[QUOTE="Dc_007, post: 34913024, member: 4799155"]can anyone help on battery drain for cm10 roms,i m getting ver
number of factors leads to low battery............
you must properly charge your battery ( takes max 4 hrs.) ideal way of charging is to charge while keeping your device switched off....
even if u dont wanna to switch of dont run any apps while charging....:good:
dont run too many widgets...
or live wallpapers(small live wallpapers donot consume much)
clear ram from time to time to end background running apps....
switch to lower screen brightness........
using internet and playing video drains battery much faster( no miracle solution to this problem yet)....
some claim that their roms saves battery but it all depends on the user.....how he takes care to save his and manage usage of apps....
in my personal experience i think stock roms are slow and laggy so they consume much power whereas customade cm based roms are much faster hence power saving with cool/ great looks wiyh exxxxtra features....
so think over it....or tryout diff roms and decide for yourself.....

Hi i'd like to know how battery compares on the DS.
I hear many ppl say that on custom ROMs the battery is better, but by what margin?
There is a person saying he had his DS approxiametly in standby for 200hrs (stock)
then with a custom ROM 400hrs...
is that an accurate prediction... do the custom ROMs increase battery by that large margin?
i would have thought that having all the newer sense 3.0 , overclocked ROMs etc, would make the phones battery life worse than stock, but it seems not so....
Anyone can share their expierences please?
i dont know about stand by but if u ask about usage stock rom battery life sux.I'm on cm7 (right now) and must say that this rom is the best one for battery life...tried miui, lbc, virtuous and now cm7 so far and in cm7 is no drain at all...7-9mA on idle ..all roms drain fast if u use wifi ..if u really use ur phone whatever u use stock or custom rom u will must charge every day thats for sure
in some lines, when screen off i get use of:
Stock: 14-15ma
Custom 6-8ma
Meaning that custom rom uses half of current... means better battery life
yeah just like that

on standby you can see a huge increase in battery life if you use a custom ROM
but when you are actually using the device the battery life isn't changed that much as the display causes most of the battery drain & so reduction in battery consumption of most other processes does not affect the battery life much, but it definitely is a lot better
& also most custom ROMs underclock the device when the device is sleeping so that also helps the battery life
AOSP roms had battery drain issues, but the devs are working on it & it should be fixed soon(im not sure if its fixed yet)
Thanks everyone for your input!
Will be considering rooting my phone and installing a custom ROM , once i'm fully settled in with it

would just agree with what @kartkk said above.
Would also say that you are correct to delay, as there are a decent number of guides and weeks worth of reading material here in the forum to keep you busy and help you along the way.plus lots of us here willing to answer any questions you may have as you should be fairly confident what you are up to before you start flashing.

with Virtuous Unity my device lasts two days instead of one day (with stock rom)
Compared with stock rom im getting around 8 hours more on the miui 1.7.29 rom by superkid. I can easily get over 2 days of moderate to heavy usage

Thanks for answers everyone! Recieved my phone yesterday.. really impressed with battery life on first charge out of box on stock! Can't imagine it could be even better on custom roms!

I haven't noticed a difference really, but then again I am over clocking now by about 400Mhz. Custom roms are just better all round.
Do custom roms without HTC sense last longer?

interesting question, since sense is quite often blamed for its exessive battery drain.
Miui rom 1.7.29 by superkid right now with the stock kerel is amazing I can easily get over 2 days of moderate to heavy usage

