[Q] APN not working properly on CM10 latest stable on nexus I9023 - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
I have installed a clean CM10 on my nexus S I9023. Rest all works fine but my APN settings are not working proper. Firstly I am unable to change to my wanted APN profile. For a workaround I deleted by both APN settings and manuall added the one I wanted to select. It worked fine for 3-4 hours then again my data connection dropped .
I have tried restarting the phone also, still it does not work. But when I do a Reset to default it gets the settings back but the one selecte di snot the one I want to use and again I can't select from the list to the one i want.
Is there any fix for this?

should work once you re input apn settings.....what network are you on ?...also are you leaving the phone after inputting settings,,,,as it may sometimes take a while to register

I've had this problem more than once since I bought the NS. Didn't bother changing the APNs as it was working before.
All I did was restart my phone and it fixed the problem.
I tried entering My apn but nothing works

I've got the same problem: no data connection whatsoever, reboot didn't fix it.
Happened to me once, Reflashing radio or backup didnt help... I ended up doing this.
It may help you
From the dialer, type:
*#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information
scroll to the bottom.
change the GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) to WCDMA only.
Reboot (Had to reboot 2x)
Once data was restored I changed the setting back to GSM/CDMA

[Q] Mobile internet does not work after CM7 Flash

Hi fellas
Upon flashing my G2X with the CM7 nightly build 123 & 124, I've found that mobile internet no longer works.
On the stock 2.3.3 gingerbread rom, it worked - so I can confirm that mobile internet definitely works on my phone, paired with my sim.
And yes I am using the same APN settings as before.
After installing build 124, i bumped into the notorious disappearing APN settings and thus tried flashing build 123.
Build 123 saves the APN setting - but for some reason the mobile internet just doesn't work. The 4G icon at the top doesn't show but i can still send and receive sms and calls etc.
I tried a restore to the stock rom and mobile internet works.
Does anyone have any idea what i should do?
If you do that would be great
(First time android user here - so i may have missing something very simple... so blurt out every possible solution you know)
EDIT: yes i do full wipes before each flash as well as a cache wipe, dalvik wipe and a fix permissions.
Also realised that after turning on airplane mode for a minute and then back off, that the apn setting disappears for build 123 as well.
:/
never mind
got it to work. the solution makes no sense at all and the logic that i placed all my pride upon has been crushed.
If this helps anyone in the future, i may as well post it.
Here are the steps i took.
Connected phone to wifi and downloaded an app called 'APNsBU (ROOT)' (Search for 'apn backup' in marketplace and it should come up on the list)
Then i set some apn's which disappeared and opened APNsBU (ROOT).
Set an apn backup within the app and then press restore (this will reboot your phone)
On reboot i went to the APN list again and found the apn that i had insisted should work.
Went to 'Network operators' and selected a network that it found which somehow registered. (It wasn't even the same network as my sim.. derp)
Searched online for the apn settings on the network that 'somehow registered' and entered them in and saved.
Press the holy green dot for the new apn setting.
?
Profit

next time ask in the ROM's Thread.
but as far as i know it does not. im using build 31 and its working fine.
try pulling out the battery for a few seconds then putting it back in and booting up.
Same here...data working fine in aokp.
Forgot to mention that there is an issue with data dropping in ALL 4.04 ROMs, including other phones.

The issue behind this here is that for whatever reason, the APN settings always seem to get lost. Sometimes the actually load properly and boom data. Then perhaps you leave wifi on and then most (at least all of the ICS roms I've used) drop the APN.The APN is what handles the data verification.
EDIT: As of recently, I have discovered that data is working fairly well on AOKP. I just reset the APN under its menu, then rebooted. Make sure you're running the correct RIL; it does help. Besides that, I've found that fix permission sometimes screws with APN recovery. So fix permissions, reset APN, and enjoy data coming back.

[Q] Network issues on CM9/CM10

I haven't had any luck searching for answers in the forums, so here goes.
Current Setup:
- Unlocked SGH-I727
- Kernel, 3.0.49-KingKangersOne.12-g590eeda-dirty
- ROM, CM 10.0.0
- CMR v6.0.1.4
A couple of months ago I flashed CM9 and everything worked pretty well. Stable CM10 came out so I flashed it. I noticed the network was significantly more sluggish than on CM9.
Using Speed Test on CM9 before this mess I was getting < 30ms ping, 5+M Down, 2+M Up. On CM10 it's now >250ms ping, 8k down (not a typo), and about 250k up.
I played around with the network settings, making sure they were correct for my carrier. Nothing I did seemed to fix the problem. So, I wiped data/factory, cache and davlik, and then restored my CM9 backup. It came back up like everything was fine, except the network issues now were happening on this version, too.
Flash forward. I've tried reinstalling CM10 again, this time from scratch after wiping everything and formatting /system. Twice with a reboot in between. I even flashed an updated kernel for JB (listed above. It used to be 3.0.49 cyanogenmod kernel blinky-ghost when I was running CM9). I still get the network issues. I'm on a 4g/LTE network (ATT via Straight Talk) and am using all the right settings on the ST support site.
One thing I've noticed on both of CM9 and CM10 now is that I can't change the Network Mode setting. It's set to GSM/WCDMA. If I try to set it to LTE/GSM/WCDMA it just switches back to GSM/WCDMA.
Oh, I also deleted other APNs that I wasn't using. The only one I have is the one configured for Straight Talk.
So there it is. Anyone have any suggestions? Are there bad config files somewhere I can delete?

[Completed] Suddenly non-functioning data connection on Sprint (Ting) LG G2

I'm running EuphoriaOS (Euphoria-OS-1.1-ls980-OFFICIAL-20150622), which is a custom Lollipop rom. It's been working ok so far up until a few days ago, when my data connection just suddenly broke. Granted, the 4G/LTE wasn't functional before either, but I use wifi a lot and 3G is tolerable. But now I get nothing. Texting and calling are fine, though. I've had to mess with flashing APNs separately to get any cellular functionality before, but reflashing that to fix this new issue hasn't worked. I've googled how to fix this for hours, and I've tried pretty much every "fix" out on the internets. Still... nothing works. When I try to add APNs through the phone settings menu, it says "APN settings are not available for this user." I can tap the 3-dot icon and add the APNs and then tap Save, but the new APNs (or any existing APNs in system\etc\apns-conf.xml) are visible in the APNs settings menu. I tried resetting to default. I tried wiping cache. Tried reflashing the rom. You name it, I tried it. I guess the only thing left is to flash a stock rom and update prl and whatnot. That's a ton of hassle, and I don't even know if that'll work. I could only find stock kitkat roms too... would fixing data on a KK stock rom even do anything?
Help! Thanks in advance!
