Nexus 4 Nillkin case - Nexus 4 Accessories

I bought one of these for my dad's One S and it is one of the most minimal and good looking cases I've ever used. The textured back is brilliant and feels great but the top and bottom edges aren't protected that well.
Still for £5.25 you can't go wrong.

Thanks! I'll purchase this and use it along with a pouch to make up for the minimal top & bottom protection. Looks really slick though. Is there a video review?

Nillkin is awesome. Is this the real deal ?

I've had a look on youtube and this is the closest I could find https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJpy_f2OoLU but those are all smooth backed where as this has a textured back which I prefer because you can't see scratches on it and feels better imo.

The seller states "100% Nillkin Original Genuine New & Retail Box IN STOCK" and is pretty high rated so I just took their word and ordered it.
This is the official nillkin page: http://www.nillkin.com/english/proshow.asp?mid=2&sid=0&tid=0&cid=1&scid=13&id=2960&page=1

Ordered one myself, looks really good quality. Bunch of people selling them on eBay for $7 or so which is good

Thats an awesome case, but i hate it when they leave the top and bottom unprotected. Thats why ive gone tpu.
Might give it a try in future though.

Looks great but the cases ship from China and take 3 weeks to arrive according to the expected delivery times.

As long as it takes to deliver the Nexus 4
LOL

Looks nice but it also looks like this case does not protect the top and bottom edges of the phone at all!

Ordered from HK as they seems to ship a couple of days sooner for 5p more!

Ordered 2 from http://www.ebay.ca/itm/330828468690#ht_4799wt_1271, hope they fit well!! They look really slick. I like the texture and the minimal look.

The top and bottom doesn't bother me. I prefer to use my phones naked but feel like I need some protection for the back of the N4. I ordered a Ringke slim case and now this. I'll probably pick up an inexpensive TPU case as well and be set
Now if only I could get my phone

That is a nice looking case! As others have stated though, they should have put a few pennies more of plastic to cover the two most prone areas to drop damage aside from the corner! I'm a big fan of the silicone + hard cover combo cases like Otterbox and Casemate make and have been waiting for one of them to put out a case, but it's taking too long and this is a case I'd consider IF it had covered the top/bottom
Still leaning towards the bumper... but this is pretty close to what I'd want!

I had this case for my 4X HD, top notch. They feel great in hand as well. Excellent quality.

Just ordered a black one on Ebay for $8.99 that says it will arrive between Dec 6th and the 14th. I was debating on whether or not to get white or black but in the end the best shipping time was by a seller only offering black. Not a big deal I guess.

Ordered a red one from this,
few cents cheaper and it's from Hong Kong which should have better shipping than China

woot, thanks to you i ordered one too. everyone i saw at first said dec 14th - jan 1st. i was like screw that lol. but after your post i looked harder and found one that should arrive between dec 7th and dec 13th. buyin cases is like shoes, gotta have a few!

I was going to get the brown case until somebody mentioned that the top and the bottom aren't covered. I've been waiting for a brown or green cover for the longest time, but none of the TPU covers have these covers.

Case Mate selling their Tough cases for $9.99

Guys,
I'm a HUGE fan of Case Mate and their Tough Cases. Myself use one, recommended atleast 8 friends I know who are either using a Desire HD, Nexus One or an iPhone 4 and they all have Case Mate's toughcase
They retail at $29.99, but looks like there is a sale going on - All Tough Cases selling for $9.99 (free standard shipping in the US)
You might want to check it out here
I recommend the Blue and Black or the Green and Black
Great case. I had one that I sold with my original N1. Looks like they're temporarily out of stock now though
just buy the 2 pieces separate. same price.

Thanks for the heads up! Any problem with lint on the silicon?

These remain out of stock. Some of the skins can be bought separately, but the shells aren't back yet.
Yeah, still out of stock.
I was considering giving it a try.
Just spoke with a Case-Mate representative over the phone and was told that the Nexus One Tough Case is now discontinued and they do not have any more in stock. All they have left are the soft silicone inner skins that pair with the outer shell.
Kind of sad that a great phone that really isn't that old at all is already pretty tough to find good accessories for.
I think about using a case like that for my N1. at the moment i am using the original nexus one case. but of course, it is not very safe compared to this case.
I broke down and bought one of these cases on Amazon because I was unable to find one elsewhere. No one carries them and as my last post stated, they're discontinued by the manufacturer. Received the case yesterday and all I can say is that if you're on the fence about getting one, DO IT. The case fits PERFECTLY and feels very high quality. It doesn't gather an excessive amount of lint, and even comes with a nice microfiber cloth and clear screen protector. I already dropped the phone once today and the case did an absolutely beautiful job protecting the phone. Really too bad these aren't being made anymore.
My only complaint about this case is the soft silicon skin under the trackball gets loose quickly. It still stays on, but doesn't look or feel as good.
Well just placed my order with amazon, problem is they wont ship to NZ so have a mate over in the US that comes back in a week or so, getting it sent to him and then he will bring it back
Well damn, looks like I got one just in time at the beginning of January! And it's a really great case. I sure feel like my Nexus One is safe in there.

