It seems I can't find a working download for this app any other place but the marketplace. Since I can't acces the marketplace using my Microsoft Live account (I'm using TG01 with mi7rom_4_8773_final) because I can't get an acctivation code for this device, I'm asking you guys to post me a link where I can download it as a .xap file so that I can deploy it to the phone. Thanks to those that can give me a hand with this

Try to contact Microsoft in order to get an activation code. They didn't said anything after I told them I'm using the TG01. Try the live chat from http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ln=en-us (go to Microsoft Customer Service -> Live Chat)

Ok so they give us a password to connect to the wifi, then from there if you are on a laptop then browser automatically opens and you input a user name and password...this then connects you. I'm not too sure how to do this on my Jasjar, do i manually configure? How? Where do i input username and password because the browser doesnt automatically open for me. We are trying to connect using phones, iphones, and my ppc. How do I connect??
Thanks for reading.
Do you know what kind of authentication used in your school? It's 802.1x? Do you have to install a certificate? Try to find out more information...
Open a good browser(say opera) and try opening any site on it. This is most likely the case. You'll be auto-directed to the page where you can input the user-id and password
I have similar problem.
The VPN solution that is used needs users to authenticate via xauth, which is not supported by WM.
Does anyone have a good proposal for a client to use?
If there's no free solution I don't (really) care about the costs.

@ loiz
Thanks for the links
I tried to find some proper software myself, but apparently i did something really wrong!
The decription of the NCP Tool looks promising, as it should include everything I need. I'll give it a try (could take some days) and tell whether I've been lucky or not...
I downloaded Opera so i will try with that tomorrow...I cant understand German so i cant understand that link and cant download. Will see with Opera anyway, thanks.

You don't need to
First, on the german version of the NCP homepage youget to the downloads by clicking Downloads, then choosing Software, then the Client, that's also named english
If you can't figure out how to set up he account needed in german, just click on the little American flag in the upper right of the screen
It's present on the homepage and the downloads page.
The second link is just an instruction anyway, except for the link to the SecureW2 Client. You should find the (english) homepage of that via google. You don't need to bother downloading that if the authentication method isn't 802.11.
Thanks mate, but I tried with Opera and it works!!! Now to find a way to access msn!!

You can allways use online live messenger http://mobile.live.com/pocketpc/
Been looking for a way to get it to work at college as well.
Have got no idea what do cause we use certificates here, have one on my ppc and installed it (on sd as well as the device).
Got practically everything filled out except when selecting a certificate i get the message that there is none.
Been trying to consult the It-services desk but they have no experience whit this.
Do you have any idea which steps i should take?
Thanks in advance
Online messengers are blocked also, they use some burst filtering software or something, will check to see if i can find an unblocked site. Would be great if there was a way to allow everything. Thanks lads.
Is it still possible to get skype for windows mobile 6.5?
I had it in December 2009, unfortanetly it was deleted after my rom update.
And now it can not be downloaded from de skype site.
Is it possible to download it somewhere else?
According to this, Skype have pulled it for no apparent reason. However, as they say you can still use it for Windows Mobile, it can't be too hard to find the most recent version...
Here - try this.
Just found it by searching XDA, it was on an old HD2 thread (go here if you want to read it).
Search first, ask questions later

Microsoft to acquire Skype
Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities. Microsoft will continue to invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms.

Hi guys,
Was looking for Skype on WM 6.5 (HTC Touch Pro2), but couldn't find a working download link. After searching the web, I found one and thought I'd post a working download...
Step 1: Download the Skype Cab file for version 3.0.0.256 (WM-Skype-3.0.0.256.cab)
Step 2: Transfer this file to your Phone Memory Card.
Step 3: Double click the Cab file to install.
Step 4: Go to the Start Window on your mobile, you will find Skype icon at the end, Try to login. If Skype didn’t accept your password, change the password and login again.
Enjoy Skype on your Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone.
Hi guys,
I got a Windows Phone. I had doubts, I swapped it for an Android. Now I think I might have made the wrong choice! But I don't want to do yet another return without confirming some stuff to myself. My big problem for WP7 was that the maps and Google Chat integration weren't very good. I've downloaded the XAP for Nokia Maps and loaded it into the emulator- it solves most of the complaints I have, so all I have left is GChat.
There's an app called OctroTalk that is apparently way better than IM+- it's free in the marketplace, and I want to try this out in the emulator too. I got Marketplace access by following these instructions:
(removed link because I'm not allowed to post them)
but I can't actually sign in with my Live account. Any ideas why? Or, is there any way to get XAP files from the Marketplace to manually sideload myself?
Found an answer online! Can't post the link, but you can Google for it.
Unfortunately, OctroTalk doesn't seem much better than IM+. Shame.
I need to go find someone to translate some Chinese for me, but this forum thread looks really promising... http://www.darkforcesteam.com.cn/thread-159481-1-1.html. Apparently they have the xap and the license xml files dumped of an engineering/internal/preproduction? HTC 8x. They also mention an xap for USB mode and something about Interop Services....There is an xap on the list called eMMCTool.xap..perhaps we can use that to unlock the bootloader?
Small Update:
I had a friend of mine who can read Chinese try and help me out. Unfortunately, it looks like registration is closed on the site, and I must be logged in to download files and view links. Anyone have an account with the Dark Forces Team?
Edit 2:
I was able to set up a QQ account and log on. I can see the zip file, but I am not allowed to download it between 1-8 (CST) (NOt Central time, CHINA time) Lots of cool screen shots as well as the app to enable DM mode.
Update 3:
I was able to download the first zip, but it is just Windows Phone PowerTools. The same thing you get from http://wptools.codeplex.com/ There is more (the actual xap files, I think), but I can't get access to it unless I post on their forum, but their registration is closed Oh well.
the download link is here http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=306298&uk=3406205643
Thanks! You rock!
Do you need DFT account? I can give you one, just email me [email protected] if you want .Sorry for my bad english.......
Is anyone using this? I am on 30 day trial mode and using an open source map from navigasi.net for indonesia, and it works well. However, I am looking for a way to buy a license to use the app..
Has anyone had a similar issue with me, due to the fact that the only way to buy a license from them is to buy a map (which comes with the needed license). I do not need any maps from navitel since they only sell european maps..
Would I be able to use the license, say if I buy a russian map from their website, and then still use my indonesian map?
note: Mods please move this thread if it is posted on the wrong forum site. cheers
Hey, how did you push the map on your phone? I think it's jailbroken?!?
I also have older maps of african countries which i used with navitel on Windows mobile 6.5. it worked very well on that platform.
Would like to use it again on 7.8 but don't know to apply that maps.
Yes i am using custom rom, latest deepshining 7.8. After u download the app, it tells u that u can put your own map in designated folder (it tells u where exactly, so no guessing ). In your case, as long as ur phone is jailbroken, i am sure u can use ur old files.
Just try it, u can use trial license which gives u 30 days.
Now, back to my question, anyone?
Thanks a lot Joseph, but my Lumia 800 is not jailbroken
