Its coming on Tuesday. I know this because a friend of a friend told the cop that gave me the ticket for driving while talking on my cell phone. Its how it came up.
.... Or you can go to the Dev section and put it on your phone now.

Verizon usually trails general release of Android by 3-6 months. If it comes before the end of the year, it'll be extremely fast.
Yeah, Verizon...um.....yeah.
I had a Galaxy Nexus from Verizon & it never received the "official" 4.1.2 update from Google. Supposed to get all updates since it was a Google phone, but since it was Verizon, I gave up on them & installed all updates through custom roms. I suggest you give up on Verizon & do the same. Unlock, root & rom your GS3. Jellybean is great on it.
I agree with Chocu1a, JB is awesome on the Galaxy S3. I just recently took the plunge, this being my first Android device, it was surprisingly easy, considering some amazing devs on xda made it so easy to do. It makes a great phone better.
As for Verizon releasing JB, I could imagine June 2013 would still be a little soon. Haha. I can't deny their impeccable service though, that LTE screams.
VZW SGS3 Rooted, Unlocked, CWM6, Stock JB ROM.
Yea I gave up too. I recommend flashing taste of beans 3.5. Has the 4.2 keyboard which is miles ahead of the touch wiz keyboard. Rooting and flashing is a simple process and you get a nice adrenaline rush on the first boot.
Maybe Google will team up with Dish network and everyone can ditch Verizon. Here's hoping.

You can flash the latest stock K1 jellybean update if you dont want a custom rom. Take the time and do some research in the dev section...so easy my 1yr old can do it!

Isn't it time for some idiot to post that the Verizon CSR they spoke to, that sounded really knowledgeable, (LOL) said they heard it was going to be released in a week.
I spoke with a reallly nice Verizon CSR, and she told me for sure it will be coming out soon. Lol.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I was told by a very knowledgeable CSR that my JB update was pushed yesterday.
It's fast very fast.
:good:
The most honest answer I've gotten from a CSR was they don't know. However, they usually get an email from Verizon telling them its coming about 2 weeks (and at least 1 week) prior to the release. They haven't gotten the email so probably not soon. Not particularly helpful but honest.
After the S4 releases on Big Red for a few months and they feel like throwing the S3 a bone.

This reminds me of when the epic touch 4g came out I went to the sprint store to look at it and when I spoke to the CSR about how the 3g speeds were he said "I've had all of them and sprint is by far the fastest".

Is the leaked Jb with touchwiz 100% stable? And by 100% stable I mean just as stable as ICS touchwiz was, No "oh everything works except bla bla bla bla bla bla and bla"...
Hi, I have a Verizon S3 flashed to Boost Mobile. I tried to gain root by flashing a stock rooted Rom and messed up the flash. I had to take it back to be flashed again Now I'm more cautious before hand. I should have backed it up before attempting it, I know I know lol can anyone shed some light on how to update a flashed phone as well as how to root it. I could really use the help
Also after I messed up the boost flash I paniced and flashed a sprint kernel hoping this would fix the problem. Since then anything that I've tried to view including taking camera shots and web browsing if done in landscape mode will be upside down, any remedy for this problem? I know now... root first, flash later.

Yes everything works lol. The last leak is probaly gonna be the OTA anyways. Just odin the K1 release, no need to root or unlock.
I heard that Verizon had scheduled the Jelly Bean release for Friday in New York. However the police felt that dropping small candies from a great height onto the tourist in time square might be dangerous so the whole thing was scrapped. Verizon is going back to the drawing board and we should be hearing new details about a release in 7 to 357 days.

I just received a text from AT&T telling me to upgrade my phone to Froyo, Whats crazy that almost everyone that has been on this forum has been on a custom Froyo Rom or GB for the last 6 months. , I think that they need to get to know there customers better
I got it to and I am running stock Froyo.
they always sent that out before and after an update. Not sure exactly what it looks at but if you don't have stock rom on the phone it sends that

i never got a text like that.
I wrote them back and told them they needed to upgrade to Honeycomb.
No longer sent from my BlackBerry.
FYI, I just tried software update from phone. Got an "unable to connect to update server"error. Last time that happened right before an update.
Or am I wishful thinking....

