Officially? Next to zero.
Unofficially? Maybe, from what I recall XOOM 2 has recovery now days. All it really needs is someone to develop for the ROM.
Motorola is the worse brand ive seen...
Worse than Apple!!
Even Sony is less grueling
Just today i've seen they even made an site for you be able to unlock your bootloader(for my Sony tipo phone)
But motorola, they fu.ck it all!!

Is my Motorola Xoom Supported?
Hello, i am getting a motorola xoom 32GB wifi only UK model for christmas. Being me, im not planning to stay on stock for very long, in fact more like 10 mins
However, i have one bugging question before im confident enough to apply a rom and unlock the Bootloader.
Will my Xoom (being a UK model) support Tiamats roms? Ive heard conflicting reports saying yeah because its the same hardware and no because of the model, but i just need 1 definite anwser from a user whos tryed.
If its no, then will i have to get a US firmware for it? Is it even possible?
I have experience in android hacking and have done so with my Sony ericsson Xperia x10.
Thank you in advance for spending the time to write a post.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
ROM: FXP CM7.2
Bootloader status : UNLOCKED
Recovery: CWM
Is there a guide explaining some major terms?
like:
ROM
SBF
OTA
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
ROOT
FLASHED phone/tablet
Its simple but useful..
In my case, i have an XOOM 2, there are forums talking about download an default SBF from different country's to be able to update it
i.e: My SBF is from Brazil, which doesn't have update from HC to ICS yet, so i take an SBF from europe and its done!
BUT!
I have questions about it, like if i can extract my custom "SBF" so i can use as backup later(in case of warranty issues).. Every time a new term is introduced on the discussions and this is driving me crazy(ps: pharse learned watching american movies)
But i dont know exactly what SBF is, i dont know if it is simple ROM, so i would like to see the differences!!!!
There are tutorials saying how to extract the ROM from the device, but how do i know if it will extract the CALLED "SBF" THING....
Just an example!! but i have man other doubts which an guide would help me!(and others i believe)
thanks!

Well simple answer is, runandhide recently found an exploit to load recovery for the XOOM 2. In fact only a few months ago. XOOM 2 isn't all that popular due to the fact it comes with a locked bootloader while the original XOOM is unlocked. There is really no point going with the XOOM 2 due to the fact it's basically the same hardware but more light weighted.
Hey guys so I just bought this tablet today just started reading the forums and I'm looking for some guidance. Here's a few quick questions maybe someone could he kind to help.
1. I just but this today with a 2 year in store warranty would rooting this device break that warrenty ?
2. Will rooting help in any way with performace ? Or any other issues I might not know about ? It's charging haven't played around yet.
3. I believe the tablet will ask me to update the fireware as in store demo was asking should I avoid accepting this update ? Will it affect me in any way when I try to root ?
Any other tips or guidance is welcome I'm currently reading and trying to catch up on the forums but don't want to do anything stupid since I'll still getting caught up. Thanks!

It won't break your warranty as you can revert to stock. With root you can do some things that will help, but if you want a very stable and smooth tablet I rate you to unlock your bootloader. But this will break your warranty unless you bought the tablet inside the UE. In this case, you can unlock the bootloader legally, but you would have to fight with the Asus support if you want any help from them.
I rate you not to upgrade if you want to use Nvflash. Nvflash is a backup of your tablet's system that allows you to recover it even if you bricked it. For rooting the best method work with upgraded device but you better Nvflash your device if you want to unlock the bootloader. You need to have a bootloader under the .26 upgrade.

I'm using Validus 5.02. Will 5.1 or beyond ever happen?
I guess is pretty dead, but maybe someone build, I heard before some ideas for 5.1

Yah i would think development is dead as well, but i wish we could just get one more update to 5.1. I would put up 50 bucks if it would help or even matter. I just cant stand the thought of not having a keyboard phone. Plus this one has had such a good run.
