So i see that a lot of devices already have all-in-one toolkits. Even the new nexus 10 got it.
I just wanted to know if anyone is working on it for our device.
I kinda made one but size came up to 3gb and uploading on a 256kbps connection is out of the question...if I manage to make it small enough I will share it

Are there any good complete tutorials on this forum for rooting, unlocking, installing cleanrom? I find the all in one tutorial page stickeyed on the top of this forum is a bit of a mess.

Okay, I've done a lot of searching on creating a gold card to begin the root of my Inspire. I flashed my Tilt2 more times than I can remember but the process for the Inspire is a little confusing for me. So far I've been unable to find any type of guide or steps to create the gold card. All of the posts I've found hit all around the subject but none say how to do it, start to finish. Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Check the sticky in the general section. It should help

I haven't rooted yet, but have been doing some more intense research lately and felt the same way. I can tell you, you need to watch the video. It gives you everything you need and shows that it is easier than it sounds.

Go to page 124 of the hack kit thread and read my post....hopefully that helps! Its really easy once you get started.
The instructions and videos say they are outdated. Is that something to worry about?

Not it all...just read the begining steps in the effen manual...which is in the zip...and once you start its as easy as.....type the number 1, hit enter....do a little copy and paste and send an email, and a one more copy and paste...then type number 2, hit enter....after awhile...and maybe a reboot or two, type number 3 hit enter.....its that simple
EDIT: Those aren't the exact steps...I might have missed one more number 1, and enter....but its close..haha
Look. Its simple as downloading the hack kit. Open up the read me and reading it.

thnx for the great stuff i can do with the phone now.
Great. Another thank you thread. Jk. Lol. I waited a lot longer to root because I was somewhat paranoid to ask a question around here because I might get my ass flamed. I don't use the PC for this site because all the crappy ads make it crawl and searching this site on mobile is horrid. I finally got it sorted and rooted without even a minor blip. Which method did you use and what rom are you running?

Ad Block Plus for FF/Chrome is your best friend. I have never seen a single ad on this site nor any other I frequent.
Agree with the thank you to xda. One of big reasons I went inspire over atrix was the amount of support and development here. It's great messing around with your phone and making it just the way you want it. Having a resource like xda is priceless.

Hey guys / girls. I've been making toolkits for phones for a month now and they gained pretty good recognition. Would you guys be interested if I made one? I know it is early to ask, but the more input the better!

Look in my sig. I have the One X toolkit uploaded. One S shouldn't be that hard. I just have to switch the files, the wording in the script and the bat script commands. Will take about 20 mins or so.
How are you getting tons of rep by just making tool kits that uses a few lines for code.
Great work btw.

More like 200+ lines... lol (that's just for the GUI and commands).
The .bat scripts also take time to make. Finding the .img and all that stuff as well. It's not simple. I have to test it all and make sure they work with the commands that I set with the GUI.
Think about it. You click a button and it does the job for you. Less haggle and stress with it. People don't have to search around on how to do a million things. It's all in one tool.
Would a local repair pc shop root my 300
I want to do that tweak thats for the 300 make it faster and have better battery. Life
It's possible. I doubt it though. Call around and ask.
I'm confused.
Why not do it yourself?
All you need to do is read and follow the instructions carefully.

I know that it seems scary at first, but it really is a pretty easy process. Just make sure that you read and follow all instructions exactly and you will be fine.
if anything, the guys at your local pc shop will have a higher chance at bricking your tf300t than you will. i recommend reading through the topics from the tweak thread carefully then doibg it yourself. or you can ask someone here to do a videoguide or something.

not ALL of us local guys are incompetent....
I have considered rooting phones / tablets in my shop but i don't think the benefits outweigh the risk.
I can see it now, i root a device and a month later something goes wrong, the customer tries to send it back for repairs and it's rejected because it's rooted / unlocked / whatever, and they come back screaming at me.
Meanwhile, i had them sign a waiver stating that they're voiding their warranty by rooting / unlocking / etc.
My experience has been that people only hear / read what they want and nothing else.
My viewpoint is you should never root someone else's device...the minute something goes wrong they'll come back to you asking you to fix it...even if it was their fault.

+1. I have 2 friends who wanted me to root and do other mods on their phones after they saw me do it with my LG Revo. While I will read and read and read to make sure I minimize my chances of effing up my stuff and feel pretty confident when I make any changes, I have no desire to do it with their stuff. Simply for the fact that both used their phones daily and wouldn't be too happy with a paperweight.
Rooting some tablets are a lot easier than rooting certain phones, I rooted both mine. You can do it! It's scary at first I know but later you will be happy! I wish you the best !

As we all know, development & Support for our One XL is very poor compared to other phones like the One X Tegra, One S, EVO LTE and GS3.
What i have been doing in the past were how to videos and "Balanced" rom review videos for other devices and PC's as well. I would like to do more One XL videos and try to get it a little more popular and see what happens. Would you guys be interested in this? If so, let me know what kind of videos i could do for us, I'm open to Rom reviews, how to videos, and accessories videos.
I know I'm a developer but I also do enjoy using this phone and would love to see more attention brought to it before the One X+ kills it off for good.
I will be posting videos on the team nocturnal channel. http://YouTube.com/TeamNocturnalTV
Post the topics for the videos you would like to see me do

Start with rom reviews. You got half a dozen roms to keep you busy.
Accessories thread is by far the slowest part of our forums so maybe continue there with some more reviews.
(although noobs don't bother with stickies, especially on the mobile app) create a sticky thread reviewing roms, tweaks, homescreens, and hell, fookin quadrant scores with certain roms. The few devs here create awesome roms.
I've rooted my buddies gs3, and he can't find a stable/feature rich Rom to save his life

You really think the x+ will kill the one x? Not everyone is going to go strait to the x+ if at&t locks it down. Most of us here have an unlocked one x, so hopefully that will keep devs here for a little while longer.

Exactly how many more ROMs do you need?

I think reviewing roms would be great and videos of the ones you think are worth it. I've recently started testing some roms out. I tried KingCobra and am now using Viper plan on testing some more. I may could help on some input.
But someone to do up to date rom reviews would be awesome

Wow man that's really awesome of you! Do some reviews of ROM's like Dev1's ICS vs Dev2's ICS. Comparisons, some cool themes you find, tutorials on how to edit the clock, lockscreen, etc. on different roms, stuff like that.
Once again the community appreciates your help!
keep the ideas coming and ill do the videos. Its much more relaxing then developing lol. I did a Miui install video last night and will do a full review tomorrow since ive had 2 days to test it by then.
Here is the Miui Video, I'm still new to this so dont be to harsh lol

I think it's great of you spending your time on it. Thank you!
The one thing I would stay away from that was mentioned was side by side, who's is better reviews. They are all hard work and it then becomes overly opinionated and can actually decrease the motivation of the "losing" devs. Your reviews will be great, and thanks for offering your time:beer:

I would never bash anyone in any reviews, I don't want any negative attention lol. I just hope people wont think im taking sides since i have roms of my own and i have only showed one on YouTube and that was back in may. With that being said, i want to do more how to videos because i don't enough of those here.
As far as creating a rom of your own, read read read is all i can say, that is how i started and ask questions and use Google. But never ever use anyone's work no matter how small you think the file may be. Ive seen a few people here and there doing that and its not cool at all. that's a good way to get a bad rep off the bat.
