TW Weather Widget - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Why does the stock weather Widget not show up when using a 3rd party launcher like Apex or nova?
Sent from my Verizon GS3 on Bean's JB ROM

Because it's only designed and intended to work on the touch wiz framework. Use beautiful widgets.

You can also use fancy widgets which I personally like better than beautiful widgets.

Launchers?

Anyone else have a rooted phone but not a new rom and use a custom launcher?
I have tried most of them, but have narrowed it down to Zeam(which i use on my nook color) or Go launcher - what are your favorites? I like the theme options on Go.

What does a new ROM have to do with a custom launcher?
I use LauncherPro. I've heard positive things about GO and ADW.
Nothing specific just that I wanted to make it obvious I do not have a custom rom as sometimes that will change the basic home screen anyway.

Yeah the ROM will also have a custom launcher, but if you put another custom launcher, it will look the same as without the ROM. Doesn't matter if you're rooted, either.
Im using stock deodexed rooted with launcher pro

LauncherPro has been the most stable and snappy for me.

i started using MXHome, it is a regular launcher for the most part with some really nice features. A full 3d home cover along with what MX is calling a "smart" appdrawer. It allows you to put your apps in alphabetical, sort by category and other options. I am currently using the glass theme and it is really nice. Check out this vid on YouTube to see some of it's features in action:

I like this look.
I prefer Go Launcher with the themes and app drawer transition effects and that it has running apps and recent apps tabs in the app drawer.
Using zeam launcher, very nice app and low memory use

Using Zeam Launcher for low memory foot print, and has most of the functions Launcher Pro has.
Go Launcher is no doubt my favorite, nice simple features...everything seems to make sense....and that's after trying Zeam, Launcher Pro, SPB (another favorite but I get tired of the flashiness after a while), and adw is nice also.

What widgets are you folks using these days?

I have found myself creating only shortcuts to apps lately rather than only using widgets. I always liked the appeal of being able to use the widgets, but it just seems easier for me to use the app shortcuts these days. Only widgets I'm using are weather and clock.
So what other widgets are you guys currently using? Just wanting to know if I am missing out on a cool widget. They are after all one of the things that make owning an Android unique.

Best Launcher

After witnessing the beauty of the stock Jelly Bean launcher on a relative's Nexus 7, I am desperate to get this on my Samsung Galaxy Note (as I personally do not see £200 GBP as a worthy investment for a mere 1.7" extra screen real-estate). Consequently, I am looking for a near-stock Jelly Bean launcher with capabilities to resize widgets to accommodate the extra space on this device's screen. I'd also prefer for the S-Memo widgets, such as the quick access bar, to actually work (Apex cuts off the edge of this widget). Nova is pretty good, but it doesn't seem all that smooth at time. So, anyone know of a launcher which fits this criteria but is also relatively smooth?
EDIT: Apex and Nova are okay, but I do not want to have to pay for unread notifications!
Any ideas?

Try Adw ex launcher. Runs really smooth as long as you use the default theme
Edit: sorry forgot you wanted a free launcher . But it's well worth buying

You can't go wrong with Holo Launcher, quick and highly customisable plus the Holo Lock Screen is the new Jellybean one.

Try atom launcher really very very nice and fresh.......

Nova Launcher, all Widgets are resizable, great dev. Holo is a good one as well but I still prefer Nova.. good luck.

1. Nova Launcher.
2. Apex Launcher or Atom Launcher
All mentioned launchers don´t support S-Memo widget, that OP wants to use.
Besides TW i don´t know any launcher that supports it.
sorry Brad, you cant have everything atm. if u want to use S-widgets, then its TW for you, if u want to resize, then its something else like Atom etc etc

Installed Holo Launcher as I really like this setup - but, I cannot add weather / clock widgets..
No more room on home screen?
What Grid settings are people using for this??
Weather works now but no clock!
+1 for nova launcher

I use Nova launcher now, as it allows me to adjust the widget sizes so that I can make all my widgets fit the extra width of the Note (I am OCD like that).

Same does Apex.
Apex gets my vote as the smoothest. Nova is good just not as good. Others are interesting like SS launcher and TSF but I am too lazy to learn those.

Can the TouchWiz Accuweather widget be used on other launchers?

Hey all,
I'm trying to get the TouchWiz Accuweather widget on ADW Launcher, but whenever I try to add the widget, it's not available as an option. The widget only seems to be available on the TouchWiz launcher. Is there any way to get this widget on ADW, or on any other launcher? I've tried downloading the widget apk, but obviously that didn't work since it's already technically on my device, I just can't access it.
I've provided a screenshot of the widget in case there was any confusion.

I'm pretty sure that Samsung has integrated the widget into touchwiz on the Note 10.1 it's the same on my sgs3. On older model tablets/phones the accuweather widget is available in other launchers, and I have it on Apex on my 7.7

You can't use certain HTC widgets on third party launchers (Same for Samsung devices and Touchwiz launcher), because they are a part of the Sense launcher and only available to the Sense launcher. The reason you can see the other Android widgets across all launchers is because they are part of the core Android framework and thus accessible to all launchers. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help you out.
