gapps 4.2 on CM 10 Android 4.1 - HTC Desire S

Hello guys, is there any way to install gapps 4.2 on JB 4.1 (e.g. Flinny's mod)?
I watched a video where they were flashed on a tablet running CM10. I tried flashing the one form flinny's website on his .129 JB build but they crash straight away.

[Q] flashing kernel

Dear Sir
I am new to this forum.I have rooted my SGSII & install ICS 4.0.4.Then i installed aokp jelly bean, slimTW 5 jelly bean & now i am using slim thunderTW5.while installing slim thunderTW5, as per instruction i first flash slim thunderTW5 rom, then google application & siyah kernel.
Now it is working fine with no issue.
My question is if i want to try other rom (eg. cm rom or again aokp or slim TW5 jelly bean or any rom), do i have to simply follow flashing instruction as provided or flash new kernel.
Can i flash any rom with this kernel ?([email protected]#49)
Earlier in ics 4.0.4, aokp jelly bean, slimTW5 jelly bean i did not require to flash any new kernel.
Sorry for bad english
Thank you in advance.

Most new rooms come with a kernel ready for flashing. I have personally used siyah for most of the rooms I have ever tried with my SII as I rally like the speed features and battery life and regardless of the from you are using you can flash any kerenl as long as it matches the O.S. i.e. JB or ICS etc

You can always try any ROM by itself and see if it boots & how you like it. Then you can go back to recovery & flash your kernel afterwards. As long as you have a nandroid backup, try flashing stuff & see how it works. If you can't get it working again, just restore your nandroid.
flashin kernel
got it
ya nandroid backup is good idea before flashing any new rom

[Q] Upgrade to CM10.1 from CM10?

I'm currently running an older build of CM10 (10-20120822-NIGHTLY-tf300t) which runs on the ICS bootloader. What will it take for me to upgrade to CM10.1 as it looks like it requires the JB bootloader? Will I need to flash an official Asus build first and then flash CM10.1 after that?
yes

Chome finally works on cm10

Great news the new update of Google chrome works fine on cm10 ROMs with no lag at all
Thought I would share it with you guys. Maybe someone can confirm if it works on cm10.1?
send from my desire s

[Q] Jelly Bean 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 rom

Hi Guys
Forgive my ignorance whats the difference from EOS3 roms to EOS4 roms
I have just flash my xoom to eos jz054k nightly 155, but would like the very latest stable 4.2.xx the one
that supports panoramic camera, and would to take advantage of using it on forthcoming holidays
looking in EOS4 roms there is lots of nightlys to choose from, would they flash over my EOS3 155 nightly
using TWRP recovery ??
You would have to install a 4.2 ROM on a CLEAN system. Meaning, you need to do a CWM Factory Data Reset prior to flashing the 4.2 ROM along with the correct Gapps.

Unfortunately, you will have to search the threads for that answer. I've switched back to 4.1.2 a long time ago, as I don't particularly care for the JB 4.2.x OS. Sorry.

help with flashing cm 10.1

soo i have baked bean rom on my tab right now witch is a unoffical cm10.1 i think and i havent updated it in a long time so i think i should switch to cyangenmod. now i looked at cm10.2 on xda first and i noticed jb bootloaders that you would have to flash with odin, i dont know how to do this, for cm 10.1 should i just have to flash the stable zip and gapps??
I am running the stable release of CyanogenMod 10.1.2_p3100
I downloaded the .zip file and gapps for 4.2.2 and pasted both to my sdcard.
Then I went to CMW mode
cleared the cache, files of previous ROM
flashed the CM10.1.2 stable release for p3100 zip
after that again I flashed the gapps for 4.2.2 zip
and rebooted my device. Now my tab is running it perfectly.
Procedure is same, Be sure to download the correct zip for the correct model number (mine is p3100) and the gapps for 4.3 (because cm10.2 is running 4.3)
You can browse gapps by below link

If you're coming from Jellybean, there's no need to flash JB bootloaders prior to flashing CM 10.1 or 10.2.

ok thanks xD just recently I got my hands on a galaxy s cappy and in order to get gingerbread and up roms I had to flash gingerbread bootloaders, if I didn't it would screw up the phone so I thought this was the same way with my tab.

10.1 is JB that is why you don't need to flash the JB Booloader for flashing 10.2 which is also JB.
