Ok so I'm a bit obsessed with wallapapers, and I've found a lot that I like but many are for the iPhone. When I go to set them as my wallpaper I can only set them as a widescreen even if the wallpaper scrolling is off. Does anyone know how to change this, while still allowing me to go back and forth from the setting?

...no one ever answers me
I would like to know as well. It's kinda annoying that it forces you to crop a section out.
You could try to resize the pic on ur pc then reinstall on the device?

No matter what size the photo is you always have to crop it with the widescreen size (or whatever you want to call it). I was looking online and it says you need to change the API but that sounds way to complicated for me and it also sounds like its difficult to change back.
Ps- thanks for posting, I was feeling a bit lonely haha

hopefully this will solve everyones problems:
Download Dodol Wallpaper Maker from the Market and it should size up any image to your screen. All my wallpapers are iphone ones

no problem, glad it worked for you!
Thanks!! Was looking for something like this.
Very cute, so many choices. Thanks you
I have been looking for a way to edit already made live wallpapers. All I want to do is use the HTC LWP with the floating colored circles and edit it to be slightly darker. That way my phone screen can stay a little brighter but the LWP running in the back is slightly dim.
Thanks for any info.
Anyone?

Id really love to see that
Bump... Any one have a clue? At least for the tint of the colors or something simple like that?

I'm not really sure, but u can use apk manager to decompile the app. The only problem is that u would have to do that manually.

Can someone please identify the widgets that I circled in red on this screen shot? I found the screen shot on an CM7 theme, and I have searched everywhere for it, so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Bottom weather widget is definitely Beautiful Widgets.
I'm going with minimalistic text for the top one

OK, y'all were right, the top one is minimalistic and the bottom one is beautiful widgets. one more question, anyone know how to make that horizontal line that separates them? lol
Maybe this line is on the wallpaper?
can somebody explain this wallpaper deal on the 1X, i find a cool one that according to specs has the correct size. save it to the phone --then i either add it as wallpaper via the Gallery or Personalize and it shows me the wallpaper, with a green square on it that i can slightly enlarge but still it only uses about a third of the entire image, on top of that.. quite a few look like crap (to put it blunt), very pixelated.. what am i missing here.
(related, yesterday i found how to have a different wallpaper on the lock screen but can;t find the setting anymore...)
Use quickpic from the market.

uhm... not quite the explanation i was hoping for ;] will this app allow me to set larger wallpapers ? someone else say it may be a Sense "feature".
Gotta use an app like the one above to make full res wallpapers. I think dodol wallpaper from the marketplace also works.

The "green square" just shows where the home screen will be. Sense has scrolling wallpaper, so you will still see the area to the left and right of the green square as you scroll left and right n sense.

understood, but it also cuts of the top and bottom while i used the right resolution which then makes (if it has something on the image...) pixelated, someone said it may just be Sense who causes that. i find it odd, i download the exact size and have to cut pieces.

Do not ask a question without first making peace with yourself and knowing what you are looking for. If you want to fix that, use quickpic app from the market. Of not, good luck making your own gallery app

You do realise you can expand the green box and stretch it to the top and bottom of the image?

yes, i can resize but only so far, and the green box resizes proportional.
Guys, don't be so quick to jump on the op. Its pretty clear what he's trying to say. I know because I experienced it. I'm gonna take a guess and say ur using stock ROM? I had the same problem when I was in stock ROM, he green square only stretches so far, it does not encompass the entire image, therefore the image it sets as your wallpaper becomes stretched and therefore pixelated. I also tried to find ways around this op but I couldn't find any, well that is until I flashed another ROM. I can't quite remember I it worked when I ran cleanrom, but any aosp ROM will work like aokp and cm9/10. With these ROMs the green square stretches out to encompass the full image therefore giving you the right resolution for ur home screen. Other than that I know of no way around the problem. Flash an aosp ROM op, you will thank me for it later

The green box isn't supposed to stretch across the whole image. The green box represent one Sense tab, ie the homescreen. The area ot the left and right of the green box is still part of the wallpaper, when you scroll left and right through the Sense tabs.
I don't see the problem here?

Well, just like Sense it shows a square which limits the use of the entire image, is that hard to.comprehend ?

Download picspeed wallpaper and try that out. It gives you different crop options, including non scrolling wallpaper.

i was using the clock lock-screen, to be able to use a different wallpaper on the lock-screen you must choose "wallpaper" instead of the clock lock screen.. can't have both i guess (#unrooted)
Myself I find pics in range of 1280x1440, that gives nice clear picture viewable over several scrolling screens.
Of course, Ymmv.

I have a question, now that the wallpaper isn't scrollable like in ICS, how are you suppose to crop a picture to use as a wallpaper? Just like the old one, or you could crop the picture that will fit the entire home screen? And can someone post a screenshot on how do you crop a picture to be used as a wallpaper? Thanks in advance!

That's what i wanted to know. Because on ICS, you can't use a 960x540p picture because of the wallpaper scrolling. Is it possible now with JB?

Well, you could always try until you find the right size. Not exactly hard nor very time consuming.

Sir, could you attach a screenshot where you crop a picture to be used as a wallpaper? I mean, does it always have to be 960x540 so that it will perfectly fit the entire homescreen without missing a single portion of the picture?
