Neither can I find this. Does CMW for miro work on J, since they have very similar hardware?
You can ask the guy that made it for tipo and Miro
All you need to do is provide a bit of info and a couple of files maybe

XPERIA J users please provide us .with ftf file for J and kernel.sin (extract ftf using 7zip)....
Provide us also with everything needed for making CWM.
We root our newer firmwares using older first and then flashing newer and if you do not post it it might be too late (or it is now)

No, I am not developer and I unfortunately can not help making you CWM....
I am just saying you must provide those files in order to get development....
Now ask guy who is making CWM to make you one or something else....

Hi,
Attempts to root with this method (Version 13): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
If you can root you can always try CWM in this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2009300
You have nothing to lose. Methods are safe.
At the beginning I also ventured successfully, thankfully! :victory:

Ya.. Rooting is successful in mine too.. Dats not a problem... But no CWM... without it nothing can be modded! :/

Yes I know, but when there was no CWM for Xperia Miro, I tested the CWM for the Xperia Tipo and had no problems.
It did not work, but no damage the smartphone. It is only a test. Do you think that will affect the equipment?

Thus as has been tested, let's move on to the next phase.
If you can upload kernel.sin, /proc/partitions file and the output of adb shell mount the user srl3gx may be able to help you!!!!
He was the author of CWM for Xperia Miro and Tipo!

I got my Xperia J today, I spent the afternoon transforming the mesona CM10 device folder to a jlo folder. It's building now, it'll take a few hours to build, plus i'm going to a party later so I'll be able to post some more news tomorrow afternoon.
I've not worked on a Sony device before, but as I understand it the recovery (CWM) is built into the boot.img, it is not separate like on most devices. Is this true? Once it has built I should be able to flash the boot.img and I will have recovery?
https://github.com/adfad666/android_device_sony_jlo
Yes CWM is merged in to the boot.img
Or else u won't get recovery cwm is kinda dependant on custom kernels

Tried - get the android magic error
Maybe THIS.
stock jb kernel for j would be better for j when its releast in 1 month
Hi,
apologize me if I write in wrong forum. I'm newbe.
I'm wonderig how to let my xperia sola work as a real smartphone.
- Do I have to install JB (and if yes does someone can drive me? Do I need to root it)
- or do I need a custom ROM? (and wich one)
Any sudgestion will be appreciate.
Renato
You can try the JB update first, if it doesn't meet your expectations you can flash a custom rom
For flashing the JB update search for an .ftf, you can flash it with Flashtool which can be found in every Xperia Development forum

Thank you

In the Xperia forums there are several guides for flashtool. You can just use the search button
For the ftf look in Xperia Sola Android development section

You can't flash the ftp like that...but if you extract the system folder and then copy the meta-inf from any other working ROM,and then zip it,it'll work...
Thank me if I helped you...

Nope....he won't possibly brick his phone...
Because cwm will not execute any zip...it needs to have an updater script to tell it what to do...
Thank me if I helped you...

I think ftf is better! As the SXJ doesntbhave permenant CWM so u'll always need a pc to flash CWM so its betterr to flash the ftf using flashtool.
Hit thanks if i helped you! wont take much time ...
One question! Is it bad to flash the ftf twice a week? Will it affect my xj's hardware ?
Cause i always keep doing expriments on my fne and it easily get bricked!
Thanks for the help in advance!

Won't work since files in the .ftf file are .sin files and not the folders themselves will be cool if it would work though
Nope won't affect the System, in installing the AVD Rom V1.6 update I reflashed 6 Times until I finally got the Rom Working with no errors except for the Themes
Guys, I need help. I need a stock ROM that I can flash through TWRP or CWM and it should contain fotakernel.sin and other files too. I am currently on CyanogenMod LP. I searched everywhere, all I find is ftf files. Please guys, can anybody help me?
