So I have a major problem. I am on beans 4 And have data but no call or text. The signal shows fill. And all the settings have my imei in tact and cell service state says in service. Any ideas?

You could download the phone info app from the play store and go into phone in for and make sure the drop down is set to LTE/CDMA/EvDO, or LTE/CDMA.
If that doesn't work, it may need to be reprovisioned.

My replacement S3 had the same problem. Spent over 4 hours on the phone with multiple reps and tried 2 different sim cards. We came to the conclusion that its a radio defect and I got another replacement overnighted to me, you should too.
Great. Thus will be fifth s3 from Verizon. .. I am not allowed to use insurance for another year. .. I had a couple stolen sans some doa. Thanks guys

If you go to settings-about phone-status... What does it say on your ERI?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Reprovision your phone. It may help. There's a dialer code that I can't remember at the moment, but you can Google it.

Eri version 5... I can receive texts. And cannot send them. I am a little afraid to reprovision. Kids there a chance I will lose my data and everything of I reprohision... also will I needed to be on stock recovery for this?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
thats what it should be. so everything sounds in tack. i say reprovision. even after i lost my imei and eri, i had to restore them both, still nothing. then reprovisioned and was fine.
I had the same problem. No calls or text. Verizon put in a ticket for me. But I decided to restore my IMEI even though it wasn't missing. It fixed the problem. Phone works fine now.
I fixed this problem

I had this exact problem. Did a re-provision and it fixed.
To re-provision type: *2767*3855# in dialer. When you press the # it immediately goes to reformat with no popup, so be aware before you go in. That's the only other suggestion I would have as far as possible data issues, I know mine is normal (and I'm in a slightly fringe 4G area - they are still testing the towers here, they aren't official yet)

This started happening 3 days ago.. My gf had to call me 8 times last night before she got through to my phone.. I don't know wtf is causing this but i'm pretty sure its not the phone or ROM. Also at times incoming texts come in late.. My apn is set correctly.. Any help would be appreciated

When I'm blocking someone its on purpose and I use call master. If there is a problem with connectivity I can reset the radio layer or reset the telephony service. This might be an idea just to have the ability reset the radios at different levels in order to clarify the problem
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
How do I reset the radio? And I do not have anyone blocked or call forwarding enabled
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I use a call blocking app like call master or root call blocker. It allows in the setting to reset the radios individually.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Believe it or not removing the sim sometimes works as it registers/unregisters you from the network.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Just flashed stock radio and same issue.. Tried the Sim card removal twice last night too
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
edit----if nothing else helps try reflashing. If that doesn't work get new sim(no charge if you say it is defective ) make sure your reflash stock rom.
If that doesn't work, send in for trade under one year warrenty.

Thx but could it be a Rogers issue? Also is there a stock ROM that will get rid of clockworkrecovery?

are u in Canada or on rogers network? Did you flash an ATT from?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yes im in canada on rogers network (rogers is only in canada) I flashed sky coke rom, before that was on quickwiz which i had no issues with
maybe that ROM had trouble with Rogers network. I would contact the developer and seek some sort of resolution
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Went back to a rogers based rom and same ****... which leads me to believe it aint the ROM or the phone.. ****
Is it prepaid? I know sometimes prepaid have issues
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
No its a monthly plan. I called up rogers tech support and he had me change the network mode to gsm only and he tried calling and it went through, then hspa and same thing with data on.. went to gsm/hspa/lte auto and with data on the call went through fine.. as soon as I got off the phone, I tried calling my number and calls stopped going.. (put it back to gsm only and it started working even with data on, but when its on LTE with data on is when it starts screwing up) does that mean when its connecting to an lte tower its messing up? Is that my phone's issue or the towers? Is there anything I can flash to the phone to see if the problem goes away.. already flashed stock radio but didnt help
Same issue here. Att user. Sky ics rom.

any fix??? it just started happening like four days ago and never had this issue before.
This is a known issue, at least in Canada with Rogers. It has nothing to do with what rom or Kernel you are using.
It appears that Rogers is having intermittent issues with the LTE network. It comes from the handoff between LTE and 4g when a voice call is received. After you hang up, you are supposed to go back to LTE automatically. But with this glitch sometimes the phone will get stuck and as a result you get no texts and calls going straight to voicemail.
You could try creating a new APN node for 3g/4g only and using that to see if it solves your problem while Rogers is actually becoming aware of the issue and fixing it.

Last night alone it took 40 minutes for a text from my wife's phone to arrive. And that was only because I turned my phone on and wifi kicked on!
Thank you for your response. So they are aware of this issue? Also, what should the settings be for a new APN?

So my GS3 on Verizon is rooted running latest clean rom. I flew to Chicago and all of a sudden, i cant make or receive calls, I can receive text but can't send, and i have fast 4G data... What's the deal? It's been a day I thought maybe it was confused with towers. I called Verizon yesterday and it was no help at all. Right now I'm stuck using Google voice for texting and Skype for calling. Any help would be great!

You can try flashing back to stock using section 5 in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709. After that if your phone still won't connect you can try putting in this dialer code:*2767*3855#
This will of course totally wipe your phone and everything on it, but should restore service.

