Simply put, I flashed system over my boot partition. I can boot in Fastboot and APX. I dont have the option to go into recovery anymore and I used to have three selection in the boot menu, now I have two, wipe data and fastboot (USB icon). Could I recover my unbrickable TF300T?
I have my unbrickable files
I flashed TWRP
I made a backup in that
System was good
I extracted CM10
I typed: "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system boot.blob" from the CM10 files
The tablet was stuck on the AndroidRoot screen
I restarted the tab with vol down and power
I entered TWRP
I restored my backup
I played with the tab
I tried installing CM10 again
I connected with the Fastboot protocol
I typed: "fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash boot boot.blob"
On restart, when I press down arrow + power, I immediately goes into Fastboot USB download protocol. I cant even get the system to show me the RCK screen, which would allow me into TWRP. I can only immediately go into fastboot mode, restart in APX mode, or restart the tab and stare at the AndroidRoot 9.4.3.30r01 with the ASUS logo in the middle.
So what is this, a soft brick? and more importantly, how can I restore my system with nvflash? Is this the way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757077 ???
And yes, I am very new to this. I took my time pouring over every instruction and document except on how to get CM10 running, I guess you cant just "wing" it.
I will be running this command tomorrow:
nvflash --bct create.bct --setbct --bl blob.bin --configfile factory-config.img --create --verifypart -1 –go
Is this the proper syntax for restoration using the unbrickable nvflash files? I want to restore my partitions, will this do it? Please, if you have tried this command, let me know how it turned out for you, Thank you.

So I just bought this tab. And stupidly upgraded to JB right away (not a big fan with first impression) and was following the 3 step guide for recovery and root on JB. Starting on step 3
When I reboot into bootloader from advanced, or manually (power + V down, then V down to navigate to USB sign, V Up to confirm (already unlocked bootloader of cource)
In the top left corner where the words are, the last line says "starting fastboot mode" or something like that, but nothing just stuck in the bootloader screen with 4 options RCK, ANDROID, FASTBOOT, AND WIPE DATA. Untilled I hold power to reboot.
Tried several times. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
you are doing everything fine....
It just stays there when "starting fastboot mode" appears!
Now you can open a terminal on your pc.
When you enter "fastboot devices" (without quotes), a number will appear so you know the device will be recognized when you want to flash recovery. Just like "adb devices".
Do you have to enter fastboot devices first to flash recovery threw adb?
Cause last night after it said starting fastboot (when I thought it was stuck)
I extracted the twrp Jb recovery from same post. To the same folder as adb.exe and fastboot.exe (named the folder fastboot on the C drive) shift + right click on fastboot folder - open in command prompt
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery tf300t-jb.blob
The responded was like can't complete command. File or folder doesn't exist (or something like that, will try again when I get home with the exact response)
And tried extract to a folder named, recovery1 on my c drive
C:\recovery1: fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery tf300t-jb.blob
Still with the same response
Thank you for the help

Hi all.
Im having some problems with this, and was hoping that some one here could help me.
I have unlocked my device, no problems.
Then i have installed CWM, no problems.
Now here my problems begin... I have copied a custom ROM zip file, onto my tablet. When i boot my tablet into CWM i get some errors in the bottom of the screen looking like this:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Now when i choose to "- Install zip from sdcard" and after that i choose "- Choose zip file from sdcard" i get this error: E:Can't mount /sdcard/
Then i try to select the "- Choose zip from internal storage" but then i get this error: E:Can't mount /emmc/
Basicly i cant do anything at all in CWM without getting errors, cant even whipe the cache or anything.
Can someone help me to find out what to do now. And hopefully how to solve this?
I can boot into my androind system without any problems.
Hope some one know's what to do. Thank you in advance.
Info:
TF300T

If there is anything else you need to know to be able to help me, please ask.
Have a good day.
CWM doesnt work with the 4.2 bootloader from ASUS. Only TWRP for bootloader 4.2 seems to work. You will have to flash TWRP 2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2. Take note you need the TWRP version with the "-4.2" at the end. Flashing the incorrect TWRP version can brick your tablet.
Download http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/tf300t/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2.blob.
Reboot tablet and hold volume down button while it's powering up to enter fastboot mode. Do not select any of the 3 icons (RCK, Android logo, Wipe Data) on tablet. Connect tablet to PC via USB cable.
On Windows PC, cmd window type:
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2.blob.
On tablet, wait until blue progress bar completely fills up.
On Windows PC, cmd window type:
fastboot reboot
That should replace your CWM with TWRP.
Hello ImmovableObject.
Thank you very much for you reply, that was excatly what was wrong.. Stupid me, not checking up on that. I actually flashed another version of TWRP, so i guess i was extreemly lucky that it did not brick my tablet.
But after i flashed the right TWRP its all good, everything is working as intented, and i can make backups and flash custom roms now. Thank you very much for your help
Have a good day all.

