Revert To Stock From JB - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hello friends, I have a neighbor who has a G2x and want to know if you can return back to official GB stock rom for this device and you need to do.
Use the search engine and found nothing about it.
regards

You already posted in the thread that specifically and explicitly says how to do this....just saying
Edit: make that three threads.
the ROM you're using has absolutely nothing to do with installing new ROMs. Recovery is not affected. So yes, all of those methods will work from JB

[Q] How to restore original GB rom(to get warranty) when USB only charging works

Hello everyone!
I need to get original GB rom to get on my p500, but my usb mass storage/debugging mode is dead, so my phone is not recognized by any computer using different cables. I have also used hardware reset and i am running out of options.
I know that KDZ updater is used for original software but is there another way to do it other than usb?
Is there any other solution?
Thanks in advance!
Can you enter recovery? If so i can get you a zip of, V20G or V20I they are stock ,but its already deodex ,apps2sd ,rooted, busybox and runparts dixda kitchen tweaks only but if you want one of those p.m. me i send you link.

Yes i can enter recovery. That would be a lot easier to get warranty. Thanks a lot i will send you a pm.
If anyone else could share a zip of stock V20x that is not rooted would be very much appriciated.

I don't know how it is in your country but in Romania by rooting a rom you already break standard warrenty.

That is the same in my country, but it is still better to have at least stock UI/rom.
Oh and i forgot i have old baseband radio. Do i need stock froyo now?
U can switch to stock froyo to convince LG to fix ur phone if it is Broken.

Mine got with ICS, but the mainboard was broken... they fixed it free
Sent from my LG-P500
In case of broken mainboards, from what i know, they can't tell if the phone had custom rom or that it was even rooted because your system partition is on that mainboard and it's not cost effective to try and salvage the system partition to prove you broke the warenty.
Stock froyo or gingerbread would not raise any suspicions at the service but then again, they can be installed only via kdz witch needs usb, the thing that is broken in your phone. From my knoledge.
Maybe after you flash the rooted froyo or gb you can unroot? Haven't tried that on flashable gb or froyo. If that would work i think you would be safe and the warenty would remain intact

i already send you link you can unroot rom after install it.
I have decided to try to flash stock froyo + stock recovery. Hopefully it will leave no trace of my custom rom and rooting activities
Searching this forum and google I have only found one flashable zip of stock froyo V10e, since almost all links are dead or threads are closed, but for my country it says V10d. Can anyone that still posesses these files, reuploads them somewhere? Since our phone is getting older, people with a problem like mine might still need them. Or this isn't really important?

Question about custom Rom

Hello Guys
I have a Samsung S5830i phone with Gingerbread.XXLI1. I have rooted the phone successfully. I want to installed RazerDroid Rom. The link is as follows :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816611. It says that it can be installed from Stock Rom. Is XXLI1 Stock Rom???
Please advise.
Hello girish78,
as far as I know is this the latest Stock Firmware.
I'm new to this but if I'm not mistaken, it depends on the baseband version the rom is based on. Even though yours XXLI1 and its stock, i think there are many more with stock roms for your phone with different baseband versions. I think you should try to ask the developer of the rom to avoid any problems.
Sorry if this wasnt helpful.

Is your cwm fully working? Check if it can back up and restore, back up your rom then restore it. If it works then i think it will be ok to install the rom because you have a back up incase anything goes wrong. Remember, there are still risks involved. I went to the link and done some reading, theres no baseband info specified. Goodluck buddy:thumbup:

Rafael Baugis Kernel Update
Hi All
I want to update the kernel and the process mentions me to install boot.img, then install Rom and then install the module. Check this thread.

Cannot I just install the module to update the kernel????
Please advise.
Its generally a good idea to follow the instructions given by the developer it might work for you if you try it your way but it would really suck if it doesnt. follow the given instructions rather:thumbup:

Back-up

Hey,
If i restore a backup that i created from stock 4.04 ICS will that return me to "stock" and prevent verizon from finding out that I ever rooted or flashed CM10?
I am thinking about returning my phone.
Thanks!

Kind of, you would need to restore the backup, use ez recovery to install stock recovery, then unroot the phone.
This is all assuming you've never installed another radio. I personally would just Odin back to stock

Yes, agree, use Odin and flash a G1 stock firmware is your best bet.

So Odin back to stock would be my best bet. I did install a new radio but reception is horrible with these JB ROMs. My ICS ROM stock ROM had great reception. I can't seem to fix it.

I mean I like jelly bean cm10 but I can't justify the reception loss for new software. If anybody had a fix for this let me know.

I actually asked about the radios because those aren't replaced when you restore your nand so Verizon (if they looked) could tell it was customized. As far as radios and reception is really what works for your phone and area. For instance, I'm on Eclipse with the new radio and it's better then ever. Others on Eclipse have reported the new radio putting them into roaming.

Camera problems

My camera doesn't work on any rom. It opens then force closes saying "camera not connected" or "camera not working".
WHen i restore to my stock backup It works fine.
I've tried these roms in this order:
synergy
liquid
cm10
axis
all latest updates
I use TWRP 2.5
When i originally rooted i used ODIN and followed it to a T.
Like i said being stock my camera works. When i flash a rom it doesn't. Also i try reflashing, fix permisisions. no luck......... Seems to be the only thing not working too. Only problem is I have to have my camera!
Any help would be great!
Tony
I have the same problem and still haven't figure it out, tried all types of solution none have worked still "can not connect and failed "

But when you restore your stock backup your camera still works?
Did you flash anything from the new update? Or are the roms that you are on based on the new one?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
When i rooted my phone... 2 days ago
I was only the latest samsung over the air update.
when i was done rooting I made sure everything works then did a back up so i can always revert.
When i flash any of the roms I just flash the latest available. If it requires gapps i use the one for the build it's for. 4.1 or 4.2
And like i said I'm on twrp 2.5
The fact that it works stock tells me it's software and maybe related to TWRP? but i can't figure out how.
The new update is the problem, it breaks the camera if your rom is based on the old firmware.

So what now? I'm guessing flash a old Samsung stock then root? But how and where
I've been rooting and flashing different devices for awhile but never had issues'
I really appreciate all the help!
I'm not the best at explaining things. I just went back to my backup and stayed with that. My camera works fine now.
I'm sure someone will come to help and explain it better.

There is a custom firmware package that has the MD3 bootchain and the MB1 modem that will work across all roms. I'm at work now but I'll try to link it when I get off. It's somewhere in the BoneStock ROM thread if you feel like finding it yourself.

Just updated the kernel to the new kt747 jb 4.2 june 8 2013 and the camera works.
Flash mb1 firmware, the modified file someone is talking about is simply the md3 modem with an mb1 tz. The md3 modem gives shotty data connection for most people and the mb1 radio will probably work better for you.
Just flash the mb1 firmware aio package, that should fix your problem.
Please try to search next time, this question has been answered everyday for a week, and this method works for almost everybody.

Atrix 2 ROM questions

I'm wondering what is the benefit to using a custom ROM on the Atrix 2? I've been eyeballing the dirty unicorn ROM, but honestly the stock ROM seems to work well enough. With my kindle fire it was an obvious choice as I hated the stock ROM, but other than a few missing features the Atrix 2 seems just fine. What's you guys thoughts?

more options, less bloatware, runs faster, and more stable, actual suupport that you dont get from motorola.
along with a cleaner look, but thats all opinion.
Basically the same reason for all devices. Stock just sucks.

If you like stock ICS, but are considering a custom ROM then you should try NUMA.
It's still ICS, but it's a huge upgrade from the Motorola ICS, and because it is stock based it's the only custom ROM that has all the hardware features working. That said, since the breakthrough with Kexec, I have flashed every JB ROM here and they're all great in their own respects. My advice to you would be to try them all. You're sure to find one that suits your needs.

Couple of more questions, first up: what's Kexec? Next: if I flash a custom is it possible to go back stock? Last up: does flashing a ROM effect your unlock status? I would hate to lose that.

My knowledge of Kexec is limited but my understanding is that it is a way to load a custom kernel on top of the stock kernel. This is needed because the locked bootloader prevents us from simply overwriting the stock kernel.
Yes you can flash the FXZ via RSD lite to return to stock. You'll need to find the FXZ that is specific to you're phone ESPECIALLY if it is an AT&T branded phone. Just make sure you know your phone's model number and firmware version so you can find the correct FXZ.
No, flashing a ROM will not have any effect on your carrier unlock, and neither will flashing an FXZ.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.
Just did some looking at numa. Looks good on paper, I like Ics so I don't think I'll upgrade to jellybean anytime soon. So numa it is when I decide to flash. But it looks like I need to do my homework on flashing the Atrix 2. that locked bootloader seems to be a pain. I don't need a bricked device.
Sent from my MB865 using xda app-developers app
Honestly if you follow flashing instructions in the op of rom threads, chances are very slim that you will brick. Soft brick, maybe, but those are easy to recover from. My rule of thumb, titanium backup everything before flashing a rom,

Just flashed numa and I'm very happy with it so far. It seems to be really stable so far, and allot of the extras are nice. Like the toggles in the notification bar. Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer my questions, it really helped.

If you can not answer these types of questions on your own then you have no business flashing anything as you will most likely get yourself in trouble. What you need to do is read, read, read, read, and read and learn the answers to these questions for yourself. All the information you need is readily available and easy to find you just have to look for it. Step by step instructions are listed in the op of every ROM so there is no need to repost them all here. The only short cuts with this phone almost always lead directly to bricked phones. Also, "best ROM" inquiries not allowed because the answers are subject to user experience and therefore varies from user to user. What is good for me may not be good for you.

You probably flashed the ROM which had to be flashed only via BMM. Do an fxz and flash ROM using BMM.

You can only flash GB ROMs if your stock firmware is GB. If your stock firmware is ICS, you can flash any ICS or jb ROM. That's probably what your issue is. Just reflash your FXZ, root, install Boot Menu Manager and try one of the ICS or JB ROMs. Make sure you read the instructions thoroughly this time to avoid any more problems.

I doubt it. If you're on GB then you probably need this instead:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606257
And if you are on GB, then you can only flash the ROMs that are meant for GB. They are kind of old, though, and no longer supported.
