[Q] What can I do with a non-HD RAZR MAXX? - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a feeling that the devices are too different, but what tips/mods/operations can I find here that will work with my non-HD RAZR MAXX? Can I follow the instructions to unlock the bootloader and root the device? Is there any chance I can do frequency or voltage mods? I'm about to get my first true smartphone.
Thanks!

You should check the RAZR/RAZR Maxx section of the forum. None of the methods here should work on your phone.

I'm sorry, I didn't see that section when I searched for "razr". Thanks for the response.

Yeah, I'm sorry, I'm not seeing a "RAZR/RAZR Maxx" section of the forums. The only section I see is for the Maxx HD.
Can ya' help an old, apparently blind guy with a link?
Thanks

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1360 <- I got it by putting "razr" in the "find your device" field at the top.
Cheers!

Thanks. I just went to the main forum page and looked for RAZR - no joy.

[Q] SBF for MZ600

Does anyone have a working link to the SBF file for the Verizon Motorola Xoom (3G only)? All of the links I have found are dead. Thanks to everyone here for all the great work you do for XDA!

Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. I've been pretty inactive on here. Try this: www<dot>mediafire<dot>com<slash?download<slash>hvn8jrm6e77gzw6<slash>HRI66.zip
Sorry for the stupidly formatted link, I'm still a n00b as far as XDA is concerned since I haven't posted much
Found a bunch of sbf files here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/everest/list.php
Not sure if what you want is there

ICS to JB Rooted

I'm rooted on 6.16.211 XT912 4.0.4
Trying to find the right link to switch from ICS to JB, but there seems to be so many different versions/links and I cannot determine which is the correct one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You are in the wrong forum. This is the XT925 or XT926 (ie the Razr HD or HD Maxx) forum.

Sorry buddy, but one: You're in the wrong forum. This is the Razr /Razr Maxx HD forum for XT925 and XT926 devices.
Second: The Razri does not have a bootloader unlocking exploit yet. For now, your best bet is to wait, and hope that someone releases an exploit.
You CAN root it though. Just follow this link, provided by mattlgroff in a previous thread, I'm not sure if it still works though.

Hi, you need to ask for new forums in this thread.

tottaly confused factory unlocked verizon Moto x 2ng Gen on 5.0

Hi
So, I am not the biggest rooter on earth, but I rooted my Note 2 so there may be hope.
So here my setup.
Brand new Moto x on Verizon, bought from Moto, unlocked (I believe)
Updated to 5.0
Some of the programs I use need root. I searched and looked, and I am not sure where I am stranded but I am more confused then I feel I should be.
Am I maybe rooted already ex factory?
How can I find out if or if not I am?
As you can see I am really confused...
Thanks
Post in the correct form for your phone, and maybe even look there. That'd be my first step anyway. Odds are, you're not going to find what you need anyway as Lollipop is much more difficult to root, and most 2nd gen Moto Xs can't be unlocked
Sent from my Moto X
I must be blind, I planned to stick this threat into development.
But, I found quite some info about root for the Moto X for other versions of the phone, so why would it be impossible?
If you have a Verizon Moto X, you're plain outta luck. It's that simple. You cannot unlock your bootloader.
This thread shouldn't be in any development forum, it should be in Q&A. Second, you're posting in the 1st gen Moto X forums, not the 2nd gen forums, which are separate as they are two different devices.

Even if you say it twice, and I say twice I posted in the wrong section, you are still right and I am still blind.....
