Hi
Any website that shows todays / this weeks new app releases?
Thanks
Search for * and then order by date.
I saw this on another forum, haven't played much with it but it looks interesting.

McAkins Online and WinappUppdate are the best. Doing a search in store with "*" does not produce accurate results . these websites vary in counts because there is a lot involved in trying to get an accurate number.

New in the Android Market is an App called Tesco Locator. Shows your nearest stores by distance (By GPS, or search for other city), with opening hours, store facilities & maps and directions.
Please download, and let me know what you think. New features coming soon.
Just too good app. Don't know how I managed without it so far... Keep up the good work!
Cheers / Raj
Thanks Raj,
There will be a minor update this weekend, and hopefully some added functionality before the end of April. We're actively looking for ways to improve the app, so if there's anything you'd like to see, we're open to suggestions!
If people could add ratings on the market as well it would be much appreciated!
Change it to Supermarket Locator and add Asda, Sainsburys etc into the mix
Now that would be a nice app lol

For some reason, I can no longer to my online shopping from my N1. I've tried it from a variety of different ROM's and even got others to try too... it would appear Tesco is blocking us? The page just wont load, although the exact same url loads fine on my PC.
So, make this app so it works in conjunction with their online delivery ordering and it would be a winner. Scan a products barcode and then press 'add to shopping list' would make this an awesome app.
I e-mailed all the major online grocery shops a month or so ago, no-one was interested in an Android app and it almost makes me angry. Everyone loves the iPhone, but give it a couple more months and Android will be the dominant online mobile device (right now it's actually almost even!)
**Double post**
Thanks for all of your feedback.
In response to the Supermarket Locator, this is something we are currently looking into as a possibility. It has always been on our agenda to open this project up to the other supermarkets, and hopefully we can make this happen in the not too distant future.
AndyCr15 - That's definitely something which is being actively pursued. We have a few ideas for future development of the Tesco specific app, and we are investigating the best way to get the information and functionality onto the Android platform. Product searching is a mammoth area, so I cant promise anything immediately, but it is happening!
There will be another release in the next couple of weeks, with a new feature or two, and some code fixes for efficiency, and hopefully we'll be able to release regular updates and new features.
Hi there,
is it possible to get the application outside the UK? I live in Germany and it doesn't show up on the market (Android 2.1/ Samsung Galaxy Spica/ Portal). I will be coming to the Uk shortly and I just wanted to give it a test.
Cheers, Patrick
Hi,
At the moment our Locator is only for UK stores, and as such we've limited it's availability to the UK. We didn't really envisage a need for it to be included in other markets!
The GPS based location finder wouldn't be very useful from abroad, but there is a text search field as well, so I'm sure it will be of some use. Will you have a data plan or WiFi access whilst in the UK, as this is necessary to obtain the store details and maps etc.
Could you send an email to [email protected], so that if we dont choose to open it up to other markets, I can at least give you the apk to install?
Whats the source of the gps data for this?
Only asking because I normally use google maps for this sort of thing, but their data is imprecise and can be quite a way off.
I was looking for a B&Q the other day and maps showed a cluster of three - none of which were located correctly, satelite view and streetview confirmed this.
If your data source is better than google's you could be onto a winner.
BTW I just checked my local tesco in gmaps and its about 400metres off, in the wrong road in somebodies back garden!
I would guess he's used Google's data. Do you really think he's been able to go round to thousands of Tesco's to check? I could be wrong of course
Hi guys, pjmurphy123 is away this weekend but I also developed the app with him.
I can confirm that the locations (latitude and longitude) of the stores are supplied by Tesco along with the actual address, postcode and phone number if available.
This should result in our app providing you with more accurate results than using google maps.
Hope this helps

Okay, cool I wonder where Google Maps get there location data from then?
Just to let any followers of this thread know, that we have released an update for this app over the weekend, allowing the scanning and storing of your Tesco Clubcard, which can then be scanned by till operatives direct from your phone.
I hope that this feature adds some value to the app for a few people. There are some other features which will hopefully be available to be released in the next week or so, so keep your eyes open for that.
If you do find the app useful, please can you add some ratings or feedback on the Android Market.
New version uploaded allowing shortcut to Clubcard to be placed on to Android home screen.
Thinking of adding in shopping list functionality next.
Interested in peoples thoughts/feature requests
Hey guys,
I'm not the dev for this one, but it seems like an interesting app to show application analytics from data available in the developer console.
Would be interested to know who's using it/how accurate people are finding it.

It literally uses your developer console it just hides that via page scraping. Its pretty slick though, however, it does have some draw backs such as you can only see comments in your language, right now it has issues seeing more than 9 apps according to the comments, and if you want to track comparisons between your app and apps from other developers this has no way to provide that for you.
Overall its definitely a solid app right now.

It does more than simply screen scrape the developer console. It saves HISTORICAL data. That means it shows you day on day changes in downloads, ratings, and active installs.
Anyway, it's working well for me, and highlighted that someone has spammed my app with 20 1 Star ratings in a single day!
Well yes but thats not how it works thats just what it does with the data after its retrieved. Sorry for the confusion. ;-)
Get notified on every sale via Google Payment/Wallet for your apps or games!
(Sorry about posting here, all other apps are dead, mine is the only working one!)
New Google Payments Page is NOW supported (formerly Google Wallet/Checkout)!
Get notified on new sales from Google publisher/developer page.
Check out your application sales or other products. Trends, pie chart, daily/weekly/monthly summary and much more!
You can filter your results by product, date and country.
These filters can be combined in the diagrammes and order overview!
You have to login with your Google account.
Hint: The initial loading could take some minutes (depending of your order count)!
Further updates fetch only new orders and are very fast. Maybe you have to click manually on the top refresh button for the first time.
Functions:
■ Chronological overview of your sells order by product
■ Pie chart: Sales by products
■ Pie chart: Sales by country
■ Pie chart: Status of sales
■ Bar chart: Sales per weekday
■ Bar chart: Sales per hour
■ New Homescreen widget (> Android 3.x) for today sales added (works also for lockscreen!)
Old merchant accounts are also supported.
Thanks devs for your good feedback!

