Noob Question. Flashing and recovering - General Questions and Answers

Im quite new to android, and would like to ask a question.
If I flash a ROM, and then recover from the backup I created earlier on the Stock, will I get the Stock ROM again? Or do I have to download it and flash again?

You got it. Wish it was harder but its' that easy. You can find the stock unrooted version in the dev forum. Happy rooting.
Thanks!

[Q] If i flash backwards and forwards???

Is it possible for me to flash a 2.2.2 rom when i am on 2.3.3 ? is that bad at all???? and can i restore back up??
Don't worry. It won't ruin anything. As long as you have Clockwork Recovery, you should be fine. Be sure to NANDROID first though!

CWM Question

Hey guys, so I have a question for all you that flash lots of roms.
I am currently using StockRom, but I would like to try Sky-ICS.
However, I have my current rom setup exactly how I like it, so if I do a backup through CWM or the backup manager app, and I don't like Sky-ICS, will restoring my rom bring everything back exactly how it was? Or will I have to re do my settings, and re download my apps?
It will be just like it was when you left if. That's one of the beauties of the backup. That and it can save your butt.

[Q] Please Help

Hey im new to atrix 2 because i had nexus one and samsung infuse in the past and there flashing instructions where easy but for me this seams complicated. So far i rooted my Atrix 2 and ive installed bootstrap. MY goal is to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584505 but im not sure what to do because i was reading different threads and some people say you need cwm on boot others say you do some other stuff.... Can someone expierienced give me step by step instructions of what to do next thank you.
Sonya comes with cwm on boot. Just download the zip and extract it to the cwm folder on your sd card, then do a full wipe, and then restore it.

Every time you reboot it automatically goes into cwm.

Then to get into rom all you have to do is press reboot from the recovery?
Yes. We don't have a way to actually flash an alternate recovery image, so doing it this way helps prevent softbricks.

[Q] How to factory reset phone (rommed/rooted)

i just got the S4 and am looking to give my S3 to a family member. Id like to get the phone back to the latest stock firmware that's unrooted. whats the easiest way going about this? thanks
Odin back to stock VRBLK3 or earlier stock OS and let the phone take the updates. Don't forget to wipe the internal SD, just delete everything on it. You can find the files you need in one of the threads
