I recently moved to Berlin and i was very dissapointed when i found out prepaid tariffs are worthless here, vodafone offers maximum 500 mbs @ 7.2 Mbps for 25 euros and Tmobile offers 200 mb for 10 euros ( i don´t know if you can book extra mb in Tmobile prepaid my german is very poor right now) . I need at least 1 gb , which company do you think has the best coverage/signal and actual speeds?
Right now im using vodafone and i think their coverage is great, i have "H" pretty much everywhere , my friend has O2 with LTE and a lot of times he´s got no signal or he's on edge the thing is my 500 mb run out very quickly i need to make a contract and get at least 1 gb, what do you think i should do? Keep in mind i'm 23 and i get discounts for being young/student . Right now i'm interested in these plans:
This plan is for young people but i don't know which age they consider is young, maybe until 25 years?*
T-Mobile Complete Mobil L Friends (for young people) 36 euros: http://www.t-mobile.de/complete-mobi...5141-_,00.html
Flatrate to other tmobile phones
120 minutes to other phone companies
Flatrate in sms
1 gb of data @ 21 Mbps
Vodafone red M 50 euros: http://www.vodafone.de/privat/tarife...ne-tarife.html
Flatrate to phone networks
Flatrate in sms
1 gb of data @ 21 Mbps (originally its 40 euros for 500 mb but i selected the upgrage to 1 gb paying 10 more euros for a total of 50 euros)
Upgradable to 5 gb of data with +20 euros
So now it looks like tmobile is a no brainer, is cheaper at 35 euros vs 50 euros vodafone and i dont make that many long calls to justify paying 15 euros more at vodafone for a phone flat rate vs the 120 minutos at tmobile, the thing is i dont know if tmobile is as good as vodafone and also in a year im sure ill be upgrading to LTE and it looks like tmobile has no data plans for LTE, as of now, you can pay 10 more euros for an upgrade to LTE @50 Mbps with 2 gb to spend in data but that's just for 3 months or its free for 3 months? i think that you have to sign up for at least 3 months, i dont really get it (again my poor german skills) , heres the link for you to see

Hi all,
I'll be travelling to the US on business for one month, and I will be needing a sim card to put into my Tytn (HTC Hermes, quad band 3g). Does anyone know what's the best prepaid or one-month plan I can get that will give me unlimited data? I would really like to try out some of the broadband features of my wm6 phone (only edge in China, no 3g) so a plan that offered unlimited data on a high-speed network would be ideal. I'll be travelling to several states and many cities, so nationwide network is a must.
I hope someone can point me in the right direction, thanks!!!
i dont think there are any prepaid data plans in US, not that i heard of, only pre-paid voice/txt plans.
Hi, just in case anyone else asks this question, I was able to start an ATT Pick Your Plan prepaid account and then add the unlimited MediaNet for an extra $20. Medianet does give ma full www access. THe first couple of people I talked to said that i could not do this with an overseas credit card, was i able to use my bank of china card with no problem eventually. Also make sure that they add the medianet at the same time they open the account otherwise you will have to wait for 1 month to add the data. Also, don't tell them you have a PDA phone or they will charge you $40 for the exact same data plan.
Quality wise I am very pleased with the service, speeds are very fast and Google mobile maps is using GPRS to position me on a map with astounding accuracy...who needs GPS! Anyway, thanks for the help!
Hi,
Sorry for reopening this old thread, but I will be going to CA,USA in a while to and am used to having Mobile internet everywhere on my Touch Pro (Raph100) and from time to time tethering it to my laptop.
How did you go about getting the ATT sim card?
All suggestions are welcome off course.
PS:If I better start a new thread, let me know

AT&T and Verizon have prepaid data plans. Here is what AT&T offers on their prepaid data plans:
Daily – $15 for 75MB (20 cents a MB)
Weekly – $30 for 250MB (12 cents a MB)
Monthly – $50 for 500MB (10 cents a MB)
US carriers are still gouging. When I was in Ireland I got an O2 SIM card and they only charged 2 cents per MB.