Isn't that only if the IMEI is removed? I still have hat and have service... I just don't want to try all that if it's unnecessary
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Those directions won't work if your IMEI was lost. There is a different thread for that in the development section. The directions I gave should restore your service. You could try different fixes like flashing a different modem in recovery, but it sounds like it's not a modem issue since you have data. You could try doing a factory reset, clearing cache and dalvik and reflashing the ROM in recovery first. If you have any nandroid backups where you had service you could try restoring to a backup.
Alright, I looked over the instructions and decided to just try re flashing modem... It worked! Thanks for the jump start in the thought process... It was tough without a phone on vacation

So should I try the step 5? Will it be difficult to re root? I really don't understand this issue... I mean it literally worked to make a phone call and text, then it did not work.... Any quick fix would be greatly appreciated!!
Could this be a bad sim?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Could be a bad sim. It won't be difficult to reroot at all. That guide I linked to has instructions. I would go ahead and try flashing back to complete stock using section 5 and using the dialer code I gave above if it isn't fixed right away when you flash. If that doesn't fix it, then it probably is a bad sim.
Odined back to stock and made 2 phone calls... Working on rerooting, damn thing tried to update! I went back to ICS for ease of reroot. Thanks for the help!!
Wow! And we're back to not working this morning... did the re provisioning, still not working! Call Verizon, they try to repeat the troubleshooting... Tell me it can't be a bad sim card and that maybe it's the network... I'M IN CHICAGO! I think there'd be more complaints.... Anyways, do you think I could go to a store and get them to trade me a SIM card?? Oddly enough, my lockscreen says "roaming" even after all this provisioning...
People have gotten newer sim cards for much more trivial problems than yours, you should be able to get one. I wouldn't really know much else to do besides just getting a replacement phone.
Well, just an update... Got a new sim card, still didn't work. They're sending me a replacement phone
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well that should finally fix it. These phones seem to have a mind of their own with each one having its own little quirks. I guess it must be the different hardware types or manufacturers. Who knows. Hope the next one serves you better.
I'm not sure really what's going on... I recently came to az from ohio and somewhere through texas this popped up. I can't get rid of it nor do I know if it's the rom or my phone. I reflashed rls 13 and it's still there. I can't respond to texts or make calls. HELP
Maybe try pulling the sim for thirty seconds them replacing it. This would update your PRL which allows you to connect to any new towers in your area.
Alternatively, did you lose your IMEI? It's in Settings/About Phone/Status. Do not post the numbers but it should be fifteen digits long (maybe 14 on Synergy). If that's significantly changed then you may need to Odin flash VRALF2 or VRALG1 and input the dialer code to reprovision your sim.

I just got my phone back from mobiletechvideos JTAG service. Since then, my phone struggles to hold WiFi and 3g. It very rarely pulls 4g. I have tried a factory reset. Also restored my IMEI backup just in case. I have an extra micro sim arriving today. I'm just wondering if I could be missing something simple or is my phone royally screwed?

I did take the phone apart and found that the WiFi connection was loose. I corrected that. I started the phone back up and held the Sim card down in the slot while booting and the phone miraculously got 41asu.....for about 5 minutes and now its holding at a steady 2asu. So, would there definitely be something wrong with the Sim card? Or could the Sim port be going as well? Is there a way to test the Sim connectivity in the phone settings?

The lower the asu the better, in contrast to a higher dbm is a better signal.
2 asu is a pretty strong signal, you should be around -80 dbm.
Edit; Nevermind I mixed it up, a higher asu is better. I still think it's radio related though, but changing your sim card is an easy potential fix.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Well....sim card didn't work. Next I'm going to Odin back to pure stock and see if that helps. I'm starting to think it may be something in the NV items or hardware related. Hope I'm wrong though.

Hi David,
Often times when devices become bricked, it results in your NV items being damaged and causes this problem. Here is a guide that highlights this issue, and will tell you how to remedy the situation.

ugh. I really dont want to go messing around with the NV items if that is the case. Im in the process of flashing with ODIN now. I'll update if that works or not.
What is your IEM Showing?
If its been erased, then ODIN to stock firmware probably won;t fix that,
but, have you check your mobile network setting to see if you are on the correct network?
If you are with Verizon it should be set to CDMA, not GSM.

Software is not intermittent. Hardware can be. You may have a broken or loose antenna cable or connector inside the phone.

my s2 is having the same problem as yours .. but when i went in and check the string, it seems to be okay .they are both connected .. but after rebooting i still get the same signal as before .. why?
please help me
Please help me out here - I'm not new to flashing ROMs but this is new to me.
I was on Dirty Unicorns 4.3 AOSP ROM. All was great until I turned off mobile data to save battery. Upon turning back on, I was only in 3g. I switched my network over to LTE/CDMA/3vdo, and LTE came back. All was fine again until later that day.
Suddenly I couldn't make a call, or send a text. This has been like this for hours now. My IMEI is not zero, so that isn't the issue. What else could be the issue? I try calling someone and it says no mobile network available. However I just received a text and also I can use mobile internet just fine.
I've also tried restoring to a previous ROM and that didn't work. What gives?

Just some more details...
My IMEI is fine.
My network is on "LTE/CDMA/evdo"
I do NOT have roaming bars.
My mobile network comes in and out randomly. If it's showing bars, my calls get stuck at "dialing" and never go through. If I don't have bars, it just said "mobile network not available."
My phone number shows up fine in the "about phone" section.
Every thread I see for fixing this is slightly different - I have my IMEI and I have no roaming signal... so I don't want to follow instructions for a different issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Makes sense to me. Had the classic signs. When in doubt call Verizon. The first message will be that they are having problems in your area.