Too bad I'm not running my phone on AT&T, I feel left out haha.
I feel deprived, I never got a text either.... Thank God for custom ROMs!!!!
Is it normal that I still haven't gotten any OTA update? Im over in NY and went to stock ROM, went to stock recovery, and unrooted the phone. When is the OTA update rolling out until? Did it stop? I keep getting connection failed when manually looking for a software update.
And I don't want to manually use the LG tool because I am afraid of bricking the phone and don't want to go through the trouble of unbricking it.
I never got the OTA either and it was announced they stopped. The LG updating didn't brick my phone either.
I was actually wondering the same thing.
I called Tmo CS over a week ago, and he swore that I would be getting either an email, text or phone call, letting me know that I would be getting the update. He was nice, but I think he was new (didn't seem all that sharp). I did ask him about the rumor that they stopped the OTA, and he said that there was nothing about that in his system. He said, according to his system, it was still active. I asked him like 3x lol.
I have a refurb, so can't use the LG update tool. I know there is an alternate way of doing it, here on the forums, but I'm just too darn lazy lol. I will be calling Tmo again, in the next few days. If I get any useful info, I will pass it along to you.
I like my G2x, but honestly...between LG and Tmo, this has been one, huge clusterf**k. Thank God for the devs here, and around the net. They have done what LG and Tmo have continuously failed to do...made me a happy G2x owner!
ive had the same issue trying to do it by the phone so used LG tool and .... bricked my phone
i called Tmo and they exchanged my phone at no cost. the new one came with Gb preinstalled.
Why not just screw the OTA and grab one of the great custom, pre rooted roms. I did the OTA thing and had to re root. Ran the official update for two days and got tired of the thing. The custom roms spoil you.

I'm running EB 2.3.3, and love it. And thanks to EB, I also love my G2X again. But I would like to have the new baseband. And I can only get that from the update.
Really, what I think it comes down to (for me), is that I want T-Mobile to step the hell up, and stop jerking me around. How do you release an OTA...but only to SOME? I've just never heard of such a thing. And how do you release your "flagship" phone, then realize it's got issues, and then try to sweep all the owners of said "flagship" under the carpet...where you don't have to deal with them any more? It just makes me sad. I used to brag to all my friends, how much I loved T-Mobile.

I kind of sympathize, but people recommend custom roms as a blanket solution to random issues way too often. Don't get me wrong, I love EB and CM, and xboarder's rom is fantastic, but the first two don't have a2dp and the latter won't still give you a new baseband. For people like me who have a non-functional gps and rely on a2dp, the official update is pretty critical.
Also, is there any evidence suggesting T-Mobile actually pulled the update? I think I know the post where this rumor started, and for what it's worth, a pretty knowledgeable rep told me about a week ago that the OTA is still rolling out, and will continue to do so through August. If the roll-out is slow, I don't think its too surprising considering what little space lg has to screw up again.

I still haven't gotten the 4.0.4 update for my NS4G. I realize the update could take anywhere from a few days to a month but I'd love to have it now. I'm gonna be unrooted for a while for a few reasons but I do miss ICS.
I tried doing the *#*#CHECKIN#*#* thing and I didn't really do anything.
Have you tried clearing the data for Google Frameworks Services? That might work; it updated my Xoom from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 a bit early. I flashed the leaked OTA build the day it came out, but I'm interested in finding out when the OTA actually starts rolling out since I've still not heard of 1 single person that has received it. Imma subscribe to this. Let us know when you do get it. Quite honestly, the sdk port builds rather sucked, then 4.0.3 was better, then 4.0.4 IMM26 was pretty good, and NOW IMM76D is flawless! I haven't found ANY errors! The wait is worth it. You'll be surprised just how great it is! Although I hope Sprint isn't lying about pushing the update...
Yeah i haven't seen any confirmation from anyone.

I have had my Atrix 2 8 days past the 30 day mark. And recently the phone has started getting really hot. Not when I am using but when it is just sitting.
I have checked to see what app or process could be running and causing it. And I have found nothing. This is what I have checked so far
Wifi is off
Bluetooth is off
GPS is off
Here are the only things using my power
Cell Standby 33%
Phone Idle 31%
Voice Calls 9%
Motorola Services 4%
Display 4%
And it gets smaller from there. I can set the phone down and walk away and come back to pick it up and it is smokin hot with 40% of the battery drained.
I sent an email to Motorola support on New Years. I have not heard back from them. I also contacted ATT and they want to give me a refurbished phone. Which I have refused due to last phone I did with them. I got a scratched up dented phone in trade for my flawless phone. I told them my phone has been used for 38 days and is flawless I want the same back.
I liked the phone at first but I am about at my wits end. Any ideas what can be causing this?
Hey Motorola Atrix 2 users! It's been a few weeks since my last post here, and my topic is the same as it once was lol
I have a Samsung Infuse 4G, but I want to work with my Dad's Motorola Atrix 2, now rooted, Stock OTA Gingerbread 2.3.6.
After rooting his device, I was able to get him certain little features he really wanted (mobile hotspot, notification toggles, screenshot) without switching his ROM. He ended up not wanting to switch, then lol.
It's his birthday today, though, and he still wants ICS, so I gave this forum a look around and noticed this which, if I understand correctly, will get him onto an ICS leak.
From there, I'd be able to flash SCv7 (the ICS ROM my quick poking around tells me is the most stable right now), right over the leak with no problem, right?
It seems things are a lot more stable for ICS and this device than they were a few weeks ago, and I'd really love to get him onto SCv7 later today (it's about 5:30 AM where I am right now) if possible. Would SCv7 be a good choice as an ICS daily driver with data, wifi, mobile hotspot, GPS, and MMS all functioning? I haven't read anything to the contrary lol.
Also, Is there anyone I can PM while I go through this process? I'm a Samsung guy, so some Motorola aspects of modding are a bit sketchy to me lol
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I'll offer what little I know about the Samsung Infuse (and probably the Samsung Galaxy S series devices, since they're pretty similar) in return if that encourages anyone lol I know I'm asking a lot here, but you guys seem like a really helpful and efficient community!
Thanks a lot!
if you are having AT&T hardware MB865 then the ICS leak will work. (OP suggests that)
and if something goes wrong (most of the time it WONT !) & if u Hardbrick ur fone then pls
dont blame anyone.
talking about SCV7 ... its buttery smooooth u can go for that too
just FOLLOW the STEPS EXACTLY
all the best :fingers-crossed:
Official ICS from Motorola is a few weeks away. Some people have bricked their phones flashing the leak and then reverting back to 2.3.5. Be safe and wait for the phone to update itself via OTA (provided it is on stock 2.3.6) to the final released ICS from Motorola directly.

