I flashed gapps 4.2 about 2 weeks ago and everything was fine until yesterday. My camera app freezes after taking a photo and my gmail app won't load all my emails. Now here is the weird thing, I've flash different gapps and they're still there. I've done a factory reset and wiped the cache and dalvik cache and still nothing. Its seems that the only way to fix it is un-rooting it. Is there any other way to delete the gapps off my phone?

Just flash your ROM again. No need for a factory reset.

Delete them manually. Use a file explorer and go to system, app and delete the ones you want gone.

Reflash gapps and never use rom manager.

There's nothing at all wrong with Rom Manager. It's a great thing. As long as recovery is flashed with NVflash.

I don't recommend it to anyone I've used it once, flash failed or download failed, either way needed a battery pull had to use CWM I will only recommend CWM, lol.

He means if you never used rom manager to ever download or flash recovery and ONLY used nvflash... then rom manager will ALWAYS and ONLY boot into your only cwm recovery.
But yeah, did you download and flash gapps like mt3g asked?
Which gapps are you using? I flashed the one that's said to use in the thread and my phone said they're 2.3.5 and had a few issues, I just googled the 2.3.7 ones and everything works fine for me

Unfortunately for me modded gapps won't flash, and Gmail from the market isn't marking mail as read. I did use scrubber.. Anybody had this issue?

what do you mean won't flash? are you flashing it right after you flash PB rom?
That's correct, scrubber->pb rom->gapps. There is no gmail app after the boot.
i didnt download the rom from rom manager. i installed it from rom manager i ran gapps and everything seems to be in order now
Since I'm not allowed to post anywhere else
I know on the Phoenixblood main thread at the end it says to wipe, but if I am going from 1.6 to 1.7 is that really necessary? It seems like there were only minor changes. Meaning, can I just wipe dalvik and cache and be okay?
Well for others wondering like me, I just wiped cache and dalvik and upgraded to 1.7. So far so good.

hey had a question about trying to install the 4.2 gapps. im currently running King Kang rom with the kernel that came with it (not 5) and TWRP. after i downloaded the .zip and went to install from recovery it instantly fails every time that i try it. am i missing a step somewhere, or do i need to be running kernel 5 or something?
Could be a bad download. Make sure signature check is off

Yea sig check is off, downloaded 2 different zips and both do the same

Download cm10 again ans reflash it, cleanly. Wipe system/cache/dalvik. Then try and flash over gapps. But I'd do another wipe on cache/delvik before you flash it. Just trying to keep the flashing as clean as possible. It also might be a problem with the version of gapps you're using. Do you have the latest?

Your download is corrupt or the file got corrupted when transferring from comp to phone.
Just a quick question but an important one. Is it safe and that easy to update my CM10 just through:
Options -> About Phone -> CyanogenMod updates?
Do I need to know something else?
Thank you for reading in advance!

Ah ok... So there should be no problem updating from one nightly to another.
But to be safe make a nandroid backup before updating. Personally I never used the updater. Just downlod the nightly the usual way (or use the updater to download the rom) and flash it in recovery. Wipe cache and dalvik prior to that.
MrBerni
I do not need to factory reset, right?
And I need to do is install the zip from sd card and that's all? No gapps installing?

No need for factory reset as long as there are no problems afterwards. So make a nandroid to be on the safe side.
GApps will be backuped and restored during the update process so no need to reflash them. Again: As long as there are no problems with it afterwards.
So just downlod the rom, boot to recovery, make nandroid backup, wipe cache and dalvik cache and then flash rom.
MrBerni
Thank you for info

If it only happens on that rom it is most probably a bug in the rom try talking to the rom dev and telling him your problem.

Okay so I bought a Blaze a few days ago and I was messing around with it and I rooted it. When I rooted it I flashed a ROM and when the ROM booted up and got to the welcome screen it instantly turned rebooted itself, so I let it boot up again but it constantly reboots. Then I went back to a backup of the stock ROM and it still does the same thing. So I followed a guide that updated me to the ICS update in hopes of it fixing it but it still does the same thing! Now I don't know what to do with it. I was hoping maybe someone can help or if this has happened to anyone? Thanks in advance

Yes, the miui we have has a link to racing's blue lightning. I would try miui or another ROM again, but make sure to format /system along with wiping data, cache, and davlik. Or use black hole wipe. If you don't have anything important on the internal SD (or back it up) it might be worth it to format the emmc also.