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone else has had horrendous battery life since switching to an ICS based rom. I dont mind the speed on the roms overall I have been pleased with ICS, Has anyone found a rom where you can leave your phone unplugged for an hour and not lose 20-30% battery?
Yes, I agree with you.... Battery drains too quickly... I had to start using JD
Mostly, in ICS that happens because there're a lot of apps running on background that drains the battery. If u use any kind of task killer u can open it and see how many are running (like advanced task killer- free on market). If u kill this apps from time to time u'll get more battery time (other method is to go to settings - apps- get into every app and tap force stop - this will stop the apps that u dont need = more battery life. )
If u don't need to be always sync with google account, just turn off auto-sync on the options, that too will give u more time.
Cheers
p.s: even with a normal usage, most of time sync and just sometimes killing apps i get a day and a half with ICS 4.0.3
If i helped u somehow, hit thanks button please
yup... in ics its a huge problem for drainage of battery...
bt if u try rooting and flashing custom roms like cm9 it vl change.
the battery life vl increase....
I'm rooted and running cybrgrV7 as my rom of choice, and with all the kernel updates, I can get quite good battery life out of my phone on regular use.
I feel very much the same as I use GB ROM
It's depending on your usage, kernel, ROM and something

No discussion of battery life is complete without a quick look to my battery thread...
kernels ; battery ; ROM ; gov/sched
Stock ROM. I lose under 1%/hour. Make sure you don't have any wakelocks or something syncing all day.
This goes without saying that i've not tried a ROM that drains my battery on ICS, Codename Android, CM9, PixelROM and one or two others have all been perfectly fine with my setup.
do battery apps work? has anybody actually done testing on different ones and witch ones work best?
i want one for my stock sensation and my acer a501 with a custom rom.
thanks all

they work in some sense but also dont in another lol.
ICS is pretty efficient i dont feel the need for one. however they work if u want it to monitor consumption in more detail.... but thus meaning the app is always running - so using more battery.
i wouldnt use them permanently - maybe for a few days to find a source of battery drain.
Well I usually have CurrentWidget with me, just to check if something strange is happening with my mA consume... but for battery drain I've tried many and none worked, just follow some tutorials on this forum about Battery, they help more than any app to improve your battery life
Hai..
Im just switching to AOSP JB by AdamG Version 0.1.4.
No mod, stock AdamG ROM kernel, full wipe, just install few app such as whatsapp, cpuspy, medscape etc...this is not my daily phone..
the problem is very high battery drain..
in 4 hours battery drop from full charged to 69%..
Here the screenshot and BBS stats...Can somebody help me please to find the culprit??
Is Google Now on? it takes a ton of battery.

You need to install a better app. The Android built in power usage thing is about as much use as a chocolate teapot, and better battery stats isn't much better.
Try system panel from Play, you will need the paid version from here. Put it in monitoring mode and leave it for a few hours.
You will be able to see what is chewing CPU then, and that is invariably the thing that is causing the drain. It very rarely fails to assist me with diagnosis of an obscure drain issue.
Ok..just bought system panel app.will update about this crazy battery drain later..
Thanks thalamus..

Cool, it's well worth the couple of dollars.
I've used it pretty much constantly in monitoring mode since they were in beta when I had my desire. So, probably not far off a couple of years usage with me.
It doesn't eat battery either, because it polls when the device wakes up for another reason.
And the thing which really makes it good for me, it records usage of the system tasks, such as kernel threads, which can be massively handy in diagnosing an issue.
Solved by flashing latest adamG ROM..
Thanks adam and thalamus..haha..enjoyed my nexus s back...

I have given away my G3 to my Little Brother who doesnt really use it much, just for emergencies etc. But it will always be on so I need a ROM that doesnt really have much features or look nice (Theres always a launcher) but is functional and the battery lasts long.
Is there such ROM and what should I be doing to increase battery life? DeClock? (Running at 1Ghz At the moment!)

If u r battery conscoius then u can try Purumod.....it says battery lasts for 5 days but for average use it lasts for 2 days anytime. i used it myslef thats why i m saying it!
Hit thanks if u r helped!:cyclops::cyclops:
Yep that's right, Purumod should be good, but don't forget to calibrate battery If Purumod doesn't fullfill you're requirements try any other rom with fugumod standard kernel
Kyrillos rom 9.7.1 with fugu mod standard
Just flash Kyrillos rom using Odin And then Flash Fugumod standard 667 MHz kernel using ClockwordMod recovery.. u will get best battery life and this rom is smooth and bug free..
