I have moved everything and anything to my SD CARD but still it needs more memory or space or ??
SO does anyone know how to increase the size of space so i can install more programs on my phone
I am using Android 2.3.5 and my SD Card is 32Gb

Have you tried to root it and see if app 2 sd will work? It will get you more room either search for an app2sd script to run in script manager or use link 2 sd app from the market

Many thanks for your response
If i buy a phone one has 4Gb ROM and the other has 8Gb rom
I presume i buy the bigger 8Gb ROM phone. Is ROM where all the programs are stored?? SO i can install more programs without running into "out of space message"

Well you can always press the thanks button bud
If by rom you mean ram then no this is only the virtual memory
If by rom you mean internal storage or nand than yes it will help
Or just use an ext 4 partition on sd card and one of my previous suggestions to increase you internal memory

[Q]Move app to sd-ext

Sorry for this noob question... Previously owned galaxy ace. Recently bought HTC Sensation....!!
Rom: ARHD
How to create sd partition and move app to sd-ext..?? Any suggested tutorials..??
Excited .. My first post in XDA.. Hopefully not my last
Just a comment:
1GB of internal storage is usually enough even if you have a lot of apps. I, for example, have ~55 apps installed and I still have 600mb of free space.
Partitioning your card and using an ext partition as internal memory is not that good because: it will damage the card in time (continuous read-write on SD) and it's recommended you have at least a good class 6 card because the read/write speeds of your stock 8gb SD are way slower than the speeds of the internal flash memory.
Did you really run out of internal momeory on your Sensation?

Hi
Let android do it for you.
Go to settings/ apps/ all, and click on the app you want to move.
There will be an option to "move to sd card"

Wait a second, you didn't know you can move the apps to sd?
Anyway, moving an app to sd using android's app to sd is different than using a partition on your sd as internal memory.

hi
I've got a problem almost in the same category
my phone is sensation xe with beats audio runnicing ICS with sense 3.6
Problem in short : I can't move any app to my sd card !!!
I've tried the offecial built in feature of moving apps to sd card but every time I do i get the message " can't move app "
I've also tried a third party app like "Apps2sd" but the same problem exists.
any ideas what could be the probem and what solutions can be applied
yes,are you rooted?? If not their are LIMITATIONS on which apps can be moved and which can't. Unless your rooted you have to obide to these limits. Now if your rooted its a different story, you SHOULD be able to move just about ANY app you want! Of course you want to be careful what you move because it can interfere with things like moving widjets to SD will sometimes cause them not to work. But you can easily move them back when you want to use them. Hope this helped!

If you have root, run
Code:

And more apps will magically have the ability to move to your SD card.

My Galaxy Grand has 8gb memory of which only 4gb is available to the user and I am left with just 800mb space left, I would like to know if anyone of you can let me know a way to transfer my apps to sd card, also I have hears that one can convert sd card to internal memory after rooting, is that possible, if yes then plese let me know how, also is it possible to transfer apps to sd card without rooting if so plsase let me know how, I would be eagerly looking for a reply.

I'm not really familiar with that device but on most you can grab App2Sd from Google Play and it's self explanatory from there, but some devices (like mine) don't et you move apps to the SD Card, but you can move everything else there
And I'm no moderator, but I'm not so sure this isn't the right section for your question, I think it belongs in Q and A

After rooting you can use Directory Bind to link your internal/external storage, but that's not truly moving them to the SD Card, but I think it's the closest you can get. I don't bother with it, I just move all my big files to my SD Card so I have space for my APK's on my internal storage

without rooting u cant have memory swap..root ur grand and install init.d support. and reboot then install this http://d-h.st/AGR and gain reboot. this will convert external memory to internal and internal to external automatically.
use http://galaxygrandcenter.blogspot.in/2013/03/warning-it-will-void-your-warranty-and.html to root.
and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39510406&postcount=1 to add init.d

