So I am on a new ROM trying it out (Xplod JB 4.1.2 by XSmagical) and I am trying to make a zip for a new battery icon. I made it in the UOT kitchen but the very second I press install from twrp recovery, it says "failed" immediately.
I uploaded the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from the ROM per the instructions and downloaded the ZIP from the "pickup" screen. The file name is UOT-12-01-20-34-1.
For those who have themed or used this tool, what did I do wrong? The only thing I can think is I unchecked the "theme chooser preview" at the bottom of the File upload page. Could that be it?
Thanks!

Here is a quick guide to changing Fonts in a ROM. This has worked in every Sense ROM I have tried, I have not tried in NON-Sense ROMs.
I can not take credit for the Programs/Files used. I did not make them. This is just a quick tutorial. If you are looking for a way to change the Fonts in a ROM, other than the included font, or the Stock Font, here is what I did successfully.
1. Download the Stock Fonts zip from here. Stock Font
2. Download "Font Selector v1.4" from this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...04&postcount=1
3. unzip the Font selector file. Inside, you will find a file "Font Selector" open this file and open the "Fonts" file. You can browse through each fonts file and double click on one of the .ttf files to see a preview. When you find the font you want, leave that folder open.
4. Using winrar, leave the "Stock Fonts" file zipped and double click the file. Winrar will let you work in the file while leaving it zipped. Go into the Font folder and replace all the files with all the files in the font folder of your choice from Font selector.
5. Save the changes in winrar.
6. Re-sign the zip file, then load it to your sdcard. For info how to sign a zip, go to this link - http://androidforums.com/49232-post1.html (Rest assured, this is VERY easy. I did this while I was a complete NOOB here.)
7. Flash the zip through recovery.
Hope this helps.
Just adding, as it was pointed out in another thread, you can also use a program called "Type Fresh", Free in the Market, to change fonts. There is no preview in the type fresh program, so it will be trial and error, till you find a font you are happy with.
Also, the link for re-signing zips, is not just specific to this procedure. Once you follow the steps in that link, you can re-sign ANY zip files that need signing. Amon_RA recovery requires zips to be signed in order to flash them to the phone, and some developers don't sign the files. After you do the steps in the link, if you have a problem flashing a file in Amon_RA, right click the zip and select "Resign zip"
For font selector i just run the font_selector.bat while my phone is plugged in....changes it easily..

That's cool. I tried a few times with font_selector.bat, and kept getting error messages, which caused me to try to find a different way. If Font Selector works fine, for people, that is much easier. I just added this to help if people have problems using it.
Hi, I'm a long time reader, but first time poster. I was hoping someone could help me with this. I'm running a stock deodexed rom and i've changed my battery icons and several others so far, but i'm looking for this exact set of battery icons that I can install through recovery. I'm not sure how to go about making these icons into a zip file to install through recovery or I would do it. Is it possible for someone to make these into icons I can install or else point me to where I can find the file to install? Thanks!
Maybe I could give you a little tutorial? I have manually changed lots of icons in my framework like this. But I started with Jericks smooth sense icons framework, You might need a modified framework to start with and this is a good one because the most modified part of it is the battery. I would pull your framework as instructed below and make sure the appropriate files are there first.
1. Nandroid!
2. Use your file explorer and navigate to system/framework and copy the framework-res.apk to your sd card and then to your computer.
3. Use 7-zip to open it up and navigate to res/drawable-hdpi-v4
4. If you see in this folder all of the same files as in the zip you posted? Then you may proceed by deleting all of those files from your existing framework and then copying the new battery icons into the folder in their place. When you exit from the apk it will ask it you want to update it, do so.
5. Go to this site http://circle.glx.nl/ and select flashable zip only, upload your newly modified framework-res.apk, select next to upload and create your new zip which you can download.
6. Place on sd card and flash through recovery.
Thank you so much! This looks a lot easier now that you explained it. I really appreciate the help!

I sent you a PM on Droid Forums, but I'll post it here too. This is the smooth sense icons with the blue circle battery that you wanted. Make a backup first. Let me know if you have any problems.
You can get it here.

Lock Screen
I don't mean to hijack this thread, just want to keep the forums clean from similar threads;
but has anyone had any luck making a new lock screen with UOT on infused with AOSP?
Nothing changes when I flash it, even with a manual mount in recovery.
If its not done for you tonight I will give it a shot. UOT always works for me.

Optimus Prime disapproves of this so called Hi-jacking... LOL no its cool. i havent been able to get to work for me. its so disappointing...
Ok here it is!! I did not include the boot animation because I am brand new to Samsung, like 4 days and I don't know where it is located. So if you can let me know where the boot animation is in TouchWiz I will change it! It is Hooolm Hybrid battery, with Hooolm G8 icons. Clear Dalvik Cache, and let me know how it goes!! NAND!!!!!!!! Backup just in case.
If it doesn't flash properly try mounting data and system.

it wont let me download my framework and systemui
You dont download your framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk, those are the files you copy and upload to the kitchen to be cooked. For froyo its just the framework-res.apk
I just did this myself last night and it was really easy.
First, I installed the modified 3e recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091465
Reboot phone then download rom manager from the market and flash the clockwork recovery for the galaxy s i9000. This creates an update.zip file located in /sdcard.
While in rom manager, reboot into recovery and select "reinstall packages", you will need to select "reinstall packages" twice.
Now that your in the modified 3e recovery you will be able to flash the uot file that was cooked for you.
This is the way I did it and had no issues at all.

Sorry i said it wrong.... Uot kitchen wont let me UPLOAD them to be made
Big dog Infuse I997 running Infused v2.0.4 Gingerbread, Gingerbread OP kernel
Under the "file upload" tab on uot kitchen website, look for the heading "Select your rom from the kitchen's list, or upload your own files". Choose "system files" and you will be able to upload the appropriate files from your pc for cooking.

Anyone know what device to select in the 'File Upload' tab?
I have been trying to change the black status bar icons to 'G15 Androidian' but everytime i flash the zip thru cwm, nothing changes. The other effects such as fonts and battery icon changes. Just not the status bar icons. I usually select Optimus under the 'Select flashable zip scripting' in 'File Upload' tab. Should we be just leaving it to MTD? I upload the framework and systemUI manually.

i too would also like to know the answer to this ! i have searched and cannot find anything! everytime i flash my cooked theme i always get stuck bootloopin, some one who has got it working for the g2x plz tell me which to choose!!!!
I've used UOT kitchen before on my old G1 and Mytouch4g with no problems. But ya for some reason when i load the system files (systemui.apk/framework.res) it always gives me an error in recovery and won't flash.
I only use Faux's Nexus AOSP rom which was easily customizable on uot with the mt4g and should be the same on the G2X, yet running into problems..
Guess i should try loading the androidian theme next i guess
Lol I just found out about it and went to the website and it worked.. just now.
Yea the kitchen works but did u flash it? What did u put for the scripting? Someone plz tell me! I can't find help anywhere?

Hallo, I´ve problems installing UOT Themes via the recovery (clockwork mod 5.0.2). Trying to install the .zip files throws me "error 0". In the kitchen I have read to substitute a certain file from the rom, but having done this the installer aborts without doing anything. I can manually substitute the framework.res file via rootexplorer, but this isn´t elegant and annyoing.
Does anybody have experiences with this problem or a solution to this?
TIA
Marcus4Aspern
Yeah what I do is once I've done the theme downloaded it I get the update-binary file from the rom I'm using which is here in the zip file \META-INF\com\google\android\ and then exchange it with the one in the zip file from the kitchen and then flash it with CWM. I've done that with every theme I've done and its worked every time
