I have a 16gb note 10.1 and i want to install all my apps on the memory card. I happen to come across the app2sd script and while reading it I found that it is better than any app. My question is, do I need to be rooted for this? Also, Is there a newbie proof way of doing this?

Hi,
I wanted to know more about this, apparently it helps to stabilize the phone and doesn't affect performance that much on a level 6+ card and I have a 32 gigs level 10 sdcard.
Do I simply have to create a dalvik-cache folder at the root of my ext3 partition or is there a script to run so that the OS knows where to link?
Finally, might be a stupid question, say I'd like to restore the miuixt_final_v2 again on my phone, can I just do the same procedure again over the same rom version?
I can't install apps that aren't from android market and it working at first and I just can't figure why, so I was tempted to just restore the whole thing and start fresh.
I'd ask in the dev thread but I can't post there until I have 10 posts...
Thanks!!
For those newbie like me wondering, I used link2sd and I manage the dalvik-cache by applications now, works like a charm. I prefer it over app2ext because I can control what is going on even if it implies managing every application instead of having a background process doing it for you.
Hi, first of all, i have no intention of posting useless repeated stuff, and i am no dumb teenager, i have a Jailbroken iPod completely modified which was easy but i'm totally new to android, please excuse my "stupid" question but i am really lost and can't seem to find a guide to tell me the steps to follow now. and this is making me have a really bad time, i am having a headache and been trying to avoid to post but i don't know what else to do.
1-. I just got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7'' (GT-P3110)
2-. Last night i just ROOT'ed it (currently running JellyBean 4.1.1) (followinf a youtoube video tutorial)
My questions are:
- What should i do first? i see people talking about "backing-up" before doing anything, how do i backup? i just read terms like "flashing", "clockwork" and other stuff but just can't find proper definitions everywhere.
i am trying to solve the famous storage problem (8gb tablet with 32gb microSD external)
- must i Format to FAT32 and then do a partition? (and what size the partition?), and if i do the partition should i swap internal-external SD? or maybe just swap and no partition? or is it obvious that i must format-do partition-swap?
i really want to make sure not to break this thing (brick it or whatever) so how do i backup the ROM (another term i do not fully understand) or the internal stuff... i don't care about the apps and content on the tablet i just want a backup in case i screw this up.
i've read so may tutorials that i have a lot of apps installed (Link2Sd, Voodoo OTA RootKeeper, SManager ads, ES File Explorer, Astro File Manager, MobileGo, App2SD Pro)
please help me or guide me to the proper way, i really searched the forums but so many terms i do not understand and can't find proper definitions that my head is twisting.
Thanks and please forgive me if i broke any rule. i also searched for the forum rules but couldn't find them, i just saw the video when registering =(.
AW: Lost in the way (noob) Partition? Swap? Backup? Flash?
For backing up your ROM the easy way, install recovery mod from market. From there reboot into recovery. Here you go to backup and restore, backup (either onto ext. Sd or int. Sd), done!
For your sd storage, you can try that:

Hey, this is my first post and I'm REALLY new to this. I can talk iOS and Blackberry all night, but Android is a whole new world, so go easy on me! I have had a Tab 2 P3113 for over a year now, and obviously have run into the issue of not having enough storage space. From my understanding, if you root your tablet, and install Titanium Backup you can move your apps to an ext SD. I did all this, and still am unable to move my apps to the ext SD card. I've managed to move the backup folder to the ext card, but no option even when I long press an app I want to move. Am I missing a step? Or am I just screwed and have to deal with this? Thanks for all your help!

first brother if you are having storage issue on tab uninstall all crappy apps with are pre installed in samsung rom and then wipe cache in recovery and then create an ext partition in recovery and find a kernel which support initd support
flash it and flash cronmod script and have fun

Hi
I wanted to ask something about Rooting but couldn't find specific section for it or if there is, i am sorry i couldn't locate it. I apologize for it.
I have a Huawei Ascend G610-U20 with Android 4.2.1. The internal memory is 4GB but only 1.86GB is useable (on format). I am using Stock ROM.
I have some applications which are installed in phone memory (sdcard 0, not external sdcard). For example Facebook and by default it doesn't have the option of shifting to SD card, that option is turned off. Similarly this is off for Mix Cloud app. There are so many other apps as well. I use Dodol launcher and all it's themes are on phone memory and cannot be migrated to external SD card.
I found this thread of making SD card as default location for installation. I didn't do it being afraid to make any disastrous changes to my phone.
Then i got to know about rooting and i was again afraid of bricking my phone. This is why i am asking it here. I had previously another Android phone and i rooted it and then it started some problems mainly software clashes. e.g. when viber is being used and a phone call comes, phone restarted. I thought of at least considered that time that this is due to rooting.
My sole purpose of doing any of above method is, to be able to migrate those apps to external SD card which are by default not able to be migrated in stock ROM. Else than this i am not much advanced user and nor do i want to go further deeper.
What you recommend and what is the best way to do.
Just a point to mention, in case of using that 1st method of Android ADB method, i think it would need me to format the phone and then reinstall the apps. Am i right?
Please guide me.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
I am running a stock lg g pro 2 d838, and am constantly battling with the onboard storage. Ive got a 128gb memory card, but some apps just cant be moved.
I was wondering if someone were able to provide me with a step by step guide (I dont have any knowledge or experience with this) for the easiest way to be able to use my phones sd card for all apps etc.
Everytime I look at rooting, custom roms guide they appear to be written for those that already know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, why would you want to move all apps to sd card? I am not sure if you can do that.
You properly need root to be able to do it, so you have to root your phone first.
I think you need app on play store to move apps to sd card, you can search for it. I don't have a name of the app but I know there is app for that, it might need need as I said.