Thank you sir for the help, I have succesfully rooted my phone throught that guide, though there was a little trouble geeting the Clock Work Mode Recovery but finally got it.
Sir can you tell me the actual usage of CWM, can i get backup of my present status through this mode or do i need to use some app like Titanium Backup pro for that purpose and what info would actually be backed up, like would it store info of the present firmware and is the backup point created in the internal memory or the sd card.
Also sir can you please tell me that if I swap my 32gb ext sd card with 4gb internal memory then when I want to get my phone back to normal mode then how am I gonna do so, I mean the sd card would have let's say some 25gb apps and I want to put the phone back to normal, I mean unswap it then how would it be possible as my internal memory would be only 4 gb, will I have to delete apps or use some recovery option, please make that clear, thank you sir for all your help.

[Q] move/run/install apps on sd galaxy tab 2 7.0

I am really new at this. I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) on it. I have successfully rooted it but am having issues with trying to run/install/move apps to sd card. I have tried many apps and they all seem to do one of two things. Either they just bring me back to the settings for the OS and applications where there is no move button or they "move" it right back onto the internal sd. I tried partitioning my sd card into 2 partitions (24 and 8) the 24 being Fat32 and the 8 being ext2 and using link2sd app. That gives me an error saying it cant run script and to try using fat32 for second partition. That also gives me an error which doesn't give any suggestions. I am really frustrated. I bought a 8 gig Galaxy tab 2 cause I was told at the store you could put apps on the sd which is obviously wrong. After the OS files and bloatware my 8 gigs is down to like 4.something... when some apps (like sims free play and asphalt7 are over a gig each that does not leave much room for apps. What is the best way to accomplish this?

The usable space for data is 4.59 I think ext 2 isn't really compatible with most kernels nowadays. Format the second part as ext 4. I did 4 gigs and that's good enough for two roms using kk's next dual boot. But I don't play many games on my tab 2 either.

I recently updated my Tab 2 7 to 4.2.2 stock
Under Settings> Application Manager
Tap on the application you wish to move.
Provided it is not a system app, you will see in the "Storage" info box a button labelled "Move to SD card".
It works for me

Im facing the same issue, but at the first time I was able to install link2sd and link all my games to the ext4 part in my memory card, but after a reboot (I was moving some updates to system rom via Titanium Backup) I noticed my games were not there, so I tried to reinstall the mounts scripts but the error message says: mount script cannot be created.
Can someone help to solve this issue?
I already have tried some tricks I found here in the forums without luck
Thanks

External SD card problem

Hello! I think that needs another topic.
A small question about the problem with SD card on the p5100.
As of 4.1 or 4.2 google has introduced the 'cool' feature - multi-profile system.
Okay, everything is good, but with this 'cool' feature they have changed something with SD cards. Now internal memory is divided to the internal memory and internal SD-card which is considered as an external SD card. All apps are installed there, and my external SD card (32 gb) is now useless. Ofc, I can explore it on a file explorer, but the system thinks it is the second SD card and don't want to move any apps there.
And that's the problem. All apps are instaled on the internal-external SD card and the free-space is.. You know.
I can't update my apps, I can't download new apps - no memory alert.
Cyanogenmod nightly 10.2
So, is there any way to fix it, like Samsung has done to SGS3?
It's getting everything out of me.
On my phone everything is ok, but on the tablet.. :/
And please don't say google it.
I'm searching for this fix for.. months. Can't find anything so posted here.

Already tried.
"App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your Device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card.
That's the problem.
Apps are already installed on the SD card but the wrong one.
Anyway, the emulated SD card has 10 GB free space, the 'proper' SD card has 25GB free.
When I try to update something on G Play, or install any app from my explorer - error, no enough free space.
Oh come on.
i.imgur.com/hWzliZS.png
Where is that "no enough free space"?
For a 200 KB update?!
/edit:
And I think that 'canceling the emulation' of the internal SD card will do a lot for me.. But how. :/

I don't see any app called 'root & clean master'. Anyway can't install any app because I 'don't have enough space'.
Check your internal memory using a pc and see exactly what you have stored there. Over 10GB should be enough for a 200KB update. I suspect something is wrong with your tablet.
Anyway, hard reseted. You can close the topic.