Slim case

I love the design of this phone so I want the slimmest possible case I can find. Can anyone recommend a very slim case?
same as you, didn't really want to cover it up too much since the design is so nice. I went with this and I think it will be a good match. I have the white phone so I ordered the white case:
http://www.obostore.com/nillkin-ultra-slim-hard-shield-faceplate-for-htc-one-x-p-5711.html
lots of folks recommended this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007X4XS3C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I ordered it and it will be here Tuesday
You could get the official ones by HTC. They take minimalism to a whole new level bit the downside is its so expensive for a flimy piece of plastic. Or the feather cases by Incipio.

i ordered the black & gray ROCK cases and the case mate barely there case. the ROCK cases look nice but are definitely made for the International X. although they fit the One XL, the camera opening is about1-2 mm lower at the top. not a big issue for me at all. however, the case-mate fits perfectly and looks best! i like how the sides are angled for a perfect fit, e.g., fits the One XL's angled sides like a glove. the obvious downside is the limited protection, e.g., exposed top and bottom.
i sold both ROCK cases to a friend who has the International X and kept the case-mate. i added a couple of pics that (hopefully) show how slim and form-fitting the case-mate case is...
im going with the amzer tpu luxe arigle case had it with captivate and like it and did its job and looks good

I got this Speck case from the AT&T store when I bought my phone. I hated it in 2 days. It's way too thick, makes the phone huge and heavy.

I liked the case for the whole 5 seconds it lasted me
Funny part is that I was planning on spray painting it black cos that case only comes in orange/blue. And while i was taking the case off it snapped on me. Good thing is AT&T warranties out accessories for a whole year. I have a feeling im going to be using that warranty a lot.
You get what you ask for looking for a slim case. They don't offer any protection at all. Which for me is fine. I just don't like how hot the phone gets without a case. I ended up getting the full body zagg.

i broke my orange version of this case too. if you like to swap out cases every other day (like me) this case may not be for you because you will eventually break it, no doubt about it. i've been luckier with my blue case as it hasn't snapped on me yet.
Just ordered an Amzer Shellster case found here:
http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-AMZ9380...PA1Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338902558&sr=8-1
It's not the most "minimalist" case out there but it seems sturdy enough for repeated application and removal (which is important to me since I use multiple cases). It also comes with a holster, which most slim cases do not. It also looks like it offers great protection for the camera.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMdD2Q35_XA
I'll put up some pics and do a "mini-review" if anyone is interested.
So the case-mate barely there doesn't specify on amazon whether its for the international or att version. However I have heard that it fits ours just fine. Can anyone verify?
And also does it come with a screen protector?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Received my Amzer Shellster yesterday. I can confirm that it fits the AT&T version of the HOX.
Pros
Accurate Fit
Cutouts line up perfectly
Protects camera
Front lip keeps screen from touching when face down
Comes with a holster
Cons
Minamilistic case means it provides less protection than traditional cases
Does not cover top and bottom
Soft touch finish can be a little slippery
While the holster uses "pressure" to hold the phone it does not have an actual mechanism to secure it
Overall, the case is really nice for what it's meant to do. It is advertised as a slim case and it provides all the protection that it entails.
I have included some pics in the attachments showing the cutouts and fit, as well as the holster and front lip.
I got the case mate barely there. Overall I really like it, I wish it was a little thicker because the camera still sticks out a little.

We don't recommend the Ultra Thin Air with the AT&T version as this case was originally designed for the international version. The AT&T version of the phone is slightly longer. While the case my be compatible, it may not be a perfect fit."

http://www.amazon.com/iPhone-Retail...-9&keywords=KaysCase+Slim+Soft+Gel+Cover+Case
Here's a review that is relevant for us from the iPhone variant. The price is just a dollar now with 4 dollars for shipping.
"The seller was one of the first to offer an iPhone 5 case, a full week before the iPhone 5 launch. They ran a promotion for about 85% off their regular price, and they promised launch-day delivery (Sep. 21), which I was very skeptical about. However, lo-and-behold, a few hours after UPS dropped off my iPhone 5, USPS had delivered my KaysCase"
I'm pretty excited about this!!
Very nice, its a shame about the 17th as the release date though. I will probably get the soft and hard cases.
This looks pretty good. I really want one as soon as I get my phone though and ordering this to the UK will take some time.

Anyone gotten the frosted clear one? I can read on amazon that it's getting good reviews...but I'm curious if it really it soft and if you can see the back's design through the frosted clear. Also, if the words "kay case" is really on it (one review says it is one doesn't). Curious.

I have a case for my Ipod touch that has 2 parts. You sort of stretch this rubber case over and then a hard plastic fits over that. It really provides amazing drop protection because the rubber absorbs the shock and the plastic absorbs the impact.
For now I have ordered a few really cheap tpu cases but I am hoping for one of these. I will serif I can find the manufacturer of these hard soft cases and I will exit this post. These would really be the way to go if possible.

