[Q] Custom auto brightness setting?

I want to use auto brightness, but the auto brightness on this phone set the screen too dim most of the time.
When I was using Cyanogenmod 7 on my HTC Desire, the rom allows one to customize the auto brightness settings (light sensor threshold, screen brightness at each level etc.) Is there any app on the market that can do the same thing?
I have the same problem. But I want it to be darker. Does anybody know how to adjust the auto brightness?
Pull down the notification window. Click quick settings and you will see it right there

That's not what I'm looking for. I want automatic adjustment but not so bright as it is now.
Just want to add myself as another user who is in need of this feature. I can code, but I have no mobile dev experience/patience
Just to be clear, you want a manual auto-brightness setting? Just use a ROM that includes manual brightness in the notification bar.

Yes, that's right. I`m using LeeDroid and that rom doesn't have that option.
Nobody knows?
Maybe here is the start... I have not used it.

I would say what's needed is more like the ability to add or subtract brightness values from what the phone thinks the screen brightness should be.
So say the phone decides 70% is the right brightness, but you think actually it's brighter than it needs to be, you can set to always subtract 20% etc.
Conversely if you think the screen is always too dark, you can set it to always add 20% etc.
Would be a handy app to have.
Not sure why the custom auto brighness app needs to know where you are or have full internet access though...
Doesnt CM7 have this feature?

Adjust relative level with auto brightness turned on

In my rooted S4 with Xposed Wanam, there is an option "Use auto brightness details". This allows user to adjust auto brightness to a level that's desirable.
In my S6 with root, is there a way to make this function available?
Thanks

Any way to disable the Auto Dim (adaptive brightness) feature?

I know they mean well, but I do not like being forced to use the new Adaptive Brightness (aka Auto Dim) feature and I cannot find a method to disable it.
I keep my display on a low brightness setting, usually a 3 or 4. When the Adaptive Brightness kicks in, the screen is too dim. The only way I can find to "correct" this is to set the brightness higher, much higher. A counter productive solution.
Is there another way to turn off, or disable this unwanted feature?

tasker or similar app for s3?

is there a way to schedule certain settings to be applied during specified hours?
for instance wake up gesture would be nice to be disabled at night, brightness and sounds set to lower level etc etc.

May have found a solution for screen flickering at lower brightness

There is this app, which I do not own or have any affiliations with, that acts sort of like a filter that lowers the screen brightness instead of actually lowering it. I haven't really tested it fully, but it works perfectly on my s7 Edge.
And the best part is: there is no root required
All you have to do is to install the app, go to Settings - Accessibilty - Installed services - screen dimmer, and turn it on.
Just make sure that your actual brightness is at 100%, and you can change the brightness within the app, or with the shortcut in the notification bar.
Here is a link to the app:
