[TUTORIAL / HOW-TO VIDEO] How to restore your Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hello everyone
I made this video on how to restore / unbrick (for soft-bricked devices) your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE Skyrocket I727. Hope this helps some people out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I don't think this unbricks your phone as that requires JTAG. This should more bebantut on downgrade/upgrade. Sort of misleading.

Well, i guess that's that.
Thank You.
Is there any i757 developers forum out there?

Phone goes into recovery (3e) instead of download mode.

Title says it all. Any ideas why it is putting me into recovery mode instead of download?
Just in case if this forum doesn't give it away, I have the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket AT&T (SGH-I727)

Well you know better than I. If its broke it's broke. Still suggest you see vincom's guide. If you can get into recovery or download it's recoverable unless you have some serious stuff going on

Have you taken the battery out and put it back in and then tried to get in download mode? And what are you trying to do once you get in download?
Edit the op is a goner. Didn't want to save his phone. He knew better than anyone here.

No its not. This is the Galaxy Tab 7 Plus forum. You can hard brick your device in seconds flashing the wrong stuff so read carefully before flashing anything and make double sure you have the right files as most devs work on multiple devices.

[Q] AT&T provided unlock code does not work on samsung gakaxy s2 i727

Hi!
I need to use my sgs2 i727 outside us and called AT&T for unlock code and they provided me but it didn't work. I call them back, told them again the EMEi and they provided the same code..which as I told doesn't work.
Can somebody, please, give me a solution.
Thanks

+1
op's question to vague
are you on stock
exactly whats steps did you take in entering the code
answer could be in the 1stop sticky in the guide/info section
AT&A are bunch of asses when it comes to unlock codes , they will come up with million excuses not to unlock your device...
Search for 3rd party companies online who can sell you the unlock code for your IMEI,it can cost you 10-30$ but well worth it of you really need your device outside of at&t.
Is your device rooted? If so u will need to return to stock firmware for it to work hope u get it going

Thanks for all the answers!
I resolved the problem with buying a new code from ebay and there they gave me instructions how to type it.
Thanks

Help PLEASE

Hello everyone,
I would like to start by saying I'm totally new to this world, so I ask that you hang in there with me. Ok
So I just rooted my Samsung sch-r820 (galaxy admire 4g) with metro pcs.
I want to update my software. I install clockworkmod but it seems not to be working.
I tried cyanmod but my device is unsupported. So my question is can i even update anything. Or am i stuck with gingerbread til i buy a new device.

By doing a quick Google search I couldn't find any development for this device here at XDA. So probably there won't be any CWM recovery/CyanogenMod ports for this model. Also don't try installing CWM recovery or CyanogenMod mentioned for other devices, as doing it so will brick your device.
I was wondering if I could use the Samsung admire info do you know?

Not sure what you meant by Samsung Admire Info?!
I know your device is Samsung Admire 4G, but what exactly do you want to modify in it? If you are looking for ICS ports, the chances for it will be quite less considering its not much popular device.
Yes i want ics

Samsung Admire, or Galaxy Admire ... both should be same.
Samsung Galaxy Admire has 800Mhz processor and Admire 4G has 1Ghz, so as there is a change in hardware most likely it won't work. You may need to port the ROM to Admire 4G in order for it to work.
I have no idea what port is or how to do it. Thank you for taking the time out and helping me.

Yeah, porting is something beyond the scope of what you've asked. Anyways if interested you can always have a look for Tutorials in XDA University, as there are tons of them. Good luck and have a nice day. :good:
