I have CleanROM 5 with krapmods, I need to know if it is possible to have my default be that when I go to phone for it to be recent instead of keypad? Also when I go to recent to make a call or return a missed call pressing on the recent caller brings up there properties and then I have to make another press to call them, is there a way to eliminate the second one? I know I can just press send but I still have to press the caller to dial out, that is also two presses.

Why don't you swipe right to call or swipe left to text when you are on the Recent Calls screen? There's no second screen when doing it this way and it's part of TouchWiz.

Still means having to get to the recent calls screen after opening the phone. I want it to be already there.

I have notes in a memo on my phone. They are codes I need to punch in when I dial a certain number. OK, so I open my memo pad. Then I start a phone call. Then I go back to the memo pad. But how the heck do I then bring up the dial pad again? I couldn't find a way to get to that menu screen once I was on a call and opened a different app mid call.
cliffs:
1) opened memo pad to read memo
2) called a phone number
3) went back to memo pad to read numbers
4) no way to bring up the dial pad to enter these numbers
5) in frustration wrote the numbers on a piece of paper, hung up, and called back. I shouldn't have to do this...
I had to do this once a well. What I did was after looking at notes, hold down the menu button to bring up the recent programs list. From there, select phone.

Use Notifications abr
Pull down the notifications bar. It should have a link to the phone call session.
Like the other poster mentioned, holding the home button is another option.
^what he said!

I'll try that next time.
i actually went to my home screen and clicked on 'phone" from the dock. I would have expected it to know I was on a call and give me the option to pull up the dial pad. it didn't...
Hello,
I'm on Serendepidity and when I receive a call it takes 3-4 times to "slide to answer" before it will actually work. Any ways to fix it or is it possible to completely replace dialer with just buttons instead of "sliders"?
Thanks,
Have you tried just pressing the answer button first for about a 1/4 or 1/2 second then sliding? That's what I do.

I'll do this next time. But I never had this issue on Captivate. And generally I prefer buttons instead of sliding action. Is there an option to replace this or fix the issue.
Nope. Not yet anyway.
Just go in your settings, calling, then I think advanced,.option to answer by pressing any of the home buttons.

I was wondering if someone can come up with a patch/or code change where when in the text messaging app while viewing someones text, but then hitting the home button takes you back to the main screen but when you re enter your messaging app it doesnt go back to that persons text instead goes back to the main messaging screen. i hate having to hit the back button repeatedly. i will donate 10 dollars for this hack. please someone figure this out for me. all 3rd party apps seem to do this but they are not stable. please help
All you have to do is hut the back once then just press the home button? I mean not that hard I do it all the time

Well maybe not exactly what you want but, for one on one txing, you can hold down on home screen when menu pops up(add to home screen) click short cuts> direct message> choose who you wanna direct message.....After this you can message the person you choose then click home button then click the short cut again.you be taken back to that same message you just sent if it's the same person.hope I'm not confusing you.
stripped apart rebuilt with Clean Rom&XdaTechnology!!!
is there any tweak or mod for one mini in dialer when your calling one number multiple times and when is busy you just press once call back button and phone is starting to call the number again?
the dialer will generally display the name/number of the last person you connected with, so just tap on it and it automatically dials.

ok this is the deal,I'm calling some radio stations for some free stuff, and with android dialer it takes so much time after its shows busy and get back to dialer again so i need to tap on back button to make it faster but after i tap back I'm getting home screen,so i know its weird question i could not find mod to tweak for that,on bbs after its shows busy the call back button appears and i need just to press once and phone start to call same number again wiry good and fast dialling so there is such a option for htc?
I quite like the stock dialler, but how do you phone someone quickly? Currently I:
1) press the dialler icon
2) press the * icon
3) press the avatar for the person I want to call
4) click on the desired phone number (home, mobile, work etc).
Can I somehow skip at least step 4 and have a default number for them so that just clicking their contact photo phones them (and long pressing pulls up the other info, perhaps)?
1) press the dialer icon
2) start typing the name of the person you want using the dialpad (similar to T9)
3) Press the name and number you want to dial, it will initiate the call

That's another way to do it, certainly, but it doesn't seem to do very much towards reducing the number of keys I press!

Stick the top contacts widget on the desktop and use that, two clicks, or click phone and make sure the top three people are one of the ones you want to dial, or scroll and the keyboard disappears to show call log. 2 Clicks.
Can't say there is going to be a much quicker way of doing it short of voice controls...
There should be speed dial settings but there aren't
You can put direct dials into a swipe launcher. You can call those wity one swipe. Smart task launcher for example has more than 700 spots, swipe pad is more user friendly.
I have used this widget on almost every android I have had in the last few years: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.yuyang226.contactswidget
I use Nova Launcher. Swipe up on the dialer icon means direct call to my wife ?
