)
Then connect your phone to the computer when the phone is in FASTBOOT USB mode. Open a terminal/cmd window in your working folder (if you don't have one you can download and extract one from here
Then extract your boot.img file from inside the ROM (don't extract the ROM or delete the file though) and place it inside the adb folder you just downloaded.
In the cmd/terminal window, type
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then the ROM should boot properly when you reboot back into the system.
You can then install 4EXT recovery from Google Play.
or use step 2 from here to flash 4ext

What about those of us that have no USB connectivity, meaning when USB cable is connected, you get no "Fastboot USB" on the bootloader screen?
I'm S-on, so flashing recoveries from the SD card isn't possible.
Try this...

Try following method 2 in this guide( through updating via PG58IMG.zip file) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599816. Be carefule about the md5 checksum of the recovery image. Double check before flashing!!
After this, boot into recovery(from the bootloader menu, select appropriate superuser.zip file(for rooting, search xda ...there are many options) and flash root. You now have a custom recovery and are rooted. Now you can flash any custom rom.
All the above assuming you can somehow transfer files to your SD card through a card reader or any other means...
NOTE: Delete the PG58IMG.zip after flashing recovery.

Still won't work. I have tried flashing stock firmwares, stock and non-stock recoveries, reflashing root.zip, restore from known good backups, nothing has worked. Phone is stuck at first HTC logo screen and will go no further, and with no USB connectivity, it's impossible for me to flash even PG58IMGs' because the phone is S-on.
Maybe this could work for you...just a suggestion

Ok, from your reply i gather that even though you transferred the PG581MG to your SD card, the phone did not update when your got to the bootloader menu. I do not think being S-ON will prevent you from installing from the zip file...but maybe i am wrong. Hey now all i can think is this:
Turn off your phone, remove the battery, wait for some time(~10seconds), then put the battery back in. Now press Power +Vol down switch together. Now at the boot loader menu select Fastboot and press Power button. Connect your phone to your PC now and wait. The check if the next screen shows 'FASTBOOT USB'.
If you get 'FASTBOOT USB' in the next screen, then you have multiple options, but for you i would suggest that you download the latest RUU for the phone depending on your region and cid. Then run the ruu while the device is still in FASTBOOT USB mode. This will restore your phone's firmware recovery and rom back to stock.
But if your phone does not show fastboot usb then i'm stumped dude...maybe the experts here in our sensation community will be able to help out....
All the best ...and report if anything improves...