Am I looking in the wrong place?
At http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...cell-phone-plans.jsp?wtSlotClick=1-004EHW-0-1 I only see:
0.01$/kB
or with 75$ charge, 200MB
or 19.99$ for a 100MB pack
or 4.99$ (!) for 1MB
Just FYI, here in Belgium (Mobile Vikings), I get for one recharge of 15Euro each month:
-1000SMS
-2Gig Data (albeit EDGE most of the time)
-0.24Euro per minute
Sadly, roaming in the US, I would be charged 3.5Euro/MB....
I think T-Mobile may have the best option going now

$1.49 for 24 hours of unlimited mobile web access. I don't know exactly what "mobile web" means or if it's limited functionality...
T-mobile is pretty good. You get t-zones for free (which is basically m.yahoo and m.abc), and then you get 200 MB of data per day for $1.49. My connections are slow (I use it maybe once a week), but that's probably due to my phone (ATT fuze) not having the right bands for 3G connections.
Simple mobile, metro pcs.. there are many
I currently have a T-Mobile MDA III (aka: Artemis) which i paid £60 for on a 12 month contract @ £15 per month. Any how my contract is now finished so im entitled to an upgrade or reduce line rental... or i could move to another operator. I like the look of the HTC Cruise but i cant see this model on T-Mobiles website, only the MDA Touch & Touch Plus.
Which UK operateors ([email protected] 02, vodafone, Orange, etc) sell the Cruise. Also anyone seen any good monthly contracts for upto £25 a month.
Hi there,
You can try o2 they have xda orbit 2 which is really a the same as a touch cruise in a slightly different casing.
check it out on their website. And find their tariff for orbit 2 .

You can get the O2 Orbit 2 for £49.99 and pay £30 a month for 24 months. This includes 600 minutes, 1000 texts and the Unlimited Web bolt on. Any less a month and the phone becomes rather expensive. Nearly as much as the £270 I was quoted for a Tmobile upgrade from Vario II to Vario III!
Go here, http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/24_months select the online 30, change the bolt on, and select the Orbit 2 in the phone section.
I got mine from expansys - awesome t-mobile deal. Phone was free on a web n walk package giving me unlimited data use on an 18mth contract, £35 a month. I think they have started charging for this package now though. Much better than O2 as you get the proper HTC model and not the poxy O2 casing
wow thats expensive
O2 gave me the Orbit 2 free,
600 mins
1500 txts
unlimited data bolt on
for just £20 a month

I think you have to be in some secret society - everyone seems to get fantastic deals, but won't say how!
they call this society ''select customers'' on o2 this deal was presented through upgrade retentions team and being o2 customer for years .so therefore is not available to new customer but will be once completed contract terms

I spent 31/2 yrs. there in the 80s and at that time it took 6mos. to get a land line. Now cell phones are very popular but i don't know of a provider. Sorry!
Hi!
For low cost you have several... I used www.rede4.pt for a couple of years and it has a good quality/cost ratio.
You also have other similar low cost networks like www.uzo.pt or www.vodafonedirecto.com/ but I think Rede4 is the best.
You can buy a rede4 card ready to use on any Supermarket (Continente and Modelo), Post Offices, Petrol Stations (Repsol, Total and Cepsa) and in some Kiosks, Stationery/Tobacco Shops.
Rede4 Fees:
If you charge your rede4 card 15€ or more per month:
0,1219 € / min for any network
0,06 € / SMS
If you Charge your card with less then 15 €:
0,1619 € / min for any network
0,08 € / SMS
DATA fees: you have several options.... But I'll post just one of them:
5€ / 250 Mb - (one week use)
Good luck
Really thinking about doing this.
I got wifi at home, I can bring a router and get wifi at work.
Simple Mobile Plan:
750 mb of data at tmobile 4G speeds for one month
no contract
25 bucks a month
http://www.mysimplemobile.com/plans-wireless-broadband-plans.aspx
Once the tmobile samsung galaxy note comes out in june/july Ill buy it straight out, get it unlocked from tmobile then stop my monthly plan of about 55-65 bucks a month (wife and i spend 110-120 total).
This should all be possible correct? I know simple mobile doesnt want me to put a data only plan on a phone but if i bring in a tablet to set it all up then switch then sim card over I dont think i should have any problems.
That's a good idea with the tablet trick
Hi guys, I have a pay monthly sim which is from T-mobile and it will end in 4 Months and i am waiting for Samsung s4 release. Basically which network provider is better? I want to swap to Three because they have cheap and good plan for the S4.. What is your experience with this network provider? Do they have fast internet? are they better than T-mobile?
Hello
I am in the same situation. My contract runs out in 6 months, but i want the S4 as i do not like my One X. However to upgrade to EE will cost me £220 when you take into account the discounted termination fee and £100 for the phone. If i cancel and go to three i will only pay the early termination fee of £180.
I can sell my current phone for £140 and get £58 cash back. What is appealing about Three is that they offer unlimited internet for £1 less per month than EE.

