I have list of questions on Official CM7.
pl bare with me. and sry fr noobing..
1) i had installed cm7 20121111 release and when i imported the .vcf card frm ma sd card my contacts got duplicated or fourplicated :laugh:
all names are showing 4 tyms. my total contacts mite smethng around 400 - 500 bt now its showing 2363 smthing. i cant even multi select to delete them. WHAT TO DO ?
2) i cant see some icons when installed the apps in app drawer but are visible in task manager,
i was abl to see them when prev flashed the same rom(20121111).
3) phone screen gets awake as i change the volume, how to fix this?cudnt find in settings.
4) preferences are not remembered, i kept always vibrate bt it vibrates some tyms and sme tyms not and when chek in settings it shows only in silent mode..
Pl HELP!!
i had followed this steps to install the rom,pl correct me on this if i've done nething wrong.
wipe data/cache
wipe dalvick cache
flashed the rom
again wiped data/cache
installed gapps
then rebooted.

1) I got this problem too, just deactivate syncronization befone input vcf. and before make a google account,it will import your contacts from your google account

sry dude bt can u pls elaborate a more..
wat i undrstood is before input of vcf deactivate sync and den login in google acc n den it will import the contacts and den aftr this i shuld import the vcf.. rite??
as you are importing the contacts from google as well as from vcf you are getting multiple copies
just sync all contacts to Google and import from google only or disable sync from Google and only keep vcf contacts
any one of them.. I keep all my contacts on Google it is more convinient as we will not lose them ..

I have a lot of contacts on my phone and want them all sync'd with google. Now, I could add them one by one but surely there is a better/faster/more efficient way to do this. I'm about to upgrade my Infused v1 to the new stable Infused v2 and I know I can export them and import them like I have in the past (just by using the built in function) but I would like them in the google format so I can sync them over the air.
Also, once they are in the google format will facebook be able to sync their pic's to the contacts? Cause there are only a handful that sync when I have over 100 that should have pics.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Export all contacts from phone to sd card. Next import from sd card and select google account as target. Finally, go to the contact view settings and show google contacts and uncheck view phone contacts. Done. I am awesome.

I followed these while logged into gmail account and watched my gmail account populate with all my phone contacts. Worked great. In gmail, merged all duplicates and then installed Contacts Optimizer from Google Play. That sorted out some of the dupilcates on my phone. Not perfect, but much better and now my contacts are backed up and I am ready to root... Will be clicking the Thanks for ya.
How to covert sim/phone contacts to google? is there an app that will convet these or do i really have to do all by hand?

You can go to phone> contacts> hit menu key and there is an import/export option. You can import or export all your contacts to google at once.
Also in the menu options under more> settings> you can set your phone so that all new contacts will go straight to google.

i only have the option to export to sim or sd card
That is weird. You should also have options to import/export FROM Sim and sdcard.
What ROM are you on...maybe you got a bad download.

I have a thought..
Go to phone > contacts > menu > more > settings > Save new Contacts to. Then set google as your place to have your new contacts saved to.
When you are finished doing that reboot your phone. Then go back and see what your import/export options are. Hopefully you will now have the options to import/export FROM sdcard and Sim
**ALSO** In our phones main SETTINGS menu go to Accounts and sync then > Manage accounts > press the gmail account you want synced (make sure sync is ON). Make sure Sync contacts is checked. That will get you synced with google.

The Accounts and Sync will do it for you. As Jerry D said I have also set the phone to save new contacts to google by default. Makes flashing new ROMs so much less of hassle, plus you can always access your contacts from wherever you can get online.

Export a vcf file to ur SD card, then re-import it to google contacts.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure u disable facebook n' Twitter contacts syncing before exporting, otherwise when u resync to ur google contacts u will get duplicated contacts for both social networks.. At least that's what i remember out of my experience... also, should u wipe ur contacts after exporting ur list? (So u only see one cope of'em from google)
Bonus: If u use Go Contacts it can batch identify duplicated/related contacts and merge/delete them if needed.

OR
find an app on google play with feature to provide more contact space!

Each time you add a new contact.. It asks whether to add it to phone/sim/Gmail
If not, enable this in account settings
Then u save contacts to Gmail but u will have to keep sync on which requires internet..
I guess sim also provides atleast 100-150 contact space..

U are on Android?
If yes it should appear.. Try turning sync on in account and sync in setting menu..
If u are not on Android.. I can't help u more!

thats first time i hv ever heard of it, hv tried almost all cm7/9 roms here, never happened to me ..

You may have auto-sync enabled which inturn sync you contacts from gmail so it gets doubled.
Disable autosync. You will be good to go.

IT happens when u sync contacts and at the same time restore from SDcard or from sim card..delete sim and sdcard contacts and duplicate contacts as well. Then sync to google. Good to go.

I did what you said but still easily pulled by the same 30 numbers with a google account ....
Just export all your contacts and import the file in Google contacts
In Google contacts , delete duplicates and unwanted numbers and again export them as a csv file
Don't do both importing contacts from csv file + Google sync which will cause them to appear twice

Fixed! Thanks bro!
I lost half of my contacts even more.. I have 1458 contacts synchronyze with Gmail now i have 158... I tray delete account and synchronyze again but my contacts are no showing all.. I try with fix and there is all my contacts but in app still missing... HELP

Hmmm...open you gmail and check your contact...if you sync it correctly then in gmail they should be 1458 contact...if not then whatever contact you have in gmail will be sync in your phone...
try opening contact/option/contact to display...make sure to select all contact option....

well then, if you always sync but suddenly its now working any more then just clear data on contact and contact storage...reboot then try to sync again...if its still doesn't work then using gmail export you contact to your pc (use vcard format) then transfer the vcard to your phone and import all vcard to you contact...