I just got a p3110 last week and have this same issue, Its only a 8gb and I want to install apps to the sd and it will not, did you fix yours? how?
You cannot move or install apps to the external sd card. Only the internal storage. There are methods if you are rooted. Read down the forum topics. There are a few threads discussing this. But stock tablets do not install apps to the external sd card.

Install link2sd
Create a new ext3 partition of desired size in ur external sd using mini partition tool.
Then use this partition to move all your apps using link2sd...
I had done this procedure in my old galaxy y because it had very less internal storage....
I haven't checked it on my tab though... but why don't u give it a try...

[Q] Unlocking and Rooting

Hello,
I am from India and I just happened to read this thread. I have a few questions and I appreciate If you could answer them.
I purchased a new nexus 5 32 GB. Now, I am afraid to do rooting as it could void my warranty.
I would like to know how to install apps to the external storage. Since Nexus 5 comes without an sd card(sealed sd card). How do I access this sd card, becuase If I install any app. It just installs(currently, it tells 350mb and 26 GB free). Now, is this telling me that 350 MB is being used on sd card.
Secondly, where can I check the amount of RAM being used ?
Regards,
Avi
If you don't want to root, don't. As for your other question, I don't understand... There is no external storage. Unless you get an otg like meneevo but you can't install apps to that. Everything runs off the internal. 32 GB should be more than enough unless you install like 1000 apps...

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. But I still have some doubts.
If I install any app from play store, By default, where it will install, in the internal 32 GB Memory or on the 2GB RAM ?
Because, my intention is that whatever apps I install, It should by default install in the 32GB internal storage and not on the 2GB RAM. How to do this ? If any screenshot helps, please let me know.

Apps will only install on the phones memory and never the RAM. RAM means how many apps you can have open on the phone at one time (multitask). For example you can have Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Browser, etc all open at one time without the phone crashing or running sluggish. RAM is basically the towing capacity of a pick up truck.
The phone memory is basically a car trunk filled with groceries (data, pictures, videos, apps, etc). The larger the car trunk, the more groceries you can put in it before you run out of storage and have to put it in the back seat/front seat (external SD or OTG).
In short, you have 32gb and all your apps will be downloaded ONLY to the 32gb.

Hello,
If it is that all the apps will be downloaded to 32 GB internal memory, then why would anybody use link2sd apps, because the main intention is that nothing goes to phone memory(2 GB) and all of them goes to 32gb internal memory. I believe that link2sd apps is probably not for nexus 5 phone at all and only for other smart phones.
One thing, I would like to tell is that I downloaded the link2sd app(hoping that this could increase the phone performance). Here, when I launch the app, for few apps, it tells that the app can be moved and tells that symbolic link is not found ? Does this make all sense what I am saying ?
What is your take on this ?

Link2sd is not for our phone. Its for phones that support external SD. We have internal SD and no external SD (micro SD slot)! Delete Link2sd and enjoy your phone. Don't worry about storage space. You should have more than enough storage space unless you download a lot of songs, movies etc. I have over 200 songs on my phone and I have a lot of storage left! I have the 32gb model also.

Unlocking and Rooting
Hello,
Thanks for all the reply. All my answers are answered pretty well.
What I understand is unlocking and rooting is required only when custom roms and link2sd need to be installed, As far as Nexus 5 is concerned, would unlocking and rooting help as already I am running kitkat 4.4 latest build.
Also, I have some queries related to apps, would you mind If I post it here or I should create a different post.
Regards,

You cannot use link2sd as there's no sd slot so no, root will not help.

There is much more than link2sd which requires root, link2sd is used on phones with almost very less internal memory so no use on nexus 5..….if u are newbie just keep ur phone stock and read and carefully understand about rooting and unlocking from xda and later you can try them