I have sim only deal from T-mobile and it's pretty good deal but i want to jump to Three because they offer cheap Samsung S4 Deals. Also on their website it says they're the best network for internetting,
Was in the same situation here, opted to stay with T-Mobile.
Three are getting 4G at the end of the year which will be FREE so that's why I was looking at them, they have good 24-month deals also!
However, decided to stay with T-Mobile (3G only) as I usually always have a WiFi connection and 3G speeds for me are not too bad. The deal I got with T-Mobile was great too, found it on www.chitterchatter.co.uk and it totals to just £658 over the 18 month period! (300 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB internet - £31p/m. £149 phone but £50 cashback)
Check out that site if you're interested in T-Mobile contracts, the S4 deals are only staying like that during the pre-order period then they will up the prices once the phone is actually out. Sadly the £50 cashback has expired but I believe the £40 cashback for ordering off ChitterChatter is still valid - check QuidCo!
I have gone for Three. £35 a month with a free phone, unlimited data. I am not fussed about having 4g now, end of year will be fine.

In terms of pricing, Three are probably better value though their service isn't bad by any means at all. Their internet speeds are pretty good and with free 4G in the works they'll probably keep improving and growing.
I've also gotten to know a few contacts from there so if anyone is looking for a deal just give me a message and I'll get them to contact you! :good:
The popular one people have been going for is the £35 a month plan with no upfront cost but my contact can give £30 credit and 2000 3-to-3 minutes in addition to this. Other phones available too...
I was going for the Xperia Z but I think I'll get the S4 now...
Three have been a very good network for me.
I have a one x currently
I have been with 02 orange and Vodafone before settling with 3.
I live in Kingston upon hull and with the other 3 providers i have never had download speeds over 0.5mbps
With three I generally always get >7mbps which was comparable to my home broadband speed until recently getting 200mb fibre.
I can't fault three at all
And with the upcoming free 4g it just keeps getting better
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
3UK The ONE Plan FTW! Very fast and truly unlimited internet (including tethering), plenty of minutes and texts, upcoming LTE in same price..... can't go wrong with it....
I'm moving my second contract from Orange to Three in June, getting S4 but keeping my S3 LTE as well
It depends on your location, signal is never great everywhere on any network so I'd suggest asking around or going into shops and testing.
Here in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes the signal is better than any other network and my Download speeds are better than EE's that my friend has at work.

What is the current stance on Tmobile/Orange/EE in terms of getting deals from other sellers. Last time I checked (this was around 2011) T mobile capped people's internet bandwidth if they had gotten their contracts from places other than directly from T-mobile. It was this that pushed me to Three (Got a Galaxy S2 with the One Plan for £27 a month ) thanks to buymobilephones.net.
Hi Guys,
No matter which network you decide to go to, just haggle on the price with them.
I got 2 contracts in February from vodafone, i got a lumia 920 free on £27 and the iphone 5 32gb on a £27pm contract. The iphone did cost 150£.
The price of the phone will not change but you can really haggle the price of the contract down.
Three are quite good a dropping their prices, and if you cannot get a deal over the phone try call again another time.
Also orange/tmobile will be merging their masts in the near future, and they are the most complained about networks.
was due for an upgrade got s4 for 34pound a month

Took an early upgrade to a HTC One with 3 two weeks ago in store, but it doesn't like to work for more than 10 minutes at a time with my Parrot kit so had a word with the manager and explained about myself working away. He had a look at mine and my partners accounts and has offered us an S4 in which ever colour I want to pick up two weeks on Saturday. Mint.
Oh and at the moment in sunny Middlesbrough I get on average 13-18meg download and 3meg upload when I do tests.