Guys,
I'm looking for a good 'Word' game for the TF.
Not one like Scrabble or where you have to re-arrange a group of letters to form as many words as you can.
No, what I'm trying to find is one where you are first presented with a collection of letters in a large block and you then have to tap on each letter to form a word. You are then given a score for either the length of the word or the type of letters used.
As you tap away and a word is formed, the remaining letters above drop down the screen to replace the ones you have used and are then replaced with new ones from the top... if you get my drift.
I don't like timer's as I like to take my time, pause if I want or come back to a previously saved game.
It's a bit of an ask but can anyone recommend such a game?
You're describing the Dropwords game almost exactly (it does have a timer).
There are free and paid versions on the Android market:

Regards,
Eric
Perfect Eric... Nice one.
When you said it had a timer I very nearly gave up on it as I don't like timers, I like to take my time and save so I can come back later.
However, because you took the effort to post I should take the effort in trying it out.
I'm very pleased I did because on loading I immediately noticed you can select a variety of speeds for the timer..... including a 'non-timer'.
Also, you can save the game and return later.
Perfect Eric..... perfect.
Good suggestion....it's a lot of fun...but it's not optimized for tablets...it would be even better then.
@Beards,
You're welcome. It's one of my favorites.
You actually helped me out - I never bothered to check out the timer options.
Thanks!
@rpavich,
It may not be optimized for tablets, but it works great full-screen on my Transformer.
Some time ago, I was also looking for a similar game (on a different OS). So much so that I made my own, which seems to fit your criteria. The name is Wordsler and is available in the Android Market (I don't have 8 posts here, and apparently not allowed to place a direct link yet).
It's got a non-timer mode, a 2 minute timer mode, and an online mode (where everyone gets the same sets of letters within a 24 hour period).
This is just a spare-time hobby, and I'm not great with graphics, so it's nothing fancy or shiny, but I think the gameplay works quite well.

For anyone else, here's a direct link to the game Silkswift mentions.
I had a quick look at the two pictures shown of the game on The Market. It wasn't much to go on but I downloaded and installed.
Unfortunately as soon as I went to run Wordsler it then asked me to download two sets of libraries.
Nothing is mentioned on either The Market or your developers Web Site of these libraries being required so to anyone not knowing what these are or what they do, I think most people will then do as I did which was to close the App down and uninstall.
If Wordsler is going to need additional files to run you do need to let the downloader know in advance and explain why they are needed and what happens when they are run.
HI Beards, thanks for checking it out. My apologies for not mentioning the additional libraries here. The description in the market does mention them at the beginning (with a few stars for emphasis), but it probably could use a better explanation. The extra libraries are part of the android-qt project (port of Qt apps to android).

Yes, going back to The Market I see you have now added the information on the libraries required. You also now mention it may be better to install over Wifi.
This is a good call and another reason why you needed to mention the additional libraries in The Market link.
It would also be good if you stated the actual size of the additional download. That way the installer knows full well what to expect, which in turn makes for a happier user of the software.
Although I don't think it is what I am looking for (I prefer a much larger rectangular block of letters with actions similar to that of Dropwords).
However, I'll give it a try for you. Will report back later... have a very busy day ahead.

Good game dude, i'll rate it on my computer since we can yet on market. Like said previous, you have a lot of extra sceen, so bigger blocks would be great. It would also be nice to have "Validate" button up with the words, and maybe a "Clear all" for quickly deselecting all, but that doesn't really matter. Thanks for the free DL!

Coruscate Software is a new software development company. We have created an Android app that keeps track of your gas mileage data. It records and graphs various data related to your car such as the miles per gallon, the cost per gallon, or the cost per mile. The application is FREE on Google Play. You can find the application by entering in the search terms of "CSGasMileage" or "Coruscate Software". Being a new member of the community we cannot post a link directly there, so you will have to search for it. We would greatly appreciate it if you or anyone you know would test the application and let us know what you think!
Thanks,
Coruscate Software
I made a spreadsheet years ago that I still use for exactly this... I will probably check this out.
Linked to Play Store.
Testing this on a Motorola Photon 4G (actually the 3G equivalent, but I figure I'll call it by the more popular model's name).
I've been meaning to set this up in QuickOffice, but your app makes it look real easy to do. I use QuickOffice for exactly one other thing, and I've been meaning to make an Android app for it. (Just a redundant data entry task at work. Nothing I'd publish on Google Play. Wouldn't even share with coworkers -- I'm the only one with an Android phone.)
First thing I noticed... We need an option for 85 octane.
Thank you all for your feedback! We have added 85 octane as a selectable fuel grade. It will be available in the next release, which we plan to have out within a week. Also planned to make the next release is the ability to select a gas station via geo-location.
@Kevets: Thanks for posting the link!
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I wanted to know:
- For a few days published my first app and I notice that appears very unlikely in the search results of Google Play. Do you know by chance what are the variables that influence the search order of the app? More Apps by typing a few letters to them in the results, my (like many others) you have to type in the full name.
thanks
