Hy guys,
After spending 5h researching my problem i have decided to ask professional help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P6200 running on android 3.2. I tried to upgrade to ICS but i had no luck.
I used odin 1.85 and 3.04 followed the instructions step by step, used heimdall didn't work. Tried two diffrent firmware P6200XXLQ1_P6200OXALQ1_ATO and P6200XXLQ7_P6200XEULP1_XEU. It stuck on SetupConection... and it fails with odin 3.04, i used pit and re-partition an still no luck.
The thing is that it would not connect to Kies, the pc recognize it u can browse the files download the pictures, browse sd card, but not connect to kies (don't know why). I took a picture for u guys to see what i think is wierd.
What do you guys think are my chances to update to ics or other firmware better than 3.2 because i hate the way it works right now.
UPDATE:
After countless hours of trying i managed to crush PlayStore, I've wiped/clear cash data and factory restore and still nothing .

I completely ****ed up my SGS3 on Verizon. This is what happened: I was trying to go from an AOKP rom back to stock, rooted touchwiz. I forgot to make a backup on it right after I rooted it so with my conscious I decided to use odin and flash the full stock image then it went through the process. First flashing the boot files, then stock (e3) recovery, and then when it hit system (system.img.ext4) it failed with the error message "Complete(Write) operation error" and I have no idea what went wrong. Im using the original usb cable, ive tried 3 different usb ports (im on a laptop) and I tried redownloading odin and the stock image but it keeps stopping on system. Ive looked around the e3 recovery and found that if i have a signed update.zip I could bring it back to life but Ive been searching for 3 days and I cant find it. Could anyone provide me with a signed update.zip or otherwise help me with getting odin to flash everything? I will do anything except open up the phone and send it back to verizon.
SPECS:
Phone: Verizon Samsung Galaxy SIII- White 16GB (With a now: Locked Bootloader)
Laptop: Song Vaio 2007 Laptop thats running Windows XP in VMware. (The computer itself is running Windows8 but Its buggy and I cant install the drivers)
If you need any extra information, just ask. Thanks in advance
~Ruslan~

I found steps to root my gt-p3113 via heimdall as I can't run odin in OS X. Followed instructions to the t but turns out the files used were from april of this year and I think possibly for a previous kernel version. When the tab restarted it just shows the galaxy tab 2 splash screen but nothing else. Clockwork didn't install. I can get into download mode and it shows custom instead of stock. :crying:
How can I fix this? I just need to get back to stock 4.0.4 so I can start back at step one and then get on a win machine and try the odin steps to root. If someone can please direct me it would save me worry and frustration...

Well this has only been explained about a 100 times here. So a little searching would have been a good idea.
Just download the 4.0.4 firmware from http://www.sammobile.com for your model and country and flash it via ODIN.That's it
find a WINDOWS computer and follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007876&highlight=restore
I'm sorry but I searched for hours. I found the odin restore but I don't have windows... I was looking for a way to restore from my mac via heimdall. But if odin is the only way then I'll have to find a windows machine.

I've not seen any heimdall method here, so you will need to find a windows computer, in general windows 7 is where you want to be when flashing android related stuff, its the OS everything is built to work with.
Anyone there who could help... I've been get hype when i receive my first android device (galaxy tab P6200) so i search for tutorial on how to root and flash new firmawre.. i did everything in the tutorial but suddenly.. odin has stop working. when i boot my P6200 it turns out to be softbrick.. sorry i'am kinda new on android scene i've been on ios scene before o didn't think it would be harder to find a solution on android... ive spent 2 straight days finding downloading firmware ive even search xda for this matter but no luck... i can still access download mode but odin and Heimdall still give me such error that prevents me to fix my device... i'am kinda losing hope so i try to post here to see if its still a chance for me to recover my softbrick device... hope someone could help... insanely beggin....:crying:

Need more info, exact model number firmware you were on, firmware file you were tryimg to flash, did you check, or uncheck anything in Odin? Download mode is good, you should be OK.
How do you know its softbrick? Bootloop, hang at logo? Which one?, as much data as possible will get you fixed faster.
I had same problem. You need a PIT file for p6200 and use it in odin together with the newest firmware from sammobile.com.
It works for me.

I have limited knowledge on flashing, but as far as I know, If u r using a 'PIT' file, be sure to check on 'Repartition' Option in Odin (while flashing). If u Flash wid ONLY a md5 file, ensure that 'Re Partition' box is unchecked while flashing. May be u kept Repartition checked while you were not using a PIT file or vice versa.
If that is d case, try flashing again by following a correct process.
Any help or advice here would be GREATLY appreciated --
Q: Is it possible to get root on my S3? SCH-I535 running stock android 4.3 (I535VRUCNC1)
First, I am new to rooting so please refrain from ridicule... I have been online literally since this morning trying to find a way to do this, so needless to say I have searched. Tried Motochopper in OS X, and when that didn't work, went so far as to install Windows in VMware to try saferoot and CF autoroot--still no luck. From what I've read, I am I correct in understanding that this may not be possible? Bottom line: All I want is root in order to mount the internal memory to a volume for recovery of deleted files.
Thanks!
You're gonna have to ODIN back to ML1. NC1 has a Saferoot/Safestrap patch... The is thread on it. XDA search is your friend...

Thanks guys, but I've just about given up on this and am not too eager to dig my hole deeper. I'll spare the details as to why I'm doing this, but at this rate I also wonder if my files could even be recovered from internal memory after 2 days anyway.
I tried reverting to ML1 with the method here: [GUIDE Win/Linux/Mac] Debrick 4.3 with Odin or Verizon Utility + PIT [SOFT BRICK]
and had even worse luck as it ended up soft-bricking my phone into Odin/download mode loop that said "firmware upgrade encountered an issue..." Fortunately this morning I gave it one last go assuming nothing to lose and tried repartitioning with just the pit file in Odin 3.07, and that got it to reboot.
@Rushead, I have tried the method in that link to the best of my ability and haven't had any luck. It fails at writing NAND.
I wonder if the fact that I'm attempting this on my mac in a Windows XP x64 virtual machine is part of the problem. I hadn't used it in years and ran a ton of updates, but I've been getting errors to the effect of "Wlanapi.dll is missing" since installing the samsung drivers and Kies. Perhaps I just can't get the drivers to install correctly?

Here's the thread with your answers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203309
been trying this quite a few times now, someone suggested extracting the PIT and the Bootloader and CSC files from the stock Rom... will this help?
