[Q] Theming stock Touchwiz? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to theme stock touchwiz jellybean?
I would like to theme it to look a bit less messy, and to have more of an aosp look.
What I would like to change the most is the status/navigation bar and all the icons in it,
and if possible the cascaded windows and their title bar's height and width.
Can I use zip themer or metamorph?
BTW I am using Team Unions ROM v2 I believe it is deodexed.

Try a different launcher like Apex or Nova. I am using Apex and using a theme. I am on Team Union as well.

I have already switched launchers, what I'm trying to do is not theme the launcher.
I'm already done with that.
what I'm trying to do is theme the navigation bar and everything in it.

Ice Cream Sandwich and Go Launcher

I want to use Go Launcher on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but I love the default ICS theme. But the reason for me wanting to use Go Launcher is the added functionalty and widgets, however, is it not possible to keep the ICS design intact? I've tried some of the ICS Go Themes, but they're not good enough/close enough to the real ICS. Is there any themes out there for Go Launcher that actually is 100% the same as the default ICS? Or is it stupid to use a ICS theme for an already Android 4 mobile?
I guess you should just use go launcher with any theme you like, dude, you already have ICS!!! You dont need theme.

Apex, Trebuchet, Nova or Holo?

What ICS launcher are you all using/which do you prefer? I tried out Nova and Apex for a little bit, and I have to say that I prefer Apex.

Isn't apex just for ics? Or is it usable with cm9 and aokp?

They both are very good I usually use apex but I'm on nova cuz of the folder icon called platform and its more stable for me anyway but apex has themes out now also

I used Nova for a long time on my Nexus S. It's nice and customizable. It did lag on me but very rarely. It also looks higher quality than any other in my opinion.
Now i use the stock ICS Launcher.
trebuchet.
I'm using APEX, and it's been working fine for me.

Anyone know the least demanding of these choices, RAM wise?

Probably trebuchet since it's got the least features of them all. It comes by default on aokp.

Whoops I meant default for cm9.
I like Holo a lot. Seems to be a good mixture of features and mem size. Haven't tried out Apex though.
Nova FTW!

Trebuchet is so smooth.
I tried nova but so many things require you to purchase the full version. I prefer apex its damn near the same as adw ex.
I'm using Apex right now - I decided to simplify the phone a bit and use something other than GO Launcher for a while. I'm liking Apex quite a bit so far - smooth and light, and with just enough customization options in the free version.

And you can use your go themes on apex.
Trebucket and then Apex
I'm using apex now

use Holo, simple, easy backup and restore across GB, CM7 and CM9 roms
I feel Apex is easiest to use with most free features, while Nova just provides a better feel.

[HELP] Stock launcher ICS

Somebody has the stock launcher of ics (CM9) to post for me??
Thanks
Wrong Section.

Wrong section ...but you can look for "holo launcher" from google play.

Holo Launcher is not really optimized for tablets. App drawer icons looks disgusting. I too would want an ICS Launcher that is optimized for the tab, or even the stock TW Launcher modded for greater performance. Go HD is fast but looks kind of ugly.
Sorry guys...Any Mod can move this topic?
And, about the laucher...I already try the Holo Launcher, but it is not costumized for tablets...
Any alternatives???
Thanks for all...
I have the same problem. I use golauncherhd, but I also think ugly and TW is slow.

About cm7 themes

Hi
I recently got Cm7 on my phone
and I was going to install themes and a few questions came up =P
which device cm7 themes are compatible with out LG g2x??
or
Can I just download any themes from any device forums?? Thank you
I recommend you just search "cm7 themes" on the playstore. TONS of sweet free ones. And you can also search for ADW launcher themes if you are using a cm7 rom with adequate baked in.
G2x-temasek CM7 build135.4 w/faux 054 kernel
As far as I know CM7 themes are compatible with any device running CM7. Only thing is HDPI themes will not work on MDPI phones unless you change the density of your screen beforehand. But in the case of the G2X, which is HDPI, all themes for HDPI or below will work.
Just make sure you do a back up before applying a new theme, just in case something goes wrong.
Also FYI I'm using cyanorangen theme by Mr DSL which is just awesome.
Hope this helps.
Ok thanks alot
Do I applied Lgui theme from o2x forum but only my icons change
I thought my whole launcher has to change?

Have you rebooted your phone after installation ? You need to reboot it in order for all the changes to apply. Then your icons, keyboard, statusbar and some other things should be themed.
By the way if you have launcher pro you have to manually change the icons in dock bar by long pressing the icons.
Yup I did reboot right after choosing it as a theme from theme manager
But it looks like the picture (dock didnt change)
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
That might be because of your launcher. You should try to change the dock icons manually if you're able to. To make sure this is due to your launcher you could go back to ADW to see if the icons changed. For that go to Settings -> applications -> your launcher and clear the default actions. When you press Home button choose ADW.
Hmmm I went back on ADW and now it looks like the first picture
So is it impossible to get theme like 2nd picture ? Or am I doing someyhing wrong
P.S Thank you for helping me

No problem, but I don't quite get what you'd like to achieve exactly. You want your homescreen to look like the theme preview in theme chooser ? In this case you just have to change the dock icons in ADW. As for the weather widget you must be on CM9 to have it ( not 100% positive about that though).

Transparent notification bar issue on S4 (9505)

Hi guyz, has anyone noticed that when we set a new wallpaper (apart from official ones) notification bar looses transparency!!! I can't find any fix or setting for that. You guyz noticed that???

Me too... I can't understand why Samsung is trying to force us to use their wallpapers if we want transparent bar
I dont understand either... We love android and support it but when they are forcing us to use their own apps and wallpapers, it doesnt make any sense...
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
Also when you use another launcher the status bar changes to black.
I can confirm this. Apex and Nova launcher make the status bar black even if you stay with samsung's wallpapers. It is kind of annoying but still better then samsung's touchwiz.
The dumb thing is its not even fully black it's just dark grey so you use a black wallpaper it won't match up
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
I think it's this way because Samsung don't want people to use their own wallpapers and then complain they can't read the time or battery if the wallpaper is too light. Anyway a mod can fix this in seconds, we have to be patient
Just flash the transparent status bar mod.

The implemention in Nova of transparency is flawed, it breaks themes and looks ugly in many apps.

I haven't had any problems so far, works (and looks) great for me.
Nothing new. Someone brought this up in anorher thread. Simply flash the transparent mod, deal with it being black or wait for a dev to develop more color options for the status bar

Where can I find this mod? Does it work with our 9505?
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/06/06...y-s4-brings-enhancements-and-stability-fixes/
The new firmware that Samsung are starting to roll out now gives transparent bars on custom wallpaper. Check the screenshots on SamMobile.
