[ROM][WIP]AOSP 4.2 builds for tf101 build 2 - Eee Pad Transformer Android Development

So I got my aospjb to work... so:
What works:
boots
audio
launcher
basically everything else that works on rayman's except for camera
what doesnt work:
same as raymans
installation instructions:
flash the rom and gapps
flash super su found at goo.im
if it doesnt get past the boot animation for a long time, hold down the power button to force shutdown and do the boot to recovery key combo.
that will make it boot
changelog:
b2:
stuff from rayman
supersu
dl:
b1: http://d-h.st/7Yh
b2: NO WORKS
gapps:
http://goo.im/devs/RaymanFX/downloads/Gapps/4.2_gapps-jb-20121119.zip

Thanks!!! I'll give it a try.

updated post

Installed and booted fine! One issue I had was i couldn't install su apps so I couldn't recover my app backups. There's probably another way, but I'm sorta stuck in my ways. Tried supersu and superuser. Neither seemed to be able to get root. So I went back to my old install.
Edit: sorry, you said flash, not install from play store. Will try again!

As this is AOSP you probably need to flash the superSU zip. I think it is in RaymanFX AOSP jellybean thread.

Good Job!
Build 2 doesnt work. It also appears to have created /sdcard/0/0. Instead of just 1 zero.
Edit: Flashed again, made /sdcard/0/0/0.

That happend to me on RaimanFX's build too, with all version. Just move all data from /sdcard/0/0/0 to /sdcard/0/ and that's all but, everytime you reflash a 4.2.1 ROM (This or RaimanFX's ROM), wil create another zero, I'm in the fourth zero! /sdcard/0/0/0/0 XD

@cpu999
I flashed B1 and it's working smoothly but, when I create another user, all system started to be more and more slow and I have been forced to reboot the TF101. For been a beta, it's a very nice ROM (I'm writing this posts from your ROM) but I think it has to improve more to name it as stable.
Thanks for your hard work CPU999 & RaimanFX!

Urko

hi.
may i please know what extra changes that have been done? im interested to see how you were able to make things (GFX smoothness) on par with 4.1 (is it on par with 4.1?).
thx.
please PM me if you would like to keep unfinished work private for the interim.
thx.

Thanks for all the hard work dev, but unfortunately it does not run as smooth as 4.1
H/W acceleration still needs work. continue to keep the good work up. as of now I will revert back to 4.1 EOS

ClockworkMod-Recovery v6(Alpha)

The recovery builder is now building version 6 of the recovery. The main changes are as follows:
Backups are much faster. 4-5x faster. (Bug fix due to excessive status updates of the UI and new backup technique)
Incremental backups are smaller. Way way smaller. Only 15-20MB each for each additional backup of a ROM. This is done using a new tool I wrote to dedupe the files between incremental backups to eliminate duplicates.
Here's a test build for maguro (Galaxy Nexus GSM):
http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/maguro-test-recovery.img
And the builder site:
http://builder.clockworkmod.com
Still in alpha, please test.

I made a build for defy(as attachment in this post).
It seems you have to press both vol up/down at the same time once so it says "Back menu button enabled".
Before you do that, the power-button will just show/hide the menu.

Thanks for this, I ran out of thanks today.
Edit: U need to press the home button continously untill a msg comes "back menu button enabled". The power button for selection can work only after this.
I tried to restore with this recovery but it gave me error saying, "unable to format /data". Can somebody else test it. Maybe bcoz the recovery is still in alpha.
Great job ... i make a lot of backups while testing n jumping frm one rom to the next ... increased speeds are always welcome ....

Flashed it twice, still no luck
Does this ROM play well with kernals other than the stock kernal? ie: Motleys Kernal
I'm getting ~14 KB/s. Mirror please?
Also having problems booting here too. Stuck at Google screen after a full wipe coming from jr6.

as far as mods go, this is from the stock firmware so any mods that are being made for the new nexus 7 should work fine (for example the advanced power menu that i added). that goes for kernels too, those are device specific, not rom specific

Xposed works on 4.3. You have to install 2.1.4 then flash a zip in recovery.
I'm not sure if you just missed them or what, but some of the Google apps you said you had removed are still in the zip. Currents, Earth, Ears, Games, and then I stopped looking. It's not a big deal, I'm removing them from the downloaded zip, but I wanted to let you know!

well this is based on the released firmware, if there is a patch out there for that, i will see if i can get it included, otherwise i will wait for the next firmware update which will probably have it in there.
no my next release would be a couple of mods im working on, which in reality can be zip files to flash so you wont need to reinstall or reflash the whole thing, but will also be added to the rom as well for anyone who has not tried this one yet

I have ported roms in the past to Kindle Fire HD from the Nexus tabs. It's way easier to port than to build a rom from scratch. The tricky part is finding the easiest roms to work with.
Well I can't do either.

Well I would think that you would need a working custom recovery with external SD card support first. Though the big feature I am looking forward to is a kernel that supports Roehsoft Ram Expander (swap) which while it works fine on my S3 does not work at all on the Tab 4 7.0.

I resstored the device in odin to the latest factory firmware then flashed the twrp in odin, rebooted directly to recovery and flashed supersu. Rebooted to system, set up all my stuff and flashed the new twrp over the old twrp using rashr. I had to reboot once to set up rashr before i could flash but, it all worked perfectly for me
