Hello. I'm about to flash a cm ROM and I'm not sure I should flash the stable or the latest nightlies build, I'm guessing the stable has less bugs, right?
nightly for sure... the stable had quite a few bugs that are now fixed in nightly.

but I was wondering if anyone knows why the nightly version of the much updates
or am i have installed stable then install nightly update or what?i do not understand this!!!i have trouble with my bluetooth on stable and nightly version
so what is the difference between stable and nightly and how install updates why i must install everytime new updates
sorry for my bad english and thanks everybody who help me
someone knows any good rom is fast and conserves battery power
Stable just means their arent really any bugs or glitches while nightlies might have some. Nightlies might have a few bugs here and there, but it shouldn't affect your performance too much

i like nightly but some people say is stable better i try stable but my bluetooth not work so i try this
1.install stable 7.2.0 cooper
2.then I was installed over the stable a nightly latest update but i dont wipe data, cache and other i just install first stable then over stable install a nightly update
in my opinion it is done so that you have to first install stable then over this version install nightly update without having to do wipe data, wipe dalvik etc...
So if I was okay to do because my phone is working normally even though I system was installed over one another
I see they made a stable build and then a new nightly the day after? Was this a mistake or what?

No, nightlies are automatically compiled whether there are new changes or not. The ones that are labeled RC2 or stable build are ones they feel that is good enough for release. Any new changes in nightlies can introduce new bugs so usually its test at your own risk but for the most part they should run fine.
Pretty much its like saying this build is stable, then they say oh lets change this to see if it helps with this but it ends up messing up so they revert back to the stable build. RC2 is more of a milestone and with the stable 9.0.0 build that one they announced was going to be the last build as they're going to be working on CM10/Jellybean. It will still get nightlies but most of the time additional changes will either be minor (that doesnt affect you) or critical (a bug that needs to be fixed). :good:
Is there any reason to have one over the other? Why are they still releasing nightlies after the stable release came out? I'm currently using the latest nightly and wondering if I should switch.
Thanks.

Read the thread, it describes why it's named release, and why there are still nightlies. Having the newest nightly is probably still best.
Which thread? I couldn't find that info.
Here is the explanation for you.

I understand the difference. That the nightlies are or can be buggy but what is the major difference between the current stable version of CM10 stable vs. Nightly? Someone said it was only a HTML file stating it was stable?
the latest stable is is quite old to the newest nightly, and the newest nightly has the latest fixes

That's what I was thinking and read somewhere that stable is just a file stating its stable and really no different then nightly.

well that may have been the case a few months ago, but now the newest nightly is more stable than the old stable
hi,
I have installed CM 10.1 nightly build on my Nexus s. It works find for me no issues as yet seen. But I wnat to know if the M Snapshots release is muchh better that the Nightlies. Is it okay to upgrage to M Snapshot ROM (Mostly stable is what i have heard) .
If the anwer is yes, Do i need to do a clean flash or just by updating it will work fine???
regards,
Ft.
The snapshots are for people who don't want to flash nightlies constantly. The M1 is the exact same as the 1/21 nightly. Flashing a snapshot is essentially the same as flashing the 1/21 nightly and sticking with it until the 2/21 nightly...
The M1 is stable, as are all of the nightlies.