You are very much welcomed! I'm glad it worked for you.
I found this useful when I was struggling with CWM as well, very glad I was careful to pick the 4.2 blob
Thanks for the help!
Holy Crap!
I can't believe how stupid I was! I ahve always despised CWM yet I was using it on my TF300T. After searching and searching for a fix I came onto this. Great job man!
THANK YOU FOR THIS!! I too stumbled around with CM Recovery for about 30 minutes, dumbfounded by the fact that it couldn't mount either the internal or external storage. I did some research and that's when I came across this post. I can't believe they don't make any mention in any of the tutorials that CM Recovery won't work with the newest 4.2 bootloader from Asus.
Your method did not work with my TF300T, Please assist
@ImmovableObject , I've tried your method but for some reason my Tablet did not reboot with the command "Fastboot reboot" and i still get CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.3 for recovery instead of TWRP. it did say the flash was OKAY.
Please Please help

That's strange.
Was your tablet running Android 4.2?
Try waiting a little longer (5 or more seconds) before issuing the "fastboot reboot" after the message that the flash was OKAY.
Things you could also try:
* Update your fastboot.exe to the latest version. You can do this via the Android SDK Manager on your computer. Fastboot is included under "Tools" > "Android SDK Platform-tools."
* Use a different USB cable.
* Connect cable to a different USB port on your computer.

I have the same problem, to actually get back to the bootloader and select RCK or Android do this:
Once CMW is loaded open command and do
adb reboot-bootloader
that also enabled fastboot again but I'm still not able to load TWRP
---------- Post added at 01:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:13 AM ----------
So just like the previous few posts I too installed CWM and I can't reflash TWRP.
Here's the output from the console:
D:\Android SDK\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery openrecovery
-twrp-2.5.0.0-tf300t-4.2.blob
sending 'recovery' (6448 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.699s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 2.254s]
finished. total time: 4.955s
D:\Android SDK\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
D:\Android SDK\sdk\platform-tools>
Device is unresponsive to any commands and must be rebooted manually. Once I reboot the device loads to the CWM Recovery unless I run "adb reboot-bootloader" and then I can choose to boot the ROM. So at least it's not bricked.
Fix
Found this posted by buster.
So if you're TF300T is booting directly to recovery and you can't get to fastboot do what I post above:
1. Let recovery load
2. With recovery loaded you can now use adb. enter: adb reboot-bootloader
3. You should now be at the bootloader screen (RCK, Android, Wipe screen). Do this:

Here how i restored my TF300T JB
download your appropriate lates firmware from Asus (WW, US etc.) and extract the zip twice so you have your blob file
install your device drivers if needed (i used Google SDK ones) (and as a Tip Win8 sucks for Fastboot stuff so try to get Win7 Vista XP for this)
Reset your device with a paperclip/needle (about 2 cm down of your sdcard slot) and hold vol-down to enter fastboot
(the folowing i did at least 10 times already but didn't erase misc)
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase system
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase recovery
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase userdata
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase boot
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase misc
fastboot -i 0x0B05 erase cache
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system c:\adb\TF300t\blob (this is my path - your's may vary depending where you stored your blob) ((also this was the first time i saw the loading bar while flashing)*
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
* it also took a lot longer as it should:
C:\>fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system c:\adb\TF300t\blob
erasing 'system'...
OKAY [ 1.695s]
sending 'system' (800935 KB)...
OKAY [133.121s]
writing 'system'...
OKAY [153.973s]
finished. total time: 288.789s
im now setting my tab up to get back to CM (which initially caused this sh1theap due to autoupdate error, same as my A700 got bricked )
hope i could help you out!

help!
right guys, I'm completely green when it comes to stuff like this so apologies if my questions are too daft.
I tried to root my tablet and forgot to back it up, tired few things I found online and got myself in a position where I can't use fastboot as my tablet is taking me to CWM recovery straight away and holding volume key and power makes no difference... any ideas? apart from throwing my table in a bin?
Hi all,
I've flashed CWM 6.0.2.3 instead of TWRP 2.5 to recovery partition after having unlocked the ASUS JB 4.2 bootloader using ASUS unlock tool V8. After that ASUS JB 4.2 was running well but not with root access AND i did the big mistake to use the wipe function in the bootloader ... since then i'm stuck in a boot loop with access only to CWM but i can't mount anything (internal or external sdcard) ! The good news is that i have still adb access under recovery => i run 'sudo adb reboot-bootloader' to access the bootloader menu which also provides me fastboot access ... the problem is than when i run 'sudo fastboot -w' in order to perform a wipe, the linux command hangs the tf300t after having erased and formatted the userdata partition (first one in the wipe process) !!!
Also, flashing system or recovery using fastboot works but i don't have the blue progress bar during the operation and the 'sudo fastboot reboot' command hangs the device ... for example if i run 'sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp.blob (i use the 42 version not JB or ICS one) i have a successfull output BUT fastboot is unable to reboot my device and when rebooted after pressing the power button for 8 secs i am back in CWM 6.0.2.3
I've noticed this output when booting the tablet to the bootloader menu : 'key driver not found booting os' and i've no clue about the meaning of this message => it seems that if i successfully flash TWRP this message will disappear ...
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Have a nice day