Definitely not, I would never blame someone else! And I always read each step many times before actually doing it. I've flashed about 4 ROMs on my Infuse and I've never bricked once :fingers-crossed:, same with rooting both devices
So you feel SCv7 is good for GPS, MMS, Data, Wifi, Tethering, and Bluetooth? Thanks again!

The Motorola Feedback Network (MFN) has been recruiting users for the ICS Soak Test. The soak test is the final step before the OTA is released to the public. We are expecting the soak test to start this week. They send the OTA to 1,000 qualified MFN members to make sure the final version of the OTA is stable. If that goes well the OTA goes live two to three weeks later and is usually rolled out over a few weeks so their update servers are not overloaded all at once. When it is ready if the phone is on 2.3.6 stock it will get a notification that the update is ready and to download and install it.

Rayk, check out the thread "Which phone should I buy" in there mr Jim tells us how to get the folks at the ATT store to let us upgrade early. The ATT store totally hooked me up even though I had 11 months to go. This may be a good way for you to get your dad hooked up with much faster equipment. That said I think my new Moto Atrix HD with ICS is going to be very similar to the Atrix 2 ICS. I would bet that benchmark tests would come out equal from what I've seen in some of the ICS threads. The screen is slightly bigger but the battery draw is quite a bit more. With Bluetooth connected, GPS on, connected to LTE tower (using navigation so data is being pulled), and screen on @ 50% brightness it is reading 4330mV in my battery widget by elvision. All that said can someone message me what the atrix 2 (HSPA+ of course) draws under the same conditions? Thanks, Jeff.

I also can attest to the early upgrade with AT&T. I was not due for my 'regular' upgrade, but since I have been with them for so long, a few words to the manager and they hooked me up as well (got the SGS3). So, from a $450 dollar charge for the phone, I walked out only paying $180 for it. It's worth a try, and if nothing else, if you tell them that you are seriously considering switching carriers, they will do most anything for you to keep you as a customer!

Welcome! You will be extremely happy with the phone itself, and the amount of developer it is receiving now that the bootloader is unlocked.
As usual, make sure you back everything up before flashing ROMS and enjoy!
I do have one question, I have rooted my SG3, but left the bootloader unlocked. Should I worry about my IMEI getting corrupted?

I just received mine today and ws thinking to run it stock for a few days to make sure it runs good and this way I cannot blame anything on rooting it.
I remember with the SGS2 on Sprint, after we rooted it it caused a lot of radio issues. Samsung eventually fixed that.
Very hard to hold out though. I do want to run stock Rom rooted as I think it has a lot of cool features. I have been running Jelly Bean on my GNEX for a while now and the 2 things I really liked was Google Now and the new notifications.
I see running CM10 might cause IMEI issues but we can back that up in terminal emulator I see. Once we have that backed up is there anything else one needs to worry about or that is really the only issue that can make our device useless.......
I assume if we stay with TW roms there are no issues with the IMEI? If the IMEI gets messed up, will you know from your data just not working?
I hate getting a device after it has been out a little while! I like to to be there from the beginning and learn with everyone else. Now I feel like I have so much catching up to do!!!
I appreciate everyone's input and help and boy this phone eats my Nexus for lunch, dinner and breakfast!
Im not rooting quite yet...there arent any official ROMs for Jellybean yet...not only that, there are a few things I actually like in Touchwiz surprisingly enough, and yet a few things I dont. I had to replace the launcher(folder system is stupid). I also had to replace the keyboard with the stock Android 4.0 keyboard and the sounds on this phone really annoy me. Anyway, so I guess I am holding out for a good port(or maybe even VZW build) of Touchwiz with JellyBean.
Just a note to you guys with new S3s:
Back your IMEI up!
Seriously. Just do it.
Flashing ANYTHING, be it a TouchWiz ROM or a kernel (even a stock one!) have been reported as having at least one case of IMEI loss.
Just please do it.
From what I understand, with a proper IMEI backup and the right tools (and maybe an LTE SIM reprovisioning) you can restore a device with non-functional CDMA/LTE data/calling.
