I'm seeing a lot of confusion on the forums about the Nextbook Big Lots released on Black Friday so I see it worth making a thread over.
This Nextbook does *not* use the Rockchip RK2918. If you look at the build info and do a little research (http://yifang.en.made-in-china.com/...-4-0-Tablet-with-Amlogic-8726-M3-M805MC-.html) it's got an Amlogic 8726-M3 under the hood. That's the M3 chip people keep mentioning here.
I have gathered much information on this 'new' Nextbook and posted it here. I have found what I think to be a jtag mode where, as people described, "M3-Chip" shows up in device manager. That forum thread has an Android System Info dump posted and for the sake of space I won't be reposting it here so go there and check it out. I only omitted non-relevant personal info and replaced with a [Removed] tag.
I would really like to see some genius minds at work getting this tablet rooted and the 'ROM Train' chugging. I have donated my talents of information gathering. I'm calling for someone to pick up the torch and work it from here. I've noticed at least two people that said they bought at least 3 of these so maybe someone can work with someone on donating a device to a cause and XDA can add another 'rooted knotch' to it's seemingly infinitely long belt'
---
[Update]
Here is the chip MFG's original source code to include kernel and all the toppings. This should be good starter info: http://openlinux.amlogic.com/wiki/index.php/Arm/Platform_Info/Information_for_8726M/Build_system_for_8726M_Howto. Also I've brought Slatedroid in the loop on this one so hopefully we can get the ball moving quickly.
What's up...just got one of these as well and of course like other people I was surprised to find out this wasn't rk29 as I was super ready to root this thing...I have absolutely no idea if this will help any and you may have already come across this site but it seems that the admin here (finless) knows how to work with these devices.
I don't know if that would go for this particular version with the m3 chip but anybody else who can get this rooted would be of great help. I wish I knew how to do it myself because I would but I'm only good for graphics...glad I came across this thread and to see you gathering much needed info, I'll stay tuned and if I stumble across anything that can help I'll be sure to post it here.
I have one of these units as well and would like to get it rooted. Just chiming in.

Thanks for the info! I have made some progress. Here's a thread on Slatedroid that has the M3-Chip driver and low level flash utility: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/39037-amlogic-low-level-flashing-tool/
I am tinkering with it a little but I'd encourage someone smarter than I to have a look at it as well in case I fail. To get the tablet in the proper mode do vol up + plug in usb with device powered down. I'll go ahead and attach related files here for convenience. You will need to disable driver verification to get the driver installed.
My first attempt I think I might have bricked the tablet. I'll give more info as I get it.
Yeah I fu-barred it. Anyone with experience w/ AmlogicBurningTool -or- someone who can extract the firmware so I can flash; I think I wiped my device tinkering with this utility. Any help would be appreciated as I'm dead in the water until I get the device bootable again.
[Update] I contacted Nextbook on this issue. The sup seemed pretty pissed when I let him know what I was attempting to do but for being forthcoming he agreed to see about getting me the original firmware zip file. As per usual I will update should I get any info.
Nice job! Thanks for all the work on this. I've got one I'm willing to hack on too. Not sure how to get the firmware off of it but I'm willing to try anything. I've been looking around and I supposed I'd need to run the burning tool with the device in IPL (not sure if that's what it's called) to take the firmware off? Let me know how I can help.
I'm on a thread now with Finless on FreakTab and he said he can build a rom for us to get root...he just needs the stock rom to work with...I'm waiting on some type of instructions in case I need to take it from my tab and give to him.
Maybe this could be the break we're looking for.

I sure hope so.........this stock rom sucks! I've been trying to mess around with it and install some apps from SDcard but having absolutely no luck. Now mine wont even boot. Going to have to reset to out of box.

