[Q] Think I lost my IMEI--Only have qcn file - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I lost the ability to send text messages and make/receive phone calls (but data is fine-email, web, etc) after flashing LiquidSmooth RC9(first I didnt have wireless-rebooted and had wireless and then lost my mobile) from CleanRom 5.0--I'm assuming I lost my IMEI. I tried using the IMEI repair tool but when I select the COM port my phone is on and press "Connect", the program locks up and I get a "Not Responding." I tried the tool on three different Windows computers. I do have a backup of a .qcn file(at the time that was the only method mentioned here).
Should I be good to go if I use the QPST method? Or should I go back to stock and unrooted and ask Verizon for a new SIM card?
Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. And yes I have searching through the forum help/answers but I dont know why the tool is not responding. In the video it connects instantaneously...

[Q] Nexus 5 Possible EFS issue, IMEI already repaired

First post, long time lurker, so i'll start with a big thanks to the entire community for all the help you've unknowingly given me.
I just got a nexus 5 to replace my original n5 which has a broken screen. I took a backup of the original and restored it to the new one. Unfortunately i didn't know what EFS was, so i restored the old EFS to the new phone. IMEI went to zero. HUGE BUMMER.
I was able to fix the IMEI with QPST, but the new phone will not connect to the network. I've run a check on the IMEI and it is not blacklisted. Without incriminating myself, lets just say that i'm positive that the new IMEI is good.
The phone recognizes that i've inserted a SIM but shows no signal. I've tried to search for networks, i've checked the APN settings...
I REALLY don't want to send this to LG since they can't give me a price or even a ballpark figure without me shipping them the phone...
Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated.
What should i try next?!
flash the factory img and do not restore your efs on it.

I guess i should have mentioned that i've flashed factory also. Currently the phone is on the latest firmware, unrooted, locked bootloader. Flashing factory had no effect at any point.
I bought this phone on Swappa BTW, so i am assuming there are no hardware issues. I'm not at all certain what else may have been screwed up by having another phone's EFS restored over this "new" phone's EFS...
More Info
I am able to attempt to manually select the network. When i search for networks, the available networks are shown, but when i try to connect it shows the Registering dialog for quite a while, then fails. This is the same behavior as a working phone without a SIM installed. The odd part is that the phone will recognize when a SIM is installed or removed. It seems that my problem may be that the SIM is not being read properly or the data is being lost/corrupted between SIM and antenna. Is this possible? Is this EFS corruption? is this something i can fix? Please help.
Bump?

[Q] How to restore MIN, PRL, MEID, & network info?

I have a boost moto G XT1031 flashed to Verizon XT1028. I upgrade the bootloader to 41.19 and flashed CM12.1. Everything was fine except that I couldn't make outbound calls. After reading a post about someone with similar situation, I flashed KK 4.4.4 radio XT1028_Verizon_US_CDMA_390.81.01P.zip. But after that all my information under SIM Status and IMEI Info were lost. Now it just says NO SIM Card.
How do I restore it? I have tried to use DFS but after CM12.1 was installed the PC won't install COM ports for the phone so it can't be recognized by DFS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
UPDATE: I managed to install stock KK 4.4.4 and now I am back to be able to receive calls, but not making outbound calls. Also, I can now connect to it using DFS. But I have no idea what to change in DFS. My phone #, MIN, MEID are back, but my PRL is wrong. It's 61010 but I think it's supposed to be 5xxxx something. Also, Network is Unknown and Mobile network type is Unknown. When I dial *228 it says "the number or code you dial is incorrect, please check the code and try again."
Since now I can use DFS, what can I do to make it work on Verizon/PagePlus again?
Thank you.

byrneout420, if you are still having the same problem, this is how I got mine working again. I have another Moto G so I use DFS to save its PRL file to the hard drive, then connect the broken Moto G, and load that PRL file to it. After that I was able to do *228 to restore phone function. Eventually I got CM 12.1 installed and everything works including 3G. During the process, I made MIN, PRL, MEID, etc. disappear again several times, but I never went back to DFS. I just reflash the radio zip, and flashed it several times in a row - I saw this on the forum where someone mentioned to flash the radio zip several times to make it work.
Hope this helps.

Need qcn backup. Please I am desperated.

