Firstly: Don't bump your own threads - especially not within 24 hours
Secondly, if you had bothered to search then you would have found a few threads with custom ROM dev in the Miscellaneous Android Development so you might find answers/help there
Thirdly, don't expect much as there aren't many people out there with that phone, so dev work and support is highly limited.

firstly i'm sorry i am new user old was used to update play store my phone but i'm my phone apply format and don't update play store It would not normally be

Try install apk

As far as I know, the newest versions of Google Play only run on ICS & JB.. Android 2.3.5 doesn't support them.
I'm not totally sure, but I think that might be the problem.

Certainly GB supports the Play Store fully. The OP might be best off downloading the latest gApps for GB and flashing that onto his device

Actually it since GB. So 2.3.5 is supported.

Okidoki, I had heard something like that somewhere, but seems like I was wrong.
So GB supports alls Google Play Updates, but Froyo doesn't?

I'm was used to update this play store but phone apply format and don't update..
Trying to apk download thanks! )

[Q] Rom Finder off the Market?

Anyone having problems with the Rom Finder app? It's no longer on the Market and the version I have installed has stopped working. It appears to be the latest (2.4.4) but I'm still asked to update when I try to install a rom. Grrr.

Well, we don't have any roms for the Xoom. That could be issue #1.
No, he means roms like for emulators if I'm not mistaken. Which app are you using exactly? I know there are a few in the market. I use Rom Buddy.

Gotcha, i'm far to lazy to play games
Rom gripper? As I understand it, it was taken down because the dev said there were too many bug complaints and it will be up again when it's working

Does anyone know a app like this that is still working?

[Q] Android Market for Sensation

I got an unbranded unlocked HTC Sensation and it still has the "old" market. How exactly is the new market shipped out and to whom?
How come some users get them it automatically and some "have to" install it manually?
If you are rooted you can install the new market by yourself. If your unrooted the update will be pushed sometime. Depending on your carrier and location.

Yes, my phone is rooted. Was just wondering why some users got it automatically and some don't.
If I install it manually from an apk. How can I be sure it a "legit" file. Someone could easily has planted some malware or similar into the apk....

Have some trust in your fellow forum user. Search in the theme adn app section for the ics market leak. I assume that one will be legit.

[Q] Xoom 2 Media Editon (MZ608) - I'm lost

Hello,
I'm new here and yes, I'm a noob.
I recently got myself a Xoom 2 Media Editon (MZ608) as my first tablet. I'm not the kind of person who always needs the latest hard- and software and basicly I'm ok with the installed Android 4.0.4. Unfortunately one of the apps I'd like to use refuses to install on an "old" Android version. And another app, which was already pre-installed, refuses to update for the same reason.
As I said I'm a noob and I never modded a tablet. I searched the web for two hours but now I'm lost. There is so much information and even the guides I found seem to start in the middle. The main problem however is that I found many links and files for Android 3.2.2 and 4.0.4 but nothing helpful for anything more up-to-date.
I really just need anything newer than 4.0.4. It doesn't matter if it's 4.1.x or 4.2.x. Where do I have to go and what do I need to do? Thanks in advance for any help!
I don't believe there is anything more up to date for the media edition Xoom, also no custom recovery is possible so zero custom ROMs.

Thanks for your answer. That's sad news.
Is there at least any way to get an older version of an app from Google Play or to force installation of the new version? And can I get rid of the second app I mentioned? It fails to update and I don't want it anyway.

Actually there is a recovery available for the Xoom 2.

Maybe you could tell us which app it is so we can find another way.

Google camera app

I know that the new camera app Google released yesterday is for Kitkat devices only right now but what I'm wondering is if anyone knows if the app actually requires code only found in Kitkat vs other Android versions. Currently I have 4.2.2 and I could flash a Kitkat rom but I would like the camera app with the stock HTC rom. Is it possible to trick the play store into thinking my device has Kitkat installed? I tried just downloading the apk and it said parse error when trying to install it.
For other devices?
Can someone port this app for other versions of Android? I badly want to install it, but my Xperia SP is on 4.3 and hence I can't install it...
Is anyone going to port it anytime soon?
Someone already modded it...go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721266
lets take a look

[Q] Should I downgrade to 4.2.2 for RAM?

Hello,
so I just got my Shield in the mail today and so far ... haven't done anything with it. I want to use RAM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661067&page=9). This tool looks awesome and the developers apparently put a lot of effort into it. However, I am not a 100% sure what I should do next.
1. If I understood correctly, it also works with 4.4.2? My Shield is already at that version.
2. If not, I downloaded the 4.2.2 image from Nvidia Dev program. Are there any advantages to downgrade except for being able to use RAM?
3. Does streaming of steam games still work with 4.2.2? (My reason to buy the Shield )
Thanks in advance for any help!

I use Sd Maid/unlocker and Fstrim premium of course so my android experience is a little quicker and smoother than others....
But ive never had an emulator crash, never had streaming crash, never had bad streaming, never had youtube jumps...whats the sole purpose of staying downgraded? Haha i had to have missed something...