I received my smoke KayCase a few days ago. It's a nice looking case but trying to press the power button is a nightmare. I've considered using a razor blade or xacto knife to cut the case away from the power button as someone else said they did in the Amazon comments but my craft skills are nearly non-existent. I've written to them using Amazon's feedback mechanism so we'll see what happens.
In the meantime I've ordered the Diztronic and should have it Wednesday.
how slippery is the back of this case? I want a gel case that will not easily slide on a table/flat surface.

Diztronic vs Rearth Ringke Case?

I have Skinomi skin protector on with Ringke. The top-left corner is a little too tight and it pushes the skin protector up a bit. Regardless, I still love the case a lot.
Anyone have any thoughts on Nillkin vs Ringke vs Diztronic?
Have 2 Ringkes and a black Diztronic, of the 3, the white Ringke is by far my favourite. The Diztronic is nice, too but I find it takes away from the visual clean lines of the Nexy where as the Ringkes are so minimal, you don't notice it. Will likely be selling the Dizt shortly.

Of the Ringkes, I have one black and one white. I pondered on the grey as well but did't want to buy too many. The white is simply stunning.
Ringke All the Way!!!
I have both and I'd have to say Ringke is the best of the two. I especially like it because of how clean it is, looking that is. Keeps the phone looking very sleek.
Also, Rearth Ringke has very good customer service. At least with me they have. I pre-ordered the original one, and it had the slight manufacturer defect. I just e-mailed them through amazon asking for a replacement, not a refund. They had the revised edition in my mailbox on December 12th, day after they started shipping. They didn't charge me a dime, and even told me to keep the defected one and how to 'bend' it to correct it. I only sent a single e-mail, and they honored their product. Don't really see that much for accessory providers, at least in my experience.
Edit:
I have an xoskin on my phone with this case, and it doesn't mess with the screen protector at all. The xoskin is actually the best screen protector I've bought so far. I doesn't even feel like it's there. Smooth glossy/glass like movement when swiping.

Cut corners as....? The Slim Rearth case looks exactly the same on the S3. it's their newer model of their cases whereas GN had everything covered on the sides.
Definitely not junk, I prefer the new style over the old. But the old one provides more protection, the new one i like the material of it a lot more.

[Review] Poetic Borderline (Bumper) Case

Hey guys.
Received my Poetic bumper case today and I'm really enjoying it. Currently I have 3 cases, the official bumper case, the rearth ringke and the poetic borderline (aka bumper).
So far I really like this case, and in a TL;DR version, I think I'm going to use this case over the other two. The reason I like this case it that it shows off the unique Nexus 4 backplate while still offering some degree of protection. You'll see in the photos below that there is a small, yet noticeable raise on the sides of the case to prevent the phone from coming into contact with any flat object. I think I'll be choosing this case over the official bumper because this bumper case a slimmer profile and adds less bulk. My first impression with the official case is that it made the phone harder to hold (for me personally).
The covers for the buttons work well and I enjoy the feel of the case overall. The price I got this for (right around $6) and the quality make this case feel like a total steal.

Take a look at the pictures and let me know if you have question. Hope this helps, cheers.
Come on man! We already have an entire thread dedicated to this case... With a bunch of pictures. No need to create a new thread. lol
Thanks for the review bud. Mine should be coming in soon.
I'll add that to my collection
Thanks for your review. I ordered this case and it shipped, but I haven't received it yet. Now I can't wait! I have the official bumper too and I'm now glad I ordered this one too.

Poetic bumper thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024884
Should post your review there
I just received mine yesterday, and today i realized it was uneven, it turns out there is a rip on the top left corner, i don't how it happened or what caused it, because i didn't drop it or anything. I contacted costumer service and waiting for a reply. But I really do like the look and feel of this case

The flash on my camera made the gray look lighter than it normally appears. I honestly don't mind it, and if you're in a financial position to be able to gamble $9 I would say try it out.

I already bought it, $9 isn't a problem. Just prefer the black/black color setup.
I've taken a look at numerous amounts of pictures. It looks good, just wish grey was black but we'll see how this turns out. Only because I want to show off the back
Got mine today. It really is very nice. I actually like it more than the official bumper. It's very nice, slimmer and doesn't have the double bezel like the official bumper. Also, it didn't lift up my best skins ever back protector or screen protector.

Just ordered my poetic bumper off ebay and now I'm looking to get a full body XO skin. Could anyone suggest either the regular XO cut or the case cut?
Does it make the phone less slippery? My other cases are not good for wireless charging
And in 2-4 weeks you'll all be signing a different tune when it starts peeling apart. It's a good case until then though. I had two that both starting falling apart so I got my money back and went with the official bumper.
That looks even bigger than Google's bumper. And I couldn't use one without some back protection. I love my Fosmon(?) TPU case.
