Not sure uf I have faulty headphones or a faulty jack, but my headphones do not make a good connection with the input jack. That being said, when I am listening to internet radio, and my headphone plug gets moved or twisted, the Note switches over to the music app automatically and begins to play the preinstalled music file. This is very annoying.
Questions -
1. What if I do gave a faulty jack? Will I have to send my note for repairs?
2. What if a new pair of headphones do not lose connection as easy? Is there a way to make the Note not activate the music app when it detects headphones?
3. Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks

Have you tried another pair of headphones?
On my Desire HD I have a pair of JVC's that are slightly bent and when they're twisted it does some funky stuff. Could be a similar problem?

Anyone else experience the audio notifications and ringtones playing through the back speaker and through headphones at the same time?

Yes, I can confirm this. When using headphones or having my phone connected to my car stereo with the 3.5mm jack the notifications are still played through only the phone speaker.

wow i must be overtly tired today; I just can't seem to find it in the settings.
A little pissed that no headphone plus came with the phone, si I haven't tested, however it appears that my car audio input it not working on the g2x I can hear the caller, but they can't hear me has anyone tested phone calls using ear plugs?
When I plug into my car input, the external phone mic appears to be turned off and I can hear callers, but they can't hear me.
On my vibrant, I use my car speakers to listen and the phone mic to talk
Is there a way to keep the phone mic on when the jack is plugged in?
when using the head phones on my phone it still sends the audio to the speaker. The phone recognizes that something is plugged in but it still plays through the speaker on the phone. My guess it's a software bug. Can anyone confirm?

i have two htc official headphones,
first headphone problem
when i connect the headphones to mobile or laptops etc, there is no sound from speaker of headphones, but sign on laptop and desire hd shows that headphones are connected
second headphone problem
when i connect the headphones to desire hd or laptop. Voice is very low and distorted.there is some kind of noise coming from the speaker.
Any suggestion how to fix the headphone
Jack of laptop and desire hd is fine. I have tried other headphone they are working fine
I guess that the headphones as a bug, it feels that you did all the tests.
i think both are broken
i guess some connector are break
Unfortunately, the headphones are a bit fragile. 2 of mine got issues on their own
It makes more sense to get new ones
can you test it on another device?
Else the keys are wrong, i had it some time too on a costum rom
Check the pin on your earphones for any damage like deep scratches

I have a similar problem: After updating to IceColdSandwich, my original HTC headphones don't work, but Bluetooth Headset is fine.
Anyone know how to fix that?
Same for me... Think its caused by IceColdSandwich... It worked perfectly before on RunnyDroid... Maybe it will be fixed in next Version?!
why do my calls sound different (bad) than music or other audio?
I had the same problem with mine HTC headphones. I just threw them and bought new ones. You could try to get them repaired but I dont think its worth it. You can buy better headphones.
If you call up HTC and give them ur imei they'll send you out a new pair.

My problem is that as of today when I plug my headphones into my phone (I do get the headphone icon at the top) then I go play music or anything and it comes out the built in speaker.
Anyone help me with this, I lightly cleaned the Jack thinking that was the problem but no and the phone sees the headphones.

Hey! I have an audio problem with my device. When i just play some music with google play using my headphones (that came with galaxy 3 that i have) it sounds like i am hearing in low quality and i can't hear some parts that are playing. For example, sometimes i can't hear the singer singing or the guitar plays. Kinda like my device is playing stereo and my headphones gets only one side.
It's worth mentioning that i tried other headphones, which didn't help much. I have tried other audio apps also and got the same results.
I have searched for an answer to the situation for quite some time now and didn't find any.
Thank you
I
Either there's a problem with the headphones (but you imply it is the same across different ones), or they are not plugging in properly. Is the jack in fully? Is there something lurking in the socket that might stop the jack from connecting?

the problem is that this issue happens with other headphones too.
maybe you should try to loose the headphone jack a little bit, hope this works
Well i tried playing a little with the jack but no luck...
what do you mean by "loose the headphone jack a little bit" ?
I don't want to cause any physical damage ...
Either the jack was incorrectly installed or the jack is defective. I would RMA the unit if I were you.

Today I had an issue where my volume was all the way up and the phone plugged into the receiver wouldn't work. The s3 I have here would play just fine though.
