[Q] DLNA? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i thought that the Razr HD had DLNA capabilities (also marked on the site under "features and specifications")? So far can't see any apk or anything.
On the motorola site it's just marked some general information on DLNA and that the Droid X has it, but that's it...
Any information, help and/or apk from anyone please? :fingers-crossed:

Perfect & thanks!

I have not been able to get the built-in sharing working with my TV. But iMediaShare works great.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bianor.amspremium
That's the paid version, but there's a lite version that's free.

The Desire HD/Inspire unfortunately do not support HDMI out.
They were designed to use DLNA for all video out.
could you guys forward me to tutorials or information on any hardware/software i need?

This is your best bet if your TV does not support DLNA streaming:

There could be cheaper alternatives though.

HTC Desire HD Media Link DLNA Adaptor.
Media Link is a DLNA multimedia adaptor converting your non-DLNA TV into a full DLNA certified TV.
Simply power on and connect to the HDMI port on your TV, Desire HD will be able to wirelessly stream video/movies (up to 720p), photo, and music content stored on the device to DLNA-enabled HDTVs or to standard HDTVs via its new Media Link adapter with HDMI out.

Use MoboPlayer to play the videos instead of stock. Some stock players can only play standard size videos, and your screen resolutions is most likely not standard.
Love this app. It's a effective tool to help solving bugs / other people with settings. It's working on the dhd arhd 6.1, but with a little lag while recording in high quality at 30 fps.
Future requests:
- option to show the screentaps while recording with a marker color?
- option to show a toast text with which hard keys is pressed
- option to enable mic while recording.
- auto hide the app when pushing the button to start recording.
- small button to stop recording always on top.
- option to set output container / encoding (3gpp/mp4)
- option to set delay before recording
- multilanguage support (i could translate a Dutch version)

Watch TV on Android

There's a pretty nice app on the market called Androidvideo Recharged. It has many tv shows to stream to Android. It doesn't use flash, so it is compatible on more devices than most streaming apps.
Cheers , but I do prefer Icestream.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.stonyx.icestream
It can't be beaten, and its free.
Thanks for your suggestion though.
Regards
IceStream uses flash though, and just links to other sources on the internet that you can go directly to on your browser.. They can be removed at any time also. Androidvideo has their own servers and can ensure that videos won't randomly be removed.

Don't forget to tell everyone that the app is free but you have to pay to watch anything.
I prefer SPB TV, it has not that many channels, but enough for me, and it's free.

You don't have to pay to watch anything. What are you talking about. They do have a premium membership but they also have free videos. If your not smart enough to figure that out, maybe you.shouldn't be on XDA.

Ice stream isn't even on the market anymore and none of the links on my version of the app work anymore nor have they for weeks. Least with androidvideo, when they have a server problem, they have their videos back up within days, not weeks.

[Q] Need help in streaming video from dropbox

hi everyone,
When I tried to stream video from my dropbox acct using MX player, it would show "this video cannot be played". :crying:
Howeve, using my Nexus 7, the MX player works perfectly with the same video file.
So it has to be due to some HTC One XL settings.
Look forward to your advice and feedback.
Thanks.
Interested as well.

I know the BEST one for streming. It can also download but its not so great for big files cause it uses androids default downloader, so u gotta hope the connections isnt interrupted.
Vert few have noticed this app, but it is really great! "Vget"! Its awesome!
Others for downloading are viz
Free video downloader
Wondershare player

Recent versions (v0.3+) have an integrated Download Manager that even supports multiple concurrent connections, pause/resume etc. So it should work well for big files now.

Yes, 2.x cannot be supported as it lacks some required APIs. However Android 4 is almost two years old now and I guess most people have upgraded by now.
