One of my phones won't recognize the sim? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have two G3s that I swap the sim bask and forth between all the time.
All of sudden, the sim works fine in one phone but the other phone says "no sim card".
I reflashed the ROM ETC but nothing changed??

Most likely need a phone replacement. Go back to stock and try

Actually, reactivating the phone fixed it.

[Q] SIM Error

Guys would appreciate any suggestions you have (I have searched this forum and Google without success).
My Desire S is constantly losing it's network connection, I get an x above the signal meter and if I reboot sometimes I get a SIM error (it thinks there is no SIM installed) but sometimes rebooting or toggling Airplane mode cures the problem.
I have had the SIM out, cleaned the contacts and reseated it, had the battery out for a couple of hours and factory reset the phone (which I assumed would reset the radio) all without success.
I have an S-OFF desire running a stock ROM.
I have tried another SIM in my phone which works fine, my SIM in another phone which works fine but my SIM in my phone not.
Cheers.
Replace the sim or use ur sim after few hours...had the same issue....got it fixed by not using the sim for few hours....

Thanks, tried leaving the sim out but no joy, have ordered new sim but that means no phone for four days. At least I know it's not the phone.

Sim card problems

So my Inspire only recognizes one sim card. I tried giving this phone to my wife, but her sim card wouldn't work on the phone. Says no sim. Went to ATT and tried 3 different sims and still only mine works in the phone. I restored the phone to out of the box condition, and still, her sim doesnt work in it, only mine. Any suggestions?

Umm...check that u are Sim unlock with this: (Point 5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD
If you are then, is known that not all sim cards are to be used in sim unlocked devices, so if you have the chance try using other than your wife´s to see if it works.
If you are not Sim unlock, you can revert to S-ON and then re run the Hack Kit if you didn´t use it to root yours....:good:
Yeah the Inspire was s off and all that jazz. Running ARHD and tried MIUI and still only accepts my sim card. That's why I returned it to stock to start over. Still only accepts my sim. Wifes ATT sim card doesn't work in it. Super annoying.

Brand new sims.
I tried remembering if I hit Sim Lock while in Hboot by accident before, but not even sure what that does either.

Try a different SIM and see if it works. If it does, then it might an issue with the SIM.

FYI about flashing custom roms

I know that 99 percent know this but atleast with att when you flash roms you should take the sim card out until full boot of rom, then insert sim. this is for those who are having force close issues and are not able to connect to your mobile network after flashing custom roms.
Never have removed my sun when flashing a rom

I've never removed my SIM when flashing ROMs on all 4 of the AT&T phones I've owned and never had an issue. In fact I don't know anyone who removes their SIM when flashing.
Who is having issues with their One X connecting to their mobile network after flashing a ROM? I've seen LTE issues but that's usually been an APN issue.

Same. Never removed mine either.

I've never had a problem with connecting to the network with android, or even apple. I don't see any connection between the sim and the radio. I thought that was always APN related.

removing sim card can help some issues, but usually it's not needed. usually just rely on gut.
On any phone I've flashed, never needed to pull sim for flashing.

This was an isolated issue on an ancient device.
Who stores contacts on their sim card anyways.

Sim Card Removed Error

I'm running the latest CM and often receive an error stating that my Sim Card has been removed, and to Restart my phone to get service
Not sure if its my phone or sim card, I tried swapping my sim card in my old G1 but it said I had to put in a sim card unlock code which I don't have.
I'll upload a screen shot as soon as I can. it's annoying when the error pops up in the middle of a phone call!

Try a different rom, if you have the same problem it's the card.

No SIM card

For a few weeks now my inspire does not detect my sim card. I tried different methods to create a better contact but nothing worked. This lead me to believe the sim tray was defective. Well, tonight I put a new sim tray in, and it still doesn't detect my SIM card. This happened completely randomly, and the phone has been in a case for as long as I've had it and I almost never drop it. Any suggestions as to what I should try next? Or should I just move on to a different phone?
Is the inspire rooted, unlocked, custom Rom, at all? Have you tried toggling airplane mode to on then off that will force it to refresh all network hardware?

It is rooted, unlocked boot loader, and running a slim bean ROM. The phone has worked flawlessly this way for nearly a year and one morning it just stopped working. I have toggled airplane mode a few times with no change. I've been told its a bad sim, yet I'm using the same sim right now in an iPhone with no issues

Well have you tried a factory reset, wipe /cache, wipe dalvik? i mean lots of times things just go wrong and doing a factory reset fixes it. Sometimes even re installing the rom does it. That phone, sometimes the craziest stuff fixes it i swear.

Yes. Have tried a factory wipe with factory ROM with no change; reinstalled slim bean afterwards and still no change

Regardless of the SIM working in an iPhone I would try a new SIM just to rule it out. Who knows what variables between the hardware specs of your iPhone and your android could be different enough to produce different results. If a new SIM doesn't work then there may be a problem within the radio or mainboard.

Go to your carrier and tell them you need a new SIM. They should give you one with little questioning.

What part was it exactly?? Cause you could have been soldering the part? Or was it just a whole mother board?

No soldering; it was the entire Sd card and sim card assembly. It attaches via ribbon cable to the main board