Hello, I was installing a rom xiaomi.eu to my new mi4c as it came with a ROM 77 loaded with a lot of bloatware. The phone bricked while installing it and couldn't even start in fastboot mode. Luckily with a tutorial I could recover. The problem is that the IMEI got erased. And the phone had no signal and couldn't detect SIM.
I a tutorial in order to repair it with the QUALCOMM QPST TOOL the problem comes when trying to read the xiaomi with the RF Manager NV only has 4 NV files, not even the IMEI or anything.
Creating IMEI I could get the phone to read SIM, and to show IMEI when typing *#06#. But no signal.
Therefore the only solution I can think of and that saves my phone is that if someone is kind enough to make a .qcn backup of his Mi4c and share with me to restore my Mi4c (obviously would put my IMEI to it so no worries) so the phone can work normally again with signal and so...Thanks a lot, I need your help.

Unable to connect to mobile networks

Greetings, I have created an account in order to seek help directly.
I received a LG P920 phone already rooted on ICS 4.0.4
At this time mobile networks worked and the phone was able to make calls and such. I did a factory reset which led to a recovery-loop so I followed this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228269
I then obtained CWM 6 using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2144738
And finally decided to flash Cyanogenmod 11 unofficial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-3d/development/rom-t2929971
It was at this point that I realized I couldn't connect to networks at all, thinking maybe the ROM was faulty I went for the official CM10 rom (the last nightly available on cyanogenmod), but that did not work either. Tried returning to ICS (v30a) but I couldn't connect to networks.
I've searched a lot of guides to recovering mobile networks but the catch is that most of them talk of lost IMEI numbers, which my phone hasn't lost. I looked into using LG flashtool aswell but all links are broken, be it for the software, the crack or the dll I need to have.
I'm at a loss right now, most of the guides I've seen here are for different purposes other than just getting the mobile networks going.
The SIM card works on another phone. Also, when trying to enter the password it will at times accept anything or not accept anything at all, even if it's the right code. If I search networks, they will be found but I'll just get 'Can't connect to this network right now'
My Baseband reads LGP920AT-00-V30a-EUR-XXX-APR-04-2013 and I'm currently on CM10
update: I have been informed by the previous owner that this phone hasn't been SIM unlocked, which is probably the problem here. Obviously this wasn't going to be so easy as I obtained the code and attempted to unlock it, but for some reason the process was unsuccessful. guess I'm still lost
Thanks in advance

[Completed] Have signal but not registered on network

I have Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300. When the google drive app was downloading from google play, my phone went off due to poor battery. Later when I tried to turn it ON, it has been getting stuck in the boot. So I decided to reinstall my custom ROM. Being busy with my baby, toddler, household chores and job, I gave it to my brother to flash the ROM. After a while, I noticed that my sim was bricked.
It says "Emergency Calls Only", has fake IMEI but working signal.
We did not backup the efs. I tried searching all the methods like modem installation, CSC, baseband verions, IMEI re-write, Kies Upgrade and Initialization, other people's efs restore, etc. But the problem is unchanged. Some of the followed method might have failed for not having proper knowledge like IMEI re-write tool works on specified chipset, etc.
What we noticed is that using different baseband version toggles from having network signal or no signal.
Kies shows more than four firmware versions and no other details like CSC, etc.
How do I clean up all these especially to have SIM working on my phone?
I appreciate you assistance to be brief and clear to understand steps than sending links. Because my time is stress-fully short.
Hi !
There is some confusing info in your post
What do you mean with it has fake IMEI " ? Have you changed it ?
You say that you have a working SIM on certain basebands , is this happening on a custom rom or stock ?
Have you tried to flash a stock firmware as I see that you tried to flash "your custom rom " ?
Cheers !
First of all, thank you for your response and interest to assist.
My mobile's IMEI is shown as 004999010640000 which is not original. Can you help me to change it to correct IMEI suitable for my Samsung S3 GT-i9300 chipset, if that helps in enabling sim to connect to a network? I think changing method only masks the IMEI?
I have tried flashing stock firmware and also Kies Upgrade and Initialization.
I have also changed baseband version installation on stock ROM too. I don't know which baseband is correct to keep.. for my country India or in the country where my mobile is manufactured, incase that's locking sim accessibility? Some baseband bought signal and detected the network operator name, but the message still says "Emergency Calls Only" and is unable to connect to a network.
I presume this problem arose when installing custom ROM from TWRP recovery and it messed up with efs partition?
I had successfully flashed custom ROM many times before without this problem. I think there's some next step to follow to bring back the working sim like I heard of installing modem. I did just try installing modem but same problem as my baseband is already bringing signal.
I had tested my phone from sim unlock app and found out that CSC is locked and it limited specified MCC and MNC numbers. Is this hindering connection to Indian mobile network? Or corrupt efs? Or missed to manually install something?
Bump.
