Color depth - HTC One S

Is there a noticoble different from 24 to 32? I changed it using kernel tuner. Will it use more battery or strain the cpu or gpu any more? Thanks.

I'm just gonna say what I'm sure others are thinking.. Did you notice a difference after changing it? That's the best way I can figure things out

Force gpu rendering?

Anyone else have this option checked? The phone seems to be a little smoother with it enabled at the expense of using more ram and possibly a little more battery drainage.

It only applies to apps that haven't been updated for ICS.

Setcpu

Anyone have any great profiles and do you think it makes a real difference?

OC going back to stock in quadrant

So I bought setcpu and put the CPU at 1.8 GHz on demand and I keep getting stock scores and every time it finishes or if I stop it in the middle it'll say my CPU is running at stock speed for a few seconds after the benxhmark .
I even made a profile to set the actual app at 1.8 and it still doesn't work.

You need to lock in your oc so programs like quadrants does not change it back to stock by default and then try again some programs will automatically change back to stock if you don't have it looked

Bump anyone?

What kernel are you running? The app that comes with kt747 (ktweaker) has a option to lock it. Havent seen that option in other stuff like setcpu or system tuner but not sure if they have thay option or not. Most likely its the thermal scaling knocking it back down so locking it should correct that

Well I'm using lean kernel, is kt747 better?

Boost game performance

Anybody know what ways i can do this? Like apps, strategies, or roms that boost performance
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Ice Cream Sandwich rom's boost performance, if you overclock you can set it 1200 MHz and put performance.
Anything else? Because i don't really know what I'm doing when i overclock :/

Are you on ics?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Yea, beam
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Just go to settings-rom control-performance
Change from 1000 to 1200.
You are now overclocked which will boost performance. I also changed my governor from the same screen to smartassv2

setCPU voltage guide?

I remember seeing a guide on how you should go about saving your battery by adjusting the voltages in a CPU app. searched for it and can't seem to find it

I got some tips in the hell fire Phoenix 2.3 thread. I've been back and forth either cpu tweaker as well and I've read some folks believe it's better.
I have no idea if any of this really helps phone stability, but it controls cpu to some extent depending on kernel.

The battery you save is miniscule, that and the increased frequency of SOD means you have no net gain.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Agreed - better to try different kernels and find which one works best with your phone.

It will however make your device run much cooler.