That would be awesome. My folks are getting me a Google Nexus 10 for Christmas. If I can get this one working I might be tempted to spend that money on something else. I feel really really dumb for wiping the NAND just because it was in Chinese and I clicked a random button. I thought surely it'd give some sort of popup warning to alert me I'm being an idiot first. But it happily wiped the thing no questions asked. So, when we get to the point of flashing a firmware in; If we have to use the low level flash tool be really freakin sure you got it in English and you read the instructions thoroughly before flashing. It's not normally like me to do something that dumb but I've not been getting good sleep and I've been in a real big rush to get this project done.
Lesson of the day:
So no one has been able to install google play on it so far ?

That would require root access which has not yet been obtained. Once someone successfully roots it, installing market will be easy. Stay tuned.
No go on a ROM from TS
I opened a ticket with tech support to try to get the ROM from this thing and they said it's not available to consumers... I figured I'd get some response like that but just thought I'd give it a shot. +1 for a customer "needing" the ROM on their end.
So your tab is still not booting mascondante?!?

nope after i wiped the nand it fails at the first phase of flashing
Still haven't heard back from Netbook.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using XDA Premium HD app
Still hoping someone will root this thing and make a decent ROM. Please?
My Ramos W13Pro AMlogic was pre-rooted in a way. I was able to ADB to it and type su and got the # prompt back.
What we need for sure is uImage dump (boot.img is the same). This will give us the kernel and boot which is the most important part!
Get Android Terminal Emulator. Run it and at the $ prompt type su
If it returns with # it means you have root access.
If you do not get # it is not pre rooted. However you can do this command without root I think
cat /proc/mtd
This will show the mounted blocks. We need to dump those to SDcard using DD command.
Bob
Nextbook ADB access
Bob, I've been lurking for a while on XDA and on your own Freaktab site trying to get this Nextbook 8p12 / 8SE with amlogic chip rooted as a christmas present for my son. I've managed to get the market and google services framework installed on the thing but they force close due to other necessary files missing. I saw your post above and jumped right into ADB on this thing, but got a permission denied error on the DD command trying to copy the bootloader. Any suggestions? Many thanks!
We may have a breakthrough over at freaktab.com!
Stay tuned...

Well I guess you didn't read all the way til post 3 of the thread where you pulled the CM9 unofficial ROM...BTW your probable gonna get flamed since you also didn't make a run thru the the Q&A...since this has been address, well I ran out of fingers and toes to count how many times...but
Go back the op [Firmware][ICS]UNOFFICIAL CM9 for the Infuse 4G... go down to post 3, and do a little reading, maybe you should of did some more homework before jumping in, but hey good on you for just jumping and not looking where you might land...
If you require more reading (i suggest) see my links below...ok,
Good luck
yes i know i will get flamed, and i did read the 3rd post about the bootloaders
but i just wanted to know if there is another way to do it, and since English is not my native language, i don't understand everything very well, but thanks

Ok understood, just relax and re read it again, and go thru the Q and A seciton.
What part are you having trouble understanding...?
---------- Post added at 11:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:10 PM ----------
What I suggest is start over:
Use the one click back to stock and then use the one click to install CWM...which is what you need to get CM9 ics ok,
so first one click back using qkster method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
1. Put your phone into Download Mode.
2. If you have not used Heimdall, you will need to set up the driver for device recognition.
3. Once your device is connected, the DEVICE STATUS should show: CONNECTED. The long FLASH bar will also turn on for flashing.
4. Click on the FLASH button. (In my opinion: I recommend that you do this in a safe environment. Do not disturb your phone will flashing this firmware. Turn off Antivirus. Do not run any other programs, upload/download/youtube/burning DVD etc)
5. Once it has completed, your phone will reboot. You will hopefully see the ATT logo and reboot into STOCK UCLB3.
6. If it did not work, you will have to put it back into DOWNLOAD mode and reflash a second time, with the FLASH BOOTLOADER box checked. This is more likely if you never had proper Gingerbread bootloaders on your phone, if you are coming from FROYO or if you never had Odin a Gingerbread leak to get your bootloaders.
Then use one click from same op, qkster method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
post 2... After you have flashed the UCLB3, some of you may want to have Red ClockWorkMod (CWM) recovery to flash another ROM.
Put your phone back into DOWNLOAD mode after your phone has booted up.
Then reinstall the cm9 zip, once you reach this stage, you will have to flash it twice..ok this file...
Cwm9 is the devil! Everyone who had tried to use it for anything except putting itself on the phone has had one problem after another. Call it experimental or call it in alpha.. Whatever call it as it is a bricking virus. Just cause it was all good through ginger bread doesn't mean it will be the best forever. Pull it off the site already. it affects all phones that use it. I have an epic 4g and it nearly bricked mine about 3 months ago. Check out some.of the other forums that this alpha virus had spread to. Nearly every brick had cwm9 mentioned in it.