I can't think of any particular posts, but I've seen this scenario around in these forums before. Have a search around.
Hello everybody,
I have a tf300t that I was in the process of unlocking and flashing a new recovery and rom to. Needless to say something went wrong and I had to follow the NVFLASH guide to get the tablet back up and operating. It will start ICS just fine and let me access ADB and I also have access through APX. I do not however have the option when I hold volume down to choose to boot to recovery or fastboot modes. If I hold the volume down button during startup it only says COLD BOOTING LINUX.
During the NVFLASH I installed the blob file for TWRP ICS version 2.5.0.0. I know the recovery is working because if i go into the settings and choose to factory restart the device it will reboot into TWRP and automatically do its thing factory resetting and then the tablet will reboot to a fresh ICS asking me to input my wireless settings and account. Also if I put a stock firmware file from asus on the device it will notice it and tell me there is a update for the device if i want to install. If I say yes it will restart the tablet into TWRP and install the rom automatically. However on reboot the rom fails to start and I have to do the NVFLASH process to get it back to ICS.
Through ADB I used the adb reboot recovery command but it reboots the tablet and never enters TWRP just strait to ICS android, and the same goes for adb reboot bootloader or adb reboot-bootloader. If somebody can help me boot directory to TWRP recovery so I can try to wipe the device and install a custom rom I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!

You have to reboot after the initial nvflash first. Your partitions are laid out different in 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 so flashing the twrp blob right after your nv restore likely put things in incorrect spots.
Id redo the nvflash, boot it up, set things up properly, THEN reboot to bootloader, reflash recovery using fastboot. That should fix you right up.

These are the commands I used to for NVFLASH posted by tobdaryl. He has you install the twrp recovery image in the 2nd to last command. I also believe I tried flashing the blob.sos as he said this was the stock recovery but that didn't get my bootloader options back either. Is there a command I should be doing different?
wheelie -r --blob blob.bin -created with Nvflash install
nvflash --resume --download 4 blob.EBT -created with blobunpack
nvflash --resume --download 10 blob.APP – created with blobunpack

Well, he would be the Nvflash expert it seems......
What happens when you only run the first command ? Thats what flashed the bootloader.... Also... you dont type the " -created with blobunpack" part. It should look like this :
nvflash --resume --download 4 blob.EBT
nvflash --resume --download 10 blob.APP
nvflash --resume --download 6 blob.LNX
nvflash --resume --download 5 recovery.img
nvflash --resume --go
then press volume down to enter
The recovery.img would be the twrp / cwm img file

Yes i ran the instructions without the -created by... and they all ran successfully. I tried only writing the first command and it wrote successfully, however there still is no choices when I hold volume down on the tablet and power on, it go's strait to cold boot Linux.
For the heck of it I downloaded a custom ICS rom renamed it to something a stock asus firmware would have and threw it on the tablet. It found the file and asked to update. I let it update which it restarts goes into the TWRP 2.5.0.0 recovery and flashes the file and reboots to the custom ICS rom. So for now the tablet will allow me to install zips if i rename them to a firmware that asus would use.
What I think I'm going to do next is download a 4.2 bootloader & Rom zip file and rename it to a asus stock rom file. Hopefully it reboots to recovery installs it and when it reboots after that have a 4.2 bootloader that works and a 4.2 recovery that allows me to install a custom rom. Fingers crossed!

since 4.2 rewrites partitions completely, it should work. My fingers are crossed for ya too ! let us know
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
My TF300T can be brought back to life by:
APX mode
Wheelie
Nvf restore of original files
Nvf blob restore
Reboot
Goes to fastboot
Follow fastboot wipe sequence
Try to push blob (will fail for size error)
Restart
Back to APX
Wheelie
Nvflash files again with stock recovery (won't work with custom)
Boots into android like a fresh tablet
Any attempt to get to recovery gives dead android.
At the same point, any attempt to fastboot flash a recovery fails.
Any ideas how to get recovery back so I can get back to customizing?
Anyone willing to use NVF to pull a stock ICS partition table and rawread all their partitions just to see if I can manhandle it all back into place with NVF?
TIA,
Dean

For new recovery, did you try
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 erase recovery [enter]
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery /path/to/recovery.img [enter]
fastboot -i 0x0b05 reboot [enter]
I tried that to flash a recovery in fastboot. I got no error, but any attempt to enter recovery will either lock the tablet in the case of TWRP (tried many versions. focused on 2.5.5.0), or the dead android in the case of stock recovery. I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with my recovery partition. I'm also concerned with the size error failure if I try to flash a system blob from fastboot.
