If anybody has ever used a iPhone you know they have a special option to disable location services on a per app basis like fb for instance. Is there a app for Android that will accomplish this?

Yes, there is. Uninstall them. Or learn how Android works, and what's the difference between apps and services, and don't log in to services that are running constantly by design. And stop using task manager.
From Nexus One forum:

Please read the thread I've pointed you to.
Apps that have services - need those services. How exactly do you expect Skype to react to incoming calls, if it's not running? And if you don't want it running for some reason - log out of it.
If you see something and don't know why it's this way - don't touch it until you know.
Yeah i get what u mean , let say like this app skyri, how would u know if it use services or not????

Read the app description.
If it is something that needs to be running constantly - like wallpaper, messenger, something that syncs with internet, widget with changing data, or anything like it - then it needs.
If it doesn't - then it doesn't.
If you think it doesn't and it does - either leave it as is or uninstall.
Cool i get it thanks for the help

If you are rooted you can get LBE from google play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite&feature=search_result#?t=W10. You can pick and choose which apps can access data, GPS and almost all permissions you want for each single app seperately. Even allows you to monitor all data usage and much more. Play around with it. Best part is....IT'S FREE!

[Q] Disable app suggestions

Every day I get a notification with a red star icon of a app suggestion. I don't find these suggestions verry interesting so I want to disable them. Who can help me with this or can point me in the right direction?

One of the apps that you installed is causing what is called push notifications. If you uninstall the app it will go away.
I use app brain ad detector to weed out those apps that use that permission.
I don't think it comes from a app I installed my self. I think it comes from one of the pre installed apps from Samsung. But how to find the one causing these notifications.
Gr. Frans
Edit: installed app brain add detector and found the app response. It was indeed a app I installed my self :-|
No . Its Most Likely not from an app but from some kind of android adware ,.. I had something Similar on my phone, but mine Was green and said that i had won something ,.got ridd of it by wiping my device .. really annoying : /

Those are all push notifications. I have never heard of any device with notification ads from pre-installed apps. Did you check the permission of all the apps that you installed. It would have stated it in the permissions.

[Q] is there a way preventing Facebook app using GPS?

HI guys
Ive noticed that fb mobile app always uses GPS to probe my location when i run the app, thats kinda disturbing. Is there a way to configure the app or do something to prevent it from turning on GPS? I tried to revoke its permission to use location services with another app but fb crashes.. Any tips are much appreciated.
Try this:
Goto 'Settings - Account - App Settings - Messenger Location Services" and turn it off.

no, this only turns the location report in the chat ("sent from near location x,y,z..").

this means turning GPS completely off, not only for facebook.
Without some sort of hack/app it is not possible clearly. Basically FB is using you GPS position for their private needs?
i dont know, but you can look at facebooks app permission and see it usses permission to access your call logs and alter them. if thats not private use, i dont know what is.
same probleme here ,, Turning GPS completly is the best solution
Install any security app form play store like LBE PRIVACY GUARD. You can block a specific app from using GPS through these applications since android platform does not allow settings for specific apps for using/not using GPS!
NOTE: NEEDS ROOT FOR THIS ACTION TO WORK!
Go to fb setting and turn of the location sharing.
Plus u can simply switch off the gps from the notification but then still it shares the location using web access point.
So u need both the things to xompletely shut the location thing...

yes. still searches for gps. i think ive found a solution, flashed a new rom with Xposed framework (first time i see this) and theres an option to controll app settings, one of the options was permissions, revoked location permissions and it seems the app is still working and not crashing (unlike the first try to revoke these permissions with another application) and does not uses the gps. yay!!

Complete app information?

I would like to know if there's an app which shows every detail about the apps installed on phone.
For example: some apps save data on storage and I don't know where exactly. Although I have root access I simply cannot find every data the app stores. Well hope somebody can help.