Yes and No...
It is a step up for the infuse, well it will be...
The problem is people are not doing their homework, and have never flashed a ROM, much less know what the letter ICS or CM9 even are, and yes it has brought some challenges but for those of us that have installed and ran it on this phone and other phones, I don't mind assisting others, but they have to do the reading and homework for them self's...
Yes you have your opinion and I don't disagree or agree, but I do hope the ROM with be brought up fully functionally, and it will with the Developer we have working it and others who are "testing" it, the ones who are familiar with...
Alright thanks mate, right now im installing the driver for heimdall, I already read everything you said and the links you shared
Thanks again, you just saved another noob
When your up and running for good, let us know, and don't forget to thank the Dev that provided you with the tools you needed...not me...just pointed you there...
Yes I will

No one who actually FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS has had an issue.
I challenge you to find ONE person who has bricked an Infuse with CM9. The only time in the CM9 flashing process one might brick is when flashing the bootloaders to get rid of rainbows - and I have PLENTY of warning that flashing bootloaders is a dangerous and risky process.
Similarly, no one has bricked an I9100 flashing CM9 either, unless the recovery they were flashing away FROM was defective (such as the initial I777 UCLD3 recovery repacks) - but that same defective recovery caused hardbricks for people flashing even rooted stock with no CM9 involvement.
Task650 was right when he replied to you in the I777 thread - he contributed more to XDA when he took a dump this morning then when you spread your bull****.
Thank You "E"....well put...

hey, i downloaded everything that i needed
and even a little bit more
but i haven't been able to start OneClick
put my phone into download mode, install drivers for heimdall
I tried with heimdall frontend in the flash tab, just like the tutorial
add every partition, and then when i click Flash
this is what it says
"Initialising connection...
Detecting device...
ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12"
any idea?

A friend and I were trying to update his Wind LGP999 phone from 2.2 to 2.3. So we followed the instructions from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327929 and things were going good until we got to the connection part. The program continues to freeze and close and the phone is stuck on the s/w update please wait while updating screen. Now we've tried hard reset and even tried to reinstall V10G_00 but the program still freezes. I've been doing some research and unless I haven't searched enough I haven't seen any thread or post with someone with the same problem. So any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Done some more research and found How To Load a Custom ROM by David Cogen from The Unlockr and follower his steps and things seemed to work out pretty well but I still get this screen

You need to use nvflash to install clockwork recovery then you will be able to install whichever rom you want. There are a few threads out there showing how to install the recovery permanently.
Don't worry you aren't bricked

Thanks for the post but I've already used nvflash to install CWR and have tried multiple roms and all have ended in the same way. I know I've been doing it right because I even followed the video from the unlockr to the T but at the end where he reboots I instead get the same screen in my earlier post. Is it possible I'm doing something wrong or maybe using the wrong roms?
Its most likely you are just missing a step somewhere. Try heading to the Hellfire rom help thread and read through there see if your missing something.... Usually this is a cut and dry process I don't see how its not working for you ...

