Hello.
Lately the lack of internal storage space was bugging me. So I started looking at app2sd apps/scripts and alike.
I read in a few posts that Oxygen ROM has a built in app2sd script and only requires an ext partition in order for it to work. So i mounted the sd card on my computer and formatted it like this (Disk 2 is the sd card):

}
The Fat32 partition works fine but the ext3 partition doesn't seem to affect the os in any way. I still have 188mb internal memory. I thought it would show something close to 1gb.
Have I misunderstood how this app2sd and ext formatting is supposed to work? What's there to do if I want to move launchers/widgets/keyboard apps on the sd card?

Hello!! :laugh:
Im kinda new at this android thing although I managed to do some tweaking with my device lately.. eg. Rooting and deleting some bloatwares and stuff
I just want to know if there is any possibility of increasing my INTERNAL storage.
As you can see from the attached screenshot of my device's memory status (via Clean Master) I have 1008.3MB capacity for my internal storage and 5.4GB from my DEVICE storage. What I want is to maybe take 1GB or 2GB from my DEVICE STORAGE and utilize it for my INTERNAL one. I have moved all movable applications I have to my SDcard and still my Internal Memory is low...
Please help..

Hi there, i have a question to ask , i running android 4.4.2 on my dell venue 7 , the device is rooted and i search for a solution for moving the apps from internal storage which is emulated to my external sd card .. i tried Gl to SD but if i move a game i`m not allowed to play it , the data needs to be redownloaded -_-/ . I also tried link2sd but doesn`t freed up my internal storage. I seen some threads about changing the storage from internal to external editing the vold.fstab file :\ this is how my file looks like

I have a 8GB Moto G with CyanogenMod 13 installed. I only have around 4,5Gb of free data space in the internal storage. I thought "how much space does Android really need?" so I found this app that showed the internal partitions. I found my /system partition is like 2.3Gb, and it's only using 717Mb, so I'm potentially losing about 1,4~1,5Gb of data space.

So I have 2 questions: Is it really necessary to have a /system partition this big (I don't know if it will ever be eventually filled with CM updates or whatever)? And is there an easy way to resize these partitions, something like GParted?
Thanks
EDIT: Alternatively, I'm trying to move some apps to /system/app folder and some more random stuff
I can't normally download apps from the app store because i only have 4gb of internal storage and most if not all is used by the os. I have Link2SD already installed as well as XInternalSD on Xposed installed, but i'm still running out of space because Link2SD doesn't fully copy everything to the sd card (Should it?). Is it because i only have 1 partition ? Everything on Link2SD seems to be working fine without a second partition. If there isn't a way to fix this is there a way to fully copy all the data to the sd card like just download the apk from my pc and the transfer it ?

I'm having trouble getting my Idol 3 5.5 inch to adopt my microSD card as internal storage. It's a Samsung Evo 64 GB card, purchased from Microcenter I think. It has worked fine for the past 6 months or so as portable storage, but my phone will not format it to function as internal storage. I've tried forcing it to format using Windows Diskpart, because most of the usual tools were only seeing it as 16MB. With Diskpart I could wipe it and create a new partition, and then format it at the full 64GB using FAT32 Format. However, that did not help. Please help!
Here is a screenshot of the error message I get:
