I've been having some issues with GPS working on certain ROMS. I just flashed Jellywiz RLS 13 and everything works except GPS. It won't find my location. I just had Beans 5 and I had no issues with GPS. I had flashed Liquid Smooth earlier today and had the same GPS issues. Wouldn't find my location. Is this a known issue with these ROMS? Is there something wrong with my phone? I have no problem with GPS on stock either.
Any input would be great!
Thanks.
You can try "Faster GPS" from the market. Works good with many custom ROMS.

I currently am running cm7 on my inspire without a problem, gps is great and locks within seconds of launching maps and or navigation. Recently I wished to return to a sense rom, to my surprise any sense rom be it cognition, tpc, etc (i tried almost all of them) renders my gps useless. Not only does it not work but the gps icon doesn't even appear. I'm experienced at flashing roms so I always wipe properly and do not restore anything besides my apps. Any idea why this is happening?

You need to reflash the radio.

I was helping my brother trouble shoot his Inspire's inability to get a GPS fix when using MIUI. He told me he had tried all the driver swaps and other methods that are commonly prescribed, and that nothing had worked. However, in CM7 and sense based ROMs the GPS worked fine.
In EVO circles, this is a common problem on MIUI as well. The work around that has been developed is as follows:
1) Install a [near]stock ROM. Anything sense based should work.
2) Turn on the GPS radio
3) Leave it on, and reflash your favorite ROM (MIUI/CM7/etc)
That should fix it. It worked great on his phone, and he is happily navigating in MIUI with full accuracy and a very short acquisition time.
Enjoy!
sounds more like it was a bad flash or bad agps data left behind. but then i dont use miui. There is a bit more involved with the 'evo gps fix' and you havent done any of that. I havent seen any problems thus far with gps that wasnt fixed with the proper methods for cm. miui has its own set of problems and isnt really supported here.

Well this was the method that worked for his phone, after all the other inspire fixes had failed. He'd flashed, cleared, reflashed, MIUI (various releases) and continued to have the same GPS problem. I figured I'd share in case anyone else was in a similar boat.
Cheers,
Kyle
I have an inspire 4g on Att. running android 4.0.4, redemption 1.1. i have tried all the different gps installs in rom tools for att, generic and stock gps and rebooted after each change. however my phone still will not connect to a gps sat. it will not see any and therefore cannot lock. anyone have any info that may be of any help.
Slow
I'm running Android 4.0.4 with the C&C ICS rom and although my gps works I've noticed that it is very slow when trying to find my location in things such as Maps. Is there something to flash or update to get it working/improve performance?
Either hardware fault or improper aGPS settings.
Hey all - most recently I used Embryo (ICS) and as of yesterday I'm on R4INS' AOKP JB build and with both I've had issues with my GPS. I haven't actually used it successfully with this install yet, but this stretches back even to a few of the more vanilla CM9/AOSP/AOKP ROMs I've tried. I've seen the "aGPS fix" thread which I'll try tomorrow, but has anyone else had this issue?
With Embryo, Facebook would never know where I was although the map could usually lock on after a few seconds. So far with this JB ROM, I have absolutely nothing working with GPS, no Facebook, Friendcaster, Maps, etc.
Thanks all...loving the new ROM but the lack of GPS is disconcerting.
Hi all, I've tried a couple of JB's ROM, but in the both every time I turn gps on and start google maps, the radio signal goes off. Any idea?
Thank you
If you are running sense-based JB rom, there seems to be an issue with google maps with that. Try a different GPS program like sygic, tomtom, route66 or whatever.
If you are running an AOSP based JB rom like CM10 I dunno, works fine for me...