Not at all. Just use nvflash rom for recovery. It will put completely stock tmo 2.3.3 . On phone, sorry no links. Search for that and it should give you a bootable phone. Then just nvflash cwm recovery and flash rom of choice. Don't forget to wipe data. No root required.
I dunno if mentioned before but when I used the method from these links http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327929 & http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473781 once I had gotten to installer update part it had a connection error which brought me to my present situation also now whenever i tried to repeat the process the program freezes and crashes. No white LG logo? Or nothing at all? Which link were you following? If it was the first one, then you may want to try it again, I was in the same situation. Not even backlight worked, but I used the NVflash script again and it booted to T-Mobile official 2.3.3 unrooted. Did you hold the volume buttons the entire time?

There's been a lot of changes since I posted this thread!
We've now got a rom for LineageOS 14.X based on Nougat which can be found in its own thread here!
This thread is still useful because it provides links to the history of how the tablet was rooted and how we were able to get a custom recovery but all discussion on the LineageOS rom should take place in that thread from now on. When new roms are created I will add them to this first post for posterity so everyone can find them. Does anyone know how to best request our own forum? I think we're starting to get big enough one would be of use...

Lineage ROM, Build one Current Build: lineage-13.0-20170219-UNOFFICIAL-x103f.zip All hail bbelos for hacking away at this and sharing the results!
As per usual all things related to rooting and installing roms is at the users' own risk. You also assume the responsibilities of administering your own hardware when you seize administrative rights and control. Be careful and responsible when undertaking any actions. These links are intended to help find discussed items in the thread, not act as an HOWTO. You must do your reading before acting on anything or the brick you create will be yours to hold.
PS: What else do we need to petition for an official section for our tablet? We've got root, unlocked the bootloader, and a mostly functional rom created via Lineage by that wonderful individual known as bbelos. What else do we need?

I'm mostly satisfied with it as is, but I desperately miss my adblocker and my xposed framework features, as well as the ability to move updated apks to the system partition so as to not have redundant apps wasting space.
Unfortunately there is very little information available about this tablet.
Walmart.com listing
Energy Star page.
Lenovo's own website doesn't seem to have much mention of it beyond the source code dump listed here. I run Ubuntu on my laptop and my TV box for Kodi but I couldn't tell you if the code has everything and it would be possible for someone to build something or if it's missing critical information making hopes of a new community rom or cyanogenmod rom impossible. Does anyone else have this model tablet and know how to root it, put in a recovery? The one that comes with the device is in Chinese so I powered it off because I wasn't sure how else to get out of there.
Thanks in advance for all help given.

Do you have a Windows machine? Have you given Kingoroot a try from Windows yet?
I don't have a Windows box so I haven't tried it yet.
I did notice there's an option in Developer Options to allow OEM unlocking, which allows the bootloader to be unlocked but am not sure if it actually does anything or not.

yes i have a windows laptop. i have had no luck with either versions of kingo root on this tablet. all my android items have been rooted and upgraded with no issues but this tablet has not been cooperating at all lol. i hope someone will have a solution for this tablet soon.
I also bought one of these "Lenovo TAB 10 (TB-X103X)" tablets from WallyMart for $100. It is an apparently excellent tablet, perfect for my intended purpose. Great screen albeit only 800 lines but rich colors and bright. And it is speedy.
I tried the following to root it with no success:
Towelroot: tr.apkKingroot: KingoRoot.apkKingroot: via ADB
Booting the tab into it's stock "Recovery(?)" (power + volume down) confronts the user with a Chinese language "Recovery" (in quotes because I don't read Chinese so it actually could be saying anything like "ROOT? HAHAHA"):
Here's a link to a picture of the recovery screen: tinyurl.com/jhfwgt7
Anyone care to translate into English? Please? Is one of these options for the purpose of installing a .zip file (like SuperSU)?
Another thing to try is installing a custom Recovery like TWRP and from that installing SuperSU. I have little confidence that TWRP will install on this device so using the stock recovery may be a better option, if it is an option at all.
I did manage to unlock the bootloader on mine (I think). I have not tried any root options without a firmware backup method in fear of a bootloop. Especially since it is my wife's haha!
XX
I was able to get the bootloader unlocked as well and have since confirmed that it is unlocked. However, I believe that is just the first step. We need a custom recovery made for it and then we should have no problem getting root. I don't know what is required to make a custom recovery but since the source code is available, it seems like this is something that someone smarter than I might be able to accomplish. Anyone know anything about custom recoveries?
Jonathan
Hm, same issue here, would love a way to root.
Also, I can't seem to enable multi-window mode, even in Developer mode. Any suggestions?

This is an image of what I see when I boot from a shut down tablet with the volume down button and the power button held down. Does anyone read enough Chinese to tell us what it says?
Doing the boot from a shut down tablet and volume up and power button held gives a different screen, which is in English and resembles Clockwise recovery.

Good find. However, it seems to just be a diagnostic app.
1) Display backlight
2) Button
3) Motor
4) Display
5) After the camera (I am guessing back camera)
6) Front Camera
7) Speaker
8) Headset
etc...
I just used an app that would translate the text. Good to know but probably not helpful in obtaining root.

Root/Recovery Bounty?
I could really use these tablet for a project that I am working on. However, I need root and custom recovery. It is a pretty nice tablet, especially for the price. I picked it up at my local Wal-mart for $79. They still have a stack of them. I have heard of people putting out "bounties" for rooting, etc. I am not rich, but I would be willing to put up some money. I could even provide a device to a qualified person to experiment on. Any other interest in adding to the bounty?
Well a good place for you guys to start would be finding out if the device bootloader is locked. If you have windows (don't know if you can do this on MAC or Ubuntu) you can download the Android SDK and when connected to the device with debugging enabled type in CMD in the adb and fastboot folder "fastboot oem status" to possibly find out if its locked and "fastboot oem unlock" to unlock it if you're willing to take the risk.
Get back to me with your thoughts on this and if this works and unlocks it/its already unlocked, check if the device has an MTK Chipset. If it does there's a tool to make custom CWM Recovery's for MTK devices and you could flash a SuperSU zip from there.
Best of luck guys!

Don't currently have access to a Windows machine at moment. My stuff is all Linux or my MacBook (which I'm increasingly developing a loathing for). I take it that the 'unlock bootloader' option in Developer Options is not really something that does anything then?

OK, this I can answer. It has a Snapdragon 210 not an MTK. People were ragging down the tablet before Black Friday because of that so it stuck in my memory.

I really couldn't tell you if the unlock bootloader in developer options would really unlock it (though it defiantly would make sense to!) without checking the status in CMD.
If the "device status" CMD doesn't work then I'm pretty sure it means there isn't a bootloader lock/its always unlocked. There is an alternative for Mac and Linux os's to do this I think but I can't remember how its done. (Worst case scenario use a virtual machine to run these tests in windows).
After we figure this out, since you said you can't find anything on this tablet, there probably isn't a custom recovery. (There is a tool to make Recovery's but its for MTK chipsets, although there may be a tool or something now for snapdragon chips to make them).
If you are able to look into checking the lock status using Mac/Linux and you find it's unlocked/unlockable, then there is also a way for Mac and Linux (or a virtual machine) to push a superuser zip with the CMD.
Let me know if what I wrote wasn't straightforward enough because I confused myself a bit even writing it lol.
Best of luck!

I have tried flashing SuperSU on my device both before and after bootloader unlock. The factory recovery will only flash ZIP that are signed with their signature, so despite having the bootloader unlocked, I think we need a custom recovery to gain root access. Does anyone know of a recovery for the same chip? I am willing to put mine at risk, I just haven't found an option.

That's good news to hear its unlocked, nothing will ever flash in a stock recovery unfortunately unless developed by the OEM, so now its the more difficult part.. I did a quick look around and I can't seem to find a recovery. I found out though, if you can find a recovery with the same chipset and the same resolution, it's able to be ported. (Pretty sure I read somewhere that twrp can't be ported so it'd have to be cwm, phillz or another one. Not entirely sure though).
A lot of the ones I came across while looking for a portable recovery were all guides for MTK devices and I haven't found a snapdragon one yet :/.
Also I appreciate you willing to put your device at risk, but I want to be damn sure its right first otherwise its not worth messing up your tablet!

My local Wal-mart just has a stack of them out on the counter (approx 20) with the $79 price on them. They aren't going very fast but they don't have any display models out and you would have to look for them to find them.

I, personally, am not willing to test this, but if anyone does, please post your results. I'll upload an aboot free (Dev Friendly) firmware as soon as possible in case anyone wants to test it.

If it breaks something that I didn't warn or know about, please share with everyone else.

I'm gonna try it out when I get a chance this week. Thanks!

How we looking, captain?
I recently was pushed the QC2 update with the March 2017 security package. I have noticed a significant decline in performance and battery life. Anyone in the same boat?
It seems like they have pushed a security updated every other month or so for the last 6 months. It is very irritating. I want to go back to root but it is too much of a hassle to figure it out at this point. I feel like they are deliberately doing these updates to make the S5 run worse and feel more outdated so you are more inclined to go buy a new one. Really sick of the whole game that is the telecom industry.
I am going to try doing a factory reset (very annoying) and see if that helps. Hopefully I can hold out long enough for the Pixel 2.
@Dudash QD1 is up, can you upload it to AFH. thanks in advance.
Noooooo! I flashed the Dev friendly QC2 modem and it seems to have killed my dev bootloader and wiped my phone!
I'll keep messing around and see if it can't be remedied. I could just punch myself for being so ambitious, though.
Edit 1: It was taking forever on the Verizon logo, so I pulled the battery and rebooted to recovery. It wiped TWRP and put in stock. I booted to Download Mode, and it still reads MODE: Developer (which I hope to God means my Dev bootloader is retained).
Edit 2: TWRP sucessfully re-flashed. The "Custom" with unlocked lock icon has reappeared on the boot screen, along with the yellow text at the top (so clearly, I was wrong about losing Dev status. Whew! I just freaked out when I saw a plain boot screen and the dreaded Verizon logo :silly. My installation of Lineage OS is clearly gone, but, peeking through TWRP's file manager appears to indicate my media data (photos, downloads, etc.) may yet have survived. I'll flash Lineage and GApps and see what happens.
Edit 3: Lineage OS booted successfully (made easier with the help of an SD card-- hooray for those things, amirite?), with QC2 baseband intact! Hooray! And my downloads and pictures and everything survived too.
Lesson: Always make a nandroid backup when doing this sort of thing! It takes a while, and it's morbidly annoying, but had I done it, I probably wouldn't've had to start from scratch. But hey, got the new baseband, and still running Lineage, so I call this a win. Cheers, everyone! And thanks to OP for posting updates!
Follow-up: Since it doesn't seem like we can flash only the new basebands by themselves, I've found a tactic that does the trick for those of us on not-stock ROMs. Boot into TWRP and make a backup of Boot, System, and Data (notice there's a Modem option-- leave it unchecked). I imagine it's best to put the backup image on an SD card. Then Odin the dev-friendly firmware update (I used the no-wipe option). Let the phone restart, then Odin the most recent TWRP back on there. Boot into TWRP, do a Factory Reset Wipe, and restore the backup you made. Takes a little while, but it does leave you with your phone as it was, but with the new baseband. :victory:

No problem! I'm sure you've already seen the results of my first (embarrassingly n00bish) independent baseband flash
I appreciate the response, though. Fortunately, I'm not into GPS spoofing, so this isn't an issue for me. When you say you flashed QC2 and QD1, do you mean strictly the basebands without the bootloaders, or did you flash the entire updates and still retain Dev status?

I just pulled this device out of a closet where it's been stored for the past four years or so. Still boots up to the latest JB 4.2.1. Hardware still looks almost new and seems a waste to just get rid of it. If possible, I'd like to bring it up to the latest Adroid OS that the hardware can handle, and use it in the kitchen to look at cooking videos online (it's bigger and easier to see than my phone, LOL). However the device is still locked, and the Asus Unlock app, according to the Playstore, isn't compatible with my device. (I probably need an older version than what's in the Playstore now). I've rooted Samsung phones before, but never done anything with a tablet. Also it's been a while (last phone I rooted was a Samsung Galaxy S5), so step by step of where I need to go from here would be much appreciated. Thanks!

After that you'll need an SD to install TWRP and a the custom OS you want to flash (I'm not an expert, just repeating what I've been reading here).

Well, I'm stuck at trying to get the Unlock App to work too. Keep getting the same error message that everybody else was getting. I've tried getting help from Asus and got stuck in their Knowledge Base loop. Couldn't get a hold of any live person, not even a chat. I have a feeling that's how it is during COVID-19 pandemic. I'm going to put this project on hold for now and revisit it again when Asus has more support staff available.
Thanks again for all the help!
TechieSophie, i know how to root Asus Tf300t, you need to use the vroot (chinese) then you need to install Super SU to change the language, that works on me, but still having the problem to unlock the bootloader, im working on that, maybe in a few days i will get it! regards
Same here... No luck unlocking the device. Android has latest updates that were available... Ver 4.2.1
I've tried the following...
Tried UnLock_Device_App_v7 and v8
Tried the above after removing all accounts
Tried the above after System restore
Registered the Tablet with proper serial number on Asus website and tried again
Created a new account and tried again
All I get from the unlock tools is the network error everybody gets (I think it's not supported any more) and someone needs to come up with a new utility or custom decipher utility that considers what the Asus website used to feedback to the utility after you supply the serial number. Not sure if this is unique code for every serial number or not?
Tried connecting with AsusSync and using RootDebugfs... It sees the Tablet, restarts it and stuff, but long story short it cannot push the files over (denied or whatever)
With AsusSync and RootDebugfs I'm not sure if I need or even can root the device which would then give me permission to push files to the root folder?
As of yesterday I emailed Asus support, however, I doubt anybody who has emailed about this topic as of recent will get any kind of clear response like "We cannot and will not give unlock support for this device any more" or "If you registered your device our network tool connection will be fixed shortly".
I've searched for updated videos that have been created in the last year or two but there is only a few and in another language
If anybody has a more resent successful method step by step it would be appreciated...
such as 1) Root and method 2) Unlock bootloader and method 3) etc. etc.
Thanks, I know a lot of people are trying, reading, and awaiting a successful method for devices that had not been previously unlocked and or rooted in order to upgrade.

This part is a key note:
The year is 2021. Get the same network error that other people are getting while trying to use v7 or v8 of unlock tool. Tried other unlock tools. Tried Rooting. Tried delete user accounts. After using Kingroot / Kingoroot / and other "root" apps tried method of copying the modified DMClent app to replace the stock one... but will not copy new file even after being able to rename the original in the /root directory, Tried creating new user account, Tried factory reset, retried all the above in different orders. Registered on Asus. Tried again, and again. Researched more and tried their links. Tried unlock for other Asus Transformers that people says worked for their TF300T... NOTHING. Still get the network error and cannot unlock Bootloader to proceed.
Here is my reply from Asus:
So... Unless I'm wrong, I believe that unless somebody has some NEWER (Last 2 or 3 years?) custom unlock tool that simulates whatever Network response the tool(s) wants to unlock the Asus Transformer TF300T or some Brute Force unlock, or something then myself and everybody else that is stuck at the network error (Last 2 or 3 years?) cannot upgrade this device?
Thank you all... Look forward to some new news or even closure. It would be a shame to toss this nice tablet... I just need to get ANY Android version stock or custom higher than 4.2 because a lot of newer apps are requiring it
try with mitmproxy ( windows or linux). i unlocked the device last week. ( see in tf700 forum)
